I couldn’t believe that my own assistant was the one that was trying to screw up this case. He had been working with me for years now and one low life was able to bribe him. Where had it all gone wrong? I wasn’t allowed to question him as I was told I was too close to the case. We were transferring jurisdiction of his case to the next county as it would be a conflict of interest. I just wanted to know why. But I may never know the answers. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. “Come in” I said. My secretary came in with paperwork that I needed to sign to informally release Sam out of jail on our charges.
