Chapter 17: Another Day Absent

Next day after Harold having a talk with Francis who struggled to answer the questions about Heinrich. Harold wake up carefully and he saw the dish besides him in the table, Bienenstiche (a german soft and sweet dough with a caramelized almonds on top, and filled with buttercream), marzipan (a almond meal mixed with honey and almond extract) and a hot bread with a melted butter. He immediately sitting and eating the foods sitting in the plate. He seemly energized and prepared too early and quickly and when he weared his formal uniform, he proceed first to his small library to took two bücher (books) and he quickly proceed to go to their university.

While walking, he saw Heinrich sitting besides the barrels in the shoemaker's workshop. He aburptly stopped walking and proceed to the front of Heinrich. While he proceed, Heinrich looks pale and thinner than before and looks like pretending that he can't see Harold in his front, daydreaming, looking above him, the sky where the clouds flying around.

When Harold standing nearby Heinrich, he still no reaction and still looking above. "Heinrich, you almost waste your time here, go to your room in the dormitory to prepare yourself as you proceed to our university." Harold reminds Heinrich to go to their university as he prepared all the requirements but Heinrich declined it.

"Requirements? Seriously? It is not my problem because it is just a additional task from the professors that makes us struggle. Without requirements is fine because it can't control everything that you have. (quote by Unknown) But fine, take it if you want" Heinrich looks madly with a laughing expression and told to Harold visits his room at that dormitory and took some requirements to pass who still standing in his front. Harold immediately leaving Heinrich alone in the place where he stay to wastes his time.

As he entered the university, Francis surprised that Harold looks so mad that day. "Guten Morgen Harold, warum bist du sauer? (Good Morning Harold, why are you mad?)" He greets and asks Harold while sitting in the bench nearby the gates. "Heinrich didn't want to pass his requirements alone, now I hold some of his requirements to pass it to our professors." Harold said little bit calm while Francis immediately holds Heinrich's requirements.

"Why he didn't pass it? He is not attending class again?" Francis added the questions throwing to Harold, "Yes." he said while they walking through the corridor to their classroom. "Es tur mir leid, Harold... (I am sorry about that, Harold...)" He suddenly apologized Harold after his question that he thinks is pretty offensive. "Es ist in Ordnung, Francis. (It's okay, Francis.)" Harold said while he almost sitting in his chair and he bring out the books that he took earlier. While he put two books on his desk, suddenly his seatmate walking near him and asking to borrow one of his books.

As he accept that his seatmate took one of his books while he reads the remaining books. While she reads almost five pages, she noticed that a random page has a one letter, that will be address for Franchesca. After she noticed it, she didn't read that letter as she has no mood the other people's letter, she proceed to Harold who sitting besides Francis to give that letter and she immediately back to her seat as she read peacefully.

In the zweißig (twenty) minutes, the professor suddenly come in their classroom as the time to pass their requirements. While checking the requirements, he suddenly looking at the empty seat that Heinrich seating there, he also take a minute before passing their requirements, he said that "Wo ist Heinrich? (Where is Heinrich?)", and the rest of students are still the same, silent and looks like the professor talking to himself and he suddenly saying "Niemand... Vergiss es. (No one... Nevermind about it.)" and the class start talking like a whispering people on his surroundings and they standing immediately as they line up with a full of discipline that no one shoving each other while their professor checking their requirements.

After the other students have already check their requirements, that will be Harold's turn, while he proceed to their professor's desk, he holding his requirements and above it was Heinrich's requirements that will be passed and checked as early that Heinrich saying that Harold's option that either Heinrich fails the school year or passed the requirements as he proceed to the dormitory and took some requirements from Heinrich and proceed quickly to their university. As he put his requirements to their professor's desk and completely having a excellent mark, after checking that he took quickly his requirements and he replaced with Heinrich's requirements. In the middle of checking that his classmates suddenly silence and their professor completely shocked and he asks Harold.

"Herr Gösberge, do you know where is Heinrich?" the professor seems too obsessed to Heinrich's name while he looking the requirements. Harold stares at their professor while trying to explain inside his head to avoid ackward moments.

"Uhm... I think Herr, that Heinrich is very ill today..." Harold tries to create an excuse to avoid having a major offense for Heinrich while Francis suddenly stand up and walking behind Harold as he taps Harold's right shoulder that make Harold surprised and still thinking and that seconds, he stared again their professor checking the requirements of Heinrich.

"What he is doing between last week and today of his absentee?" their professor said while looking a little to Harold that looking around to having a answer from inside his head. But Francis shaking his head as Harold didn't say something about Heinrich's absentee and Harold turns his head to the professor.

"Ich habe keine ahnung (I have no idea) about it Herr..." Harold pretends that he has no idea while their professor just signed Heinrich's requirements and quickly give to Harold and he told that Heinrich will arrive and attend that university that he expect for the next day's session. Harold agrees that what their professor said as the profesaor and their classmates including them want to see Heinrich attends their university after the week that he didn't attend because of his habit.
