With the children playing happily I allowed my eyes to fall on my fingers. My mothers ring on my left hand middle finger. It was the symbol of our pack. A flower with six petals. Each petal was a red ruby and a diamond was the center. There was a chain of diamonds going from the top and bottom of the flower to the gold band. On my other hand sat and infinitely ring. No gems just strait white gold. It was beautiful and simple. It sat on index finger. It represented the boys pack as the Luna handed it to her eldest whom asked me to wear it in lue of there mother.
“Leave her alone.” Marcus spoke causing me to look up. A boy not to much older then them had his hands on Esmeralda’s wrist. Marcus had a hand on the boy who grabbed hers wrist. This boy didn’t look to much older then Marcus but I knew it was trouble. His blond hair was slicked back and his clothing was neat. I knew he had to be the child of an important member of a close by pack. Marcus was normally really good about being respectful but he must have done something which worried me. Marcus can pack a punch due to his Alpha blood.
“You should leave unwanted new comer. She shouldn’t play with people like you.” The boy spoke angered.
“Let me go Jared.” Esmeralda said though I could hear her frightened voice. This worried me even more. This could mean he was not part of her pack or he bullied her all the time.
“A princess shouldn’t play with nobody’s.” Jared said trying to pull her away. Marcus wasn’t having any of it as he held firm stopping him. Jared got mad and flicked his wrist causing them both to go backwards. I quickly moved my wrist to cushion there fall as I made it look like they hit hard with Esmeralda on top of Markus. Magic was something I didn’t use a lot of. I found out I had magic 4 years ago when I managed to save Marcus from a bear. I will the power to do what I wanted and it did. It came at a price. I felt wobbly knowing it was because of the magic I used.
“Are you okay?” Marcus asked as Esmeralda nodded. She quickly got up and helped him before running to me. I knelt down and opened my arms for her. Marcus came and stood close. Jared came over and stood in front of us, his arms crossed over his chest both feet shoulder width apart. It was a warrior stance which worried me a little. I wonder where his parents where.
“Esmeralda let’s go my father will take us home.” Jared said looking over at us. I shook my head as I stood up leaving Esmeralda in my embrace. Well this was a fine time for my devil son to pop up. He rammed into Jared like a bull into a red flag.
“Don’t hurt my brother again.” He said before walking over to me. I held back a chuckle as I heard someone clear there throat.
“Is that how your children behave.” The loud voice spoke. He was an older version of Jared so I assumed he had to be his father. I shuttered a little internally even though I held strong on the outside. He walked over and tried to reach for Esmeralda. I quickly stepped away to which caused him to growl. He tried again causing me to push him gently away.
“She is safe with me.” I spoke sternly once I was a distance away. I didn’t know this person and there was no way I was giving up a child to anyone.
“No she is safer with me. You’re a nobody. Who knows what you will do to her.” He growled harshly causing my blood to boil. This was the mom in me not to mention the Alpha blood the runs through me.
“I was entrusted with her. You will not be taking her from me.” I growled right back. Marcus held my arm tightly as Patric grabbed my hand. “And yes this is how I taught my children. They have each others back through think and thin. When one gets hurt the other helps. Isn’t that how most packs train there warriors.”
“Give me our princess.” He snapped trying to radiate power. It did nothing to me as I held her as close as I could with the one arm I had around her. She gripped me harder.
“Only when her father returns and says your okay to take her.” I said walking away. I was walking back to the bench we where at. Patric sat on it by my purse with a grin. I knew he was happy he got back at the boy for touching his brother.
“Thanks Mom.” Marcus smiled happily. I smiled at him before I heard the shifting of a wolf. The man I was talking to phased into a very large brown wolf. Not as big as an alpha would be but definitely bigger then most she wolves. He held himself proud but I knew he was nothing but a wolf compared to my power. He was strong for sure though. He started running at me causing me to put Esmeralda down. I quickly grouped the children together before I jumped at him phasing to my wolf as I contacted him. I pinned him to the ground and growled. He used his hind leg and scratched my belly causing me to wince. He took the distraction and grabbed my front leg with his teeth. I bit his muzzle causing him to release my leg and with all my might I threw him a short distance away. I limped to the children where I put myself in front of them growling at him. My ears pinned showing him he was not welcomed close. I was about his size if not bigger so he couldn’t intimidated me with his height.
‘Move aside bitch.’ He snarled
‘You will not touch her.’ I snapped back. He angrily growled racing at me before a large black wolf stepped in front of me. The other quickly threw on his breaks before bowing his head and leaving with his son. The black wolf growled as he turned to me. Esmeralda jumped on my face wrapping her arms around my muzzle. The black wolf barked confused. I whined gently but the young girl said nothing as my boys came to my side.
