Chapter 5

Morning came and went and I was still asleep. The children all climbed out of bed and Cameron got them ready for school. He even took the letter to the office and got the boys enrolled. I woke up a few hours after they left in a bit of a panic which just about got me I’m sure thrown out. The Alpha had to come in and calm me down. “You feel better.” Cameron asked as I got out of the bathroom. They had run me a bath allowing me to relax a bit. “I’m sorry.” I spoke very upset I let my emotions get the better of me. “Don’t be. This is the first time your probably up with the children so far away.” Cameron said gently. “Marcus was very demanding we stay till you woke up but he also didn’t want Patric to be late for his first day.” “I know. I shouldn’t have slept for so long." I said. “You needed the sleep.” Cameron smiled. “Come Andrew has got lunch for us.” “So are you and the Alpha Twins.” I asked gently as he held the door for me. Cameron froze as I stopped to look at him. He was fighting with his mind about something. Wait it wasn’t his mind. He was probably fighting with his wolf. Something I wish to have. I began to walk away as I said, “If you cant answer it’s okay. You both look handsomely dashing to not be.” It was silent as I walked and by the time I got to the stairs I was alone. I looked back to see Cameron wasn’t there. I hope he still wasn’t fighting his wolf. The joy to have a wolf to fight with, to talk with in trying times like this. I sighed as I stepped back towards my room to which I know Cameron probably was. “So you’re the new wolf.” Someone spoke sharply. I turned to the voice to find a women. “Definitely not someone who should have been let in.” “I’m Av,” I spoke gently reaching out my left hand to her. She lifted her nose to it. “That’s no way to treat you future Luna.” She snapped. I was shocked. Lunas where suppose to be sweet and understanding. A mother figure to the pack. She was far from it. “I am talking to you.” “I’m sorry your just not what I expected to be Luna.” I gently spoke. Oh was she mad as she smacked me right across the face. “Don’t you ever disrespect me like that. I am future Luna. You will bow your head when you see me and treat me with respect.” She snapped at me. “But how does one give respect to you when you don’t have an ounce to give to another.” I spoke sternly. Yep, sometimes my big mouth gets me in s**t. I think it’s the shock of finding out she was the Luna as I said all the ones I have encountered are sweet. I was hit across the other cheek this time causing me to stumble towards the stairs. I was able to regain my balance though so it was okay. She huffed and walked away. I’m sure she wanted me to head first down the stairs. I watched her walk away for a short time before sighing and stepping down the stairs. She was heading in the direction of my room and didn’t want to have any more encounters. I knew I would have to be careful around her and not to mention be on my best behavior. I don’t need to be kicked out of a pack, not when the boys are so excited to be going to school. I hope they where okay. I sure do miss them. “Penny for you thoughts.” My brother said pulling me out of my mind. “Just thinking about the boys.” I told him as I stepped over and embraced him. He hugged me back tightly as well. “Esmeralda is with them. That girl might look shy but she can sure pack a punch when needed.” Andrew chuckled. “Come let’s get some food in you. Where is Cameron at?” “I left him by my door.” I spoke upset. “Asked him if he was twins with the Alpha as they both look so similar. I think him and his wolf are fighting now.” “I see, well if I know that lug well enough he will be at it for a bit and your breakfast will be cold. Don’t worry about him.” Andrew gently smiled as he led me to a chair in the kitchen. It was beautifully large. I guess it would have to be if the pack where to be fed. The room was painted red with beautiful oak table and chairs. There where cabinets full of antique dishes lining the one wall and a buffet type table the other. All stainless steal and oak. On the table There where hot pancakes and bowls of fruit. I sat down and happily enjoyed them as did Andrew. It was silent but peaceful. “Thank you.” I smiled happily when he took my plate. “The boys wont be home for another hour or so, the Alpha has instructed I spend the entire day with you as he knows you will be more comfortable with me.” He smiled cheekily. “I would like that. 12 years is a long time to be kept away from your favorite person.” I smiled happily. “Andrew,” A voice screamed from behind the kitchen door. I looked at him roll his eyes before I looked back to the door. I caught her scent before jumping behind Andrew whom was taken back a little. “Kitchen.” He called though he was looking at me hiding behind him. “Do you know where that skank ran off to. I chipped a nail and it is all her fault.” The future Luna spoke. I pray she didn’t see me as I didn’t want another mark on my face. I grabbed my brothers shirt trying not to shake. “How is it her fault.” Andrew asked his full focus on her so I was well hidden. “She disrespected me and I taught her where she stands.” The girl said all snobbish. I really didn’t like her. “Please tell me you didn’t do what I think you did.” Andrew growled as he pinched the bridge of his nose. The faucet was a good help for this. “Don’t you dare take that tone with me. You are Beta, lower then Luna.” She exclaimed almost shocked he growled at her. “You are not my Luna, nor will you ever be. The Alphas will find there mate and when they do she will be nothing compared to you.” He growled at her causing her to flinch. I heard the floor boards squeak. “Now I suggest you leave before I do something I am going to regret.” “She is a skan…..” “Olivia.” The growl shook the entire house. Someone was rightfully mad and my only assumption was the Alpha. I began to shake from fear it