Ralf pov
I still remember how hurt I was when I caught her cheating on me with another man.
It’s nothing but pain. I can’t explain and I can’t accept the fact of being betrayed by someone I love.
I also thought that as the days went by, I would understand why she did it, and maybe we would still have a chance to get fixed and get everything back to normal.
I thought I loved her enough to be able to forgive her as long as she came back to me.
But now, for some reason, I don't even want to stare at her face.
I was surprised, "yes. I didn't expect to see her.
I was shocked when the door of my office suddenly opened and I saw her enter.
As before, she's beautiful wearing her dress. And a red lipstick on her lips.
"Ralf. '
She said softly. As usual the way she spoke was tender and very innocent.
I sighed and slightly adjusted my seat in my swivel chair.
I honestly don't know how I should react to her.
Should I pretend that I don't know about her betrayal? "But she crushed me, which hurt me so much.
" I was invited to my friend's wedding so I went home, I- I' just thought of visiting you.
She said in a low voice as she stepped closer to my desk. But before she reach my table, I got up and turned my back on her.
I looked in the transparent glass where the whole city could be seen.
“You don’t have to tell me what you’re doing, Cindy.'
"After all there is nothing between the two of us anymore.
I said as I stared at the view in front of me.
"Ralf?" I know I'm wrong, I shouldn't have left you. I was a mess that time and I didn't know what to do!.
"But now, I know that I'am wrong,
That's why I'm here to fix everything, to get everything back.
She seemed to be pleading.
I know she is not at fault either. She was just forced to leave because of what happened so I have no right to blame her.
I remained silent.
"All right, if you can't accept me anymore it's okay, I understand you, but Ralf please let me prove I'm still the woman you deserve.
I will do everything until you come back to me.'
She added, this time there was a tremor in her voice as if she was holding back her tears.
For some reason, I felt a pain in my heart.
I want to face her and stare into her face, hug and kiss her, but why can’t I?
“All right, I’m leaving.
At that moment, I immediately confronted her as she walked out the door of my office.
I want to call her by her name and stop her from leaving.
But no, I didn't, I just looked at her out the door.
I went back to my seat, and there I rubbed my face with a hand.
Now that she is no longer in front of me, I seem to feel relieved.
A few minutes passed and the door to my office opened again.
I thought Cindy was back so I immediately raised my head.
But it's not her, I just sighed when Roxette come form the door.
looking at her as she walked closer to me.
"Why are you here?
I asked coldly while I went back to my seat, and there I rubbed my face with a hand.
She looked at me as if wanted to ask something but could not pronounce the words.
I frowned in astonishment.
She found a comfortable seat in the chair right in front of my desk.
"Ralf, I'm going to an event. I just thought maybe you could join me?
She said, but that didn't seem to be all she wanted to say.
My eyes looked at her hands that were holding tightly to the handbag she was carrying.
"Is that all? "Do you have anything else to say?
I asked, because I knew she had something more to say.
She swallowed while looking at me but immediately averted and bow down her head, her eyes turned on the bag she was holding.
"That's all.' No-nothing, I have nothing more to say.'
She stuttered and stood up and looked at me.
"Did you eat? If not, I can buy you dinner before I go home.
I took a deep breath. This woman is not good at hiding her feelings.
"I have a secretary, I can order him to do that.
"It's getting late, just go home.
I said.
I immediately saw the frustration on her face.
"Then I'll leave.
She said briefly. And she started walking away.
Now that she was gone, it entered my mind that Roxette and Cindy might have met earlier
However, I don't have to worry about that.
I should stop thinking. I turned my attention to the papers piled on my desk, so that my mind would shift to more important things.
But it suddenly occurred to me that I had not responded to Roxette's invitation.
I picked up my phone that sat next to the laptop on my desk, to text her and say I will go with her.
“Seriously?
I whispered as I scrolled through the contact numbers on my phone.
I just realized that I don't have her number.
I dropped the phone and continued my work.
Just a few minutes passed and I heard a knock on the door.
I knew that is my secretary, because I strictly instructed the employees to knock first before entering my office and he was the only one who often came to my office.
"Sir, these are your meeting schedules this week.
He said carrying the clipboard with the appointments listed.
I checked it for a while but I let go immediately. Usually I don't bother about my schedules, but now I have to adjust it for Roxette, thanks to her.
"Please vacate the day after tomorrow.
"Sorry sir?
He asked as if he heard me wrong.
"You heard me, You can go now.'
I said, before he asked for more reason.
He would definitely ask, so
it is better to avoid it immediately.
For some reason, I suddenly looked at my phone before he leave the office.
“Just a moment!
“Do you have Roxette’s number?
He looked at me again with astonishment.
"Your wife's number sir?
He was making sure.
"You know what? Never mind!
"Of course sir!'
"Your wife's number right? Of course I have it!'
He said and immediately scrolled to his phone because he knew I was totally annoyed with his reactions.
Just a few seconds and I heard the snooze of my silent phone.
He texted me the number.
Then I raised my head to him again to speak my gratitude.
But I was even more annoyed with his face.
My forehead frowned, he seemed to be annoying me even more, he smiled at me as if teasing.
"What's that? Why are you looking at me that way?
Before I was even more annoyed, he ran out of the office.
He was obviously teasing. And now that she's gone, I picked up my phone and texted Roxette.
"I'll accompany you, text me what time I'll pick you up. '
From time to time I look at my phone, as if waiting for her to reply.
After about two hours I almost fell asleep in my swivel chair and my phone finally snoozed.
"okay '
"What? Seriously?
I've been waiting for her reply.
that's all?
I just turned off the phone and put it down somewhere on my desk out of annoyance.