“No Alpha she didn’t do anything wrong. Your gamma is bad. His son is so mean.” Esmeralda spoke looking at him. The wolf huffed before walking away. Bathroom guy walked over and held up his jacket for me. I shook my head gently as Esmeralda was still holding it.
“Moms going to phase.” Marcus spoke gently grabbing her shoulders. The large black wolf growled angrily but didn’t step forward. I smiled happily as I stepped back and phased back. My clothing fully intact. It was a miracle but didn’t mater what I wore it would still come back.
“Amasing. I have never seen anyone phaze like that. And your wolf is breathtakingly beautiful.” The bathroom guy spoke.
“Thanks.” I spoke out of breath. Marcus led me to the bench and looked at my bloody wrist. It really did hurt. Esmeralda was crying on my shoulder.
“He actually hurt you.” Bathroom guy was so mad. This also caused the black wolf to bark as he stepped closer.
“I hurt him to. Grabbed his nose.” I spoke as I winced. Marcus was pulling my sweater off the wound.
“Come I have a first aid kit in the car.” He said helping me to my feet. The black wolf nodded before he took off running. The children linked hands as they followed close. Bathroom guy popped his trunk and got me seated in the back. He focused on my wrist as he careful cleaned it and wrapped it.
“He got her stomach to.” Esmeralda spoke. I grabbed my shirt and told him it was okay. It wasn’t bad. I knew it was just a surface scratch. I mean I did hurt but it will be fine. I will look at it later as I prayed if it was bleeding it wouldn’t bleed through. I decided to place a shield on it to make sure it didn’t.
“He barely got me. My wrist is the worst.” I reassured everyone. Bathroom man kept wrapping my wrist for me trying to be careful. Marcus didn’t believe me but didn’t press the matter. He know my insecurities around guys due to everything that has happened to me.
“Come let’s get you to the principle then.” Bathroom guy spoke though he seemed worried and upset. I couldn’t figure out why but I felt bad.
“Yeah you guys are going to become students at my school.” Esmeralda spoke happy. I smiled as the three of them sat in the back. He helped me into the passenger seat before running over to the drivers seat. He reached over and helped me with my buckle. It was my right hand that got bit.
“I’ve never properly introduced myself. I’m Camron.” He smiled happily as he reached out his left hand. I smiled and reached out with my own.
“Av.” I gently said. He smiled happily.
“Is that a nickname or…” he asked trailing off.
“It’s a nickname. The children had a hard time saying it so I changed it.” I smiled gently.
“Her really name is Avnisha.” Marcus said piping up. I smiled at him before my eyes fell on the dashboard. The beautiful Mercedes was all black right into the interior. It was well kept. I could never imagine sitting in one even though I was now.
“Really what’s your last name.” Cameron asked very interested.
“It was forgotten many years ago.” I gently told him as he nodded and pulled out of the park. Not entirely a lie but not the truth either. I do kind of remember it just not exactly.
“Mommy, when do we get to eat again.” Pateic asked from the back after it had been quiet for to long. I knew he would be getting hungry, they had to been playing for half hour if not more.
“At supper.” I told him gently. He smiled and looked out the window.
“Mommy I’m hungry.” He gently said.
“Patric you just ate.” Marcus spoke a little angry.
“Here honey.” I spoke pulling out his favorite granola bar. Is was a chewy chocolate chip no name bar.
“Mr. Cameron can I eat in your car please?” Patric asked politely. I smiled at him as he use such good manners.
“As long as you promise to try not making a mess.” Cameron smiled happily. Patric happily opened the wrapping and began to eat. I knew there was no way he was going to make a mess. He loved those bars like a child loves chocolate.
“Can I have one?” Esmeralda asked gently.
“Mommy can she have one.” Patric asked once he finished his bite. I smiled happily as I looked for another.
“Here you are.” I smiled passing her one as I held one up for Marcus. I knew he wanted one to. He took it and they all ate happily in the back.
“You got a way with them.” Cameron spoke with a smile.
“I love children.” I smiled happily as my eyes fell on his face. He was definitely handsome. I could feel the fear slowly slipping away as he was so kind to me.
“Where are you guys from?”
“Kenitictic.” Patric tried. I held back the gentle laugh that wanted to escape.
“Is that so. I don’t think I have ever heard of that place.” Cameron said trying not to laugh himself.
“Its so beautiful. Mommy always told me about it. She even has pictures of it.” He smiled happily. I just smiled knowing I would have to explain this to him one day but now was not the time. He was still to young.
