Kidnapped
The alarm had sounded through the city of Calvich. It was warning the mundanes the sun is setting.
A time where monsters came out. The alarm rang in her ear as she looked at the time. It had read 5:45pm. Ravena hated this about the winter time, You hardly have any time to yourself.
It was only the first warning so she figured she could stay a little longer.
Typically there was 3 alarms that blared through most city's one before dark. One at sunset and one right before the sun goes completely down; Anyways she was busy with a book she was skimming through. This would help her in her college endeavour.
Ravena was studying to become a politician. One that would try to put a stop to people dissapearing. She was tired of people being scared of vampires.
She couldn't say if she herself was afraid of not because she had never had a alcercation with a vampire.
You could say she was lucky, Vampires were getting harder and harder to spot though so she couldnt say 100 percent she had never seen one either.
So why would she be worried about one now? Plus she had a solid 40 minutes before the last warning sound.
So Ravena continued to read up on the power of words in debating and how to express her side of the debate. It also had examples of recorded politicians and their debates.
'Maybe the librarian has the tape to this book' it was a long shot but she was interested in watching how they made history. This mayor was bowing to the vampires and she couldnt understand why.
Being persuaded was uncomrehendable in her mind, She was strong and stubborn like that.
Not long after skimming a couple more books she had finally found her pile of books she was going to take home and study on. Ravena sighed picking up the four rather large books she wanted to check out.
Making her way to the librarian she saw the older lady give a sheepish smile.
"Good i was just about to call last 5 minutes it's not safe outside after dark"
Ravena was no stranger to this rule. Everyone had it. They were like cattle, Herding into their houses whenever the bells went off.
Not to mention the monthly blood donation the city was required to give their clinics. Most people knew where it was going but never questioned it since it was a passive way of keeping "them" from destroying their town and enslaving the human race.
This way they had a dont ask dont tell kind of situation. If you kept to your own buisness your life would be for tge most part free.
It was easy to look the other way when people went missing. It ment no war.
Ravena finally nodded responding to the librarian. "I know but don't worry i only live ten minutes from here.. Sorry for keeping you"
She knew the librarian had a room upstairs for occasions she couldnt make it home before dark so she wasnt worried but she felt guilty she had made the poor lady anxious.
The lady only nodded and shooed her out as she realised she was the last one there she felt the heat rise to her cheeks out of embarrassment.
No wonder she was impatient. Turning around she kept her hood on as she made her way down the street turning to a open feild. She lived right across this feild.
She walked through this feild daily and the brink of night but why was she feeling anxious herself? Ravena looked around seeing some people still ushering to their houses as well but nothing dangerous.
Pushing her anxiety down visually she took a deep breath 'I'm fine, I walk this feild every day.' She reassured herself as she continued towards her house.
Ravenas baby hairs in the back of her head stood up as she had an overwhelming sense that she was being stalked. Turning around quickly she saw nothing again. Just the weeds rustling in the gentle winters breeze and the leaves crunching under her feet.
Finally she began to run. She couldnt think of a logical reason as to why she was running but she felt like her body was screaming at her mind to run.
So she did. Finally getting to her house she slammed the door locking it with a gasp, She was safe.
Home sweet home. - She felt a wave of relief rush through her pumping heart as she steadied her breathing. Little did she know of the danger that was in her house already.
Ravena kicked of her shoes as she set her books down on her coffee table as she went to get water for herself. Man running a few blocks of opened feild was harder than she thought.
Finally she had settled in and grabbed at one of the books she had just got opening it as she felt the sense of anxiety her body forming goosebumps.
Someone was in her home.
Just as she was about to speak up she heard a venomous voice. "O negitive. Im sure a certain lord would be interested in you. Your rare white hair too. What a gem i have found for the Lords"
The very sound of his joyfoul venom filled voice sent her stomach into knots. Her first encounter with a vampire.
"Please, Im sure i wont be of use to any of your lords. This is also illegal.. How did you get into my complex without an invintation?"
Ravena was trying to stall until she could figure out how to run.
"Illegal? Not at all my sweet blooded human. Your landlord is dead and so is the need of invintation."
She could feel the grin in his tone of voice, She was scared to turn around and see the vampire. She knew if he was able to get into the apartment without her consent it must of been true.
In that case he was right it wasnt illegal to take a human who was not under the protection of their home or owned themselves. A f****d up rule.
"Please i will give you what you want. Just.. Dont kill me" she said sheepishly as she heard him burst into laughter causing the tears threatening to escape her eyes finally fall. It was weird; He hadnt killed her or even bite her for blood yet. Why? With all the horror stories she figured she would die or been bitten at least.
"You won't die my cute little mundane but you will however become a slave, They will use you however they please.. Perhaps a fate just as bad as death"
Hearing his motives she could feel herself suck in a raggid breath since she heard her fate. He seemed like he could sense her fear and abxiety because he laughed once more sniffing up her neck. He was enjoying this.
Right after he spoke she finally went to look but he was gone. His voice was just there!! Looking around she stood as she heard a snicker from behind her. He was just looking that way though. How?!
Whipping around she saw him with something in his hand. Her poor heart was beating so fast she didnt know if she could handle it anymore or not. The bottle looked almost like a perfume but what he sprayed made her body instantly feel heavy. Her eyes slowly fluttered as she saw black.
