"I don't want to go" I whine, trying to find a last resort as I stand in front of the airport. "You have to go, I've been given a new job in America and I'm not leaving you alone, you are still 17 years old" mum said as she checked through her phone. "But you said I was mature, isn't that enough to let me live on my own?" I asked "No, now stop complaining and walk forward" "Fine" I said as I walked towards the gate ignoring anything else my mum said. I hate that I have to leave, I hate that I didn't even get to say goodbye to my friends and I hate that I will never be able to meet my dad again. As soon as I enter the airplane, I check my ticket for the seat and sit down near the window. I closed my eyes taking a deep breath as the pilot begins to speak. "We are about to leave in five minutes, please take your seats and buckle up, thank you" I turn my phone off and sink further into my seat, this is going to be a long flight. ******** After a long flight I finally was able to stretch my legs. I genuinely forgot how to walk it was that long. "Emma! Emma!" Mum started shouting across the airport making everyone stare. I turn around and begin walking towards the exist pretending it wasn't me. I know that was rude of me but put yourself in my shoes... wouldn't you be embarrassed? "Taxi!" I yelled making loads of them stop near me. I started walking towards one when my mum shouted my name again "EMMA!" "Yes?" I said so innocently "WHY DIDN'T YOU WAIT FOR ME?" She yelled... I swear if looks could kill, I'd be on the floor covered with blood "I...er.... I was calling a taxi for you so that when you managed to get out it would be easier for you" I lied "Really? Who are you fooling Emma? I'm your mother, I know you were embarrassed by me and that's why you left correct? " "Er... erm...no?" You know when mum's just give you that look where they know your lying and they want you to tell them the truth... yeah that's what my mum looks like right now. "Okay... I'm really sorry but on the bright side you can pick which taxi you want" We walked toward a taxi of my mum's choice and left to go see our new house. ******** "You're seriously going to give me the bigger room?" I asked so excitedly "Yes...I know you didn't want to move so to make it up to you I'm letting you have the bigger room and I have already made plans to drive you to the shops tomorrow after your first day of school so you can pick out the paint and wallpaper you want to decorate your room." "Thank you so much mum... I love you so much! You are literally the best mum ever" I said running up towards my new room. "Oh I'm getting take out, what food you want?" Mum yelled.. "Order Chinese" I said back As I entered my room it felt as though I was in another world. The room was so big and it was an en suite. I am never leaving this room again. "Honey, come down to eat" Mum yelled Ugh! Just after I literally said I'm never leaving this room again. Can't she at least let me have one minute? "Coming" I yelled back. We were eating dinner in silence, not one of us saying a word to each other "So, er... you excited to start your new school tomorrow?" Mum said breaking the silence. "I guess" I simply replied take another bite of my food. After I finished eating, I walked upstairs and began to stalk my new school.