“Well if you guys stay I think it would be cool to visit if it is that beautiful.” Cameron said looking at me with a bit of pain in his eyes. I looked away worried why he would have that look.
“That would be cool.” Esmeralda said gently. I reached back and grabbed the wrappers as we pulled up at the school. Cameron parked the car as he smiled.
“I have to get her homework so we will walk you in. After we will take you home.” Cameron said not really leaving me the choice to say no as he got out. He got Partic out as I helped Markus down before Esmeralda jumped in my arms. Cameron had a huge smile on his lips. I held her close before I put her down. She grabbed my hand as Marcus grabbed the other. Patric had Cameron’s hand and was trying to drag him to the school.
The school was beautiful. It was blue with beautiful wood pieces that encircled the black letters making signs. It was just beautiful. The playground had the most equipment I have ever seen. Cameron chuckled as he led us in. If I thought outside was amazing well the inside was just as breathtaking. That same blue came inside to the hallways where beautiful oak lockers where. Where the younger children where there were wood encased hangers. It was just beautiful. The office much the same with the wood as the counter and the blue walls.
“Cameron are you her for Esmeralda’s homework.” The lady at the front desk.
“Sure am Sam. My friend her Av, is also looking to get her children into school.” Cameron said pointing to me. He grabbed Esmeralda from me and I held my hand out for Patric. “Also got this note for the big man. Slip it to him while you take her in please.”
“Absolutly.” The lady Sam spoke. She had to be in her late forties but still beautiful. He brown eyes where popping with the purple smoke eye makeup and her beautiful ginger hair that lay in beautiful ringlets around her oval clean face. I was nervous as she led me to a large room. The man inside was on the phone but asked us to take a seat. Sam passed him the note before she left. He hung up the phone quickly and looked at me. He to was dashing, his brown hair slicked up and his brown eyes eyeing us after he looked over the note.
“Welcome.” He gently spoke as he looked between us. “I see you would like to enroll your children with us.”
“That I would.” I spoke gently.
“I would like to see identification and school records if I could.” He spoke reaching his hand out. I passed over there care cards.
“I have been homeschooling them. I don’t have records for that.” I spoke gently.
“I see.” He frowned. “I’m sorry but I cant enroll them halfway through the school year. The little one would be okay but…”
“I’m very smart sir. I think I will be okay. My mom has taught me many things and I have learnt much more.” Marcus spoke up for himself. Patric nodded happily beside him.
“My big brother taught me many things.” He added.
“I see.” The principal chuckled. “Well then I am not one to curb the learning of children but you have to find a home address and be apart of a pack. I know the situation isn’t good as you have just moved in but I need to know that all the children that go to school here have a safe place to learn. I know your wolves and this school take in both non wolf and wolf students but you must be apart of a pack to join.”
“We can joins school is we find pack.” Patric asked excitedly. It was breaking my heart. I couldn’t join a pack not again. I was a curse for every pack. We had tried three others before and it all ended the same.
“Yes.” The principal said as he rose. I rose as well. “Join a pack and get them to sign this and a signature from a bank/landlord stating you have good living quarters and we will enroll the children right away.”
“Thank you sir.” I spoke though a little frightened. He nodded as he pointed to the door and I walked out. Patric was jumping for joy as Marcus squeezed my hand.
“It will be okay mom. We will figure something out.” He spoke gently and I nodded.
“So what did he say?” Cameron asked startling me. He held up his one hand in apologies. Esmeralda reached for me and I took her from his arms.
“We just have to join a pack and have home we will be in school.” Patric happily said. I tried to hold my tears back. I don’t know how to explain this to him.
“Is that so. Well we better go find an Alpha for you so you can join a pack.” Cameron spoke. I shuttered at the word Alpha and feared he saw. It was hard to tell. No Alpha has been nice to me. The last three packs we have been to I have been forced to be a punching bag just to stay in the pack. No matter how hard I work they still refuse to let me be. Marcus gently touched my lower back as he walked around to my bad hand. I nodded at him and he smiled.
“Come on mom. Cameron knows an Alpha.” Patric exclaimed as he tried to grab my hand. Marcus quickly took his hand causing me to sigh.
“Come on Av, I know a very kind one. He will let you join I’m sure of it.” Cameron smiled as I followed him and the children out. Esmeralda stayed in my arms and hugged me.
“You join my pack. My alpha is so kind hearted.” Esmeralda happily smiled. “I love being around you.”
“I love being in your presence as well.” I smiled to her kissing her forehead. It was true. She, like Marcus, made me feel so calm.