was me he was going to yell at. “Now you made him mad.” Andrew chuckled. He turned to me and led me out the back door to the patio. “You don’t need to see or hear what might happen next.” “Why is she next Luna?” I asked gently. “She is not kind nor does she hold herself properly.” “She is a slut of the pack. Sleeps with anyone and everyone to get what she wants. She drugged the Alpha and slept with him. Now she claimed they are mates.” Andrew spoke even though it hurt to hear it. I was still unsure why. A child crying caught my attention as I v lined for it. There in a field was a child crying. I looked over at Andrew whom was smiling as we walked closer to him. He was all snooty but held his arms up to me. I instantly lifted him wincing gently however as my right arm was still sore. Andrew looked concerned but I waved him off. “Shhhh, little one your safe.” I spoke grabbing the hanky Andrew passed to me to clean him up. I however did not pass it back to him. I would clean it first then hand it back. His red hair was all over the place like he had just woken up. His beautiful green eyes where all clouded from the tears. He was a little chubby but cute all the same. He had to be 2 or 3. “Mommy.” He cried some more as he dropped his head to my shoulder. I gently rocked him putting him to sleep quickly. “Olivia could never do that.” Andrew gently said as I looked at him. “She should, this is all part of being a Luna. Mom taught me this.” I smiled happily remembering my mom. Andrew placed a hand on my shoulder and gently squeezed causing me to smile bigger. I may not have my mom but I have him. “Come his mom probably took a nap thinking he was safe in his crib. This little devil is always getting out.” Andrew chuckled as he led me towards a small little village. It was cute. Almost like you would find a hotel room but instead the rooms where scattered. “The Alpha doesn’t mind if we live away from the pack house but its mandatory we eat at the pack house. We have rotations, so higher status being the Beta, delta and Gamma families eat first, then the warriors families and the last but not least the rest of the pack. The Alpha and his family always eat last. They make sure the entire pack is fed before themselves.” “Much like our pack.” I told him smiling. Dad was always adamant about that. He made sure his warriors where the first to eat as they where the ones protecting us then the omegas and then his family and his first, second and third right hand families. “Actually this pack took that tradition on when I moved here. They said it was perfect. The Alpha at the time wasn’t on good terms with to many of his people. Once he changed the eating rotation he was on good terms with everyone as well as the pack became stronger as everyone was eating properly.” Andrew smiled. “These homes have bedrooms and washrooms with a small kitchen. Something so that if the wives want to cook they can but not to many do as women and men train here to be warriors. Those that don’t make the cut are given other jobs. Some runners that take messages from one pack to another, some become doctors or nurses and some take care of the children. There are many jobs here that they help out with.” “The pack doesn’t have a school on the premises.” I said even though it looked big enough to. “No we feel the children should be taught close to humans so they know there way as well as our own. The humans don’t know we exist except for those that are mated to us. With the children attending school with them, it forces them to keep there secrets hidden which will help them out later on.” Andrew smiled happily I was intrigued by the information. It was like he had been learning it all just so he could teach me. “I wondered how so many people got along with humans. Glad to hear this pack is good with them as well.” I smiled happily before I ran into someone. He made sure to catch me before I hit the ground. The child in my arms was up scared. He saw the face of the man and cried happily. “Daddy.” He sobbed out. The man put me on my feet as he took the child from my arms and stared to kiss him. When I looked closer I saw it was Jared’s dad. I moved closer to Andrew who wrapped his arms around me. “Oh Rascal you got your mama worried sick about you. You need to stop running away.” He spoke to his son as he kissed his cheek. “Daddy.” Little Rascal spoke. He turned to me and I felt him stiffen. I looked down as I turned away from him. “Thank you.” He spoke placing a gently hand on my shoulder causing me to look up at him. “I’m also sorry.” “Its okay, you where protecting a future Luna and you didn’t know whom I was. Nor did I know whom you where. My protective mother side came out.” I told him though I was a little worried. “Names Scott, I’m the Gamma for the Alpha.” He spoke dropping his hand from my shoulder to offer it to me. I gently took it with my left. “Av,” I said happily. “I promise not to attack you from now on. Being as you are the Betas sister consider me a protector.” Scott smiled as he bowed lightly. “Please you don’t have to do that.” I said forcing him to rise. He smiled at me. “As you wish.” He turned to his son and said. “Let’s get you back to mommy before she has another fit.” “He attacked you?” Andrew spoke angrily. I grabbed his hand and he looked at me. “On my first day here Esmeralda asked us to go to the park with her and Cameron. I agreed but when we got there Cameron took off for a bigger car. He wanted to make sure we got to the school in time. When he left Jared decided to start bugging her. Marcus stepped in to stop him causing them to come to me. He thought I was a rouge that was going to take Esmeralda away. He and I fought as I didn’t know he was Gamma at the time. I mean I knew he had power but I didn’t know who it belonged to. I kept her safe as Cameron asked me to and in my eyes she was not to go to anyone but him.” I told him as we began walking once more.
