Chapter 9: A New Friend

Darylle's POV:

"Where could she be?" Xander said through our mind-link. "I don't know. She's not in our class. I already did like fifty missed calls." I replied.

"Where could my poor mate be? I wanted to be there for her and I suck!" Sky said. "Nonsense Crypton, it's not your fault!" Shine told Sky. "Gwen ruined everything. She really deserves to have a broken nose!" Kyle said.

I was about to answer back when someone greeted me. "Hey Darylle" the female voice said. I turn around and I saw Danielle. It feels like nothing happens. "She's here and she's OKAY!" I mind link them. "WHAT!" they all shout.

"You okay Danielle?" I asked. She gave me a smile "Yeah! Why do you ask?" she asked. "You know?" I said trying to see if she gets my point but just she giggled. "Darylle, even though everybody knows my life, it doesn't mean that I have to be down. Since Gwen ruins my life, I ruin her nose. So, I guess were even," she chuckled. "Yeah, you're right. She deserves that!" I said.

Last subject is gym, not my favorite, but at least we are complete. We make sure that Danielle is okay. And as far as we can see, she doesn't care anymore. “I won't let my past ruin my present and my future" she told me.

Barrier in the outside but breaking in the inside. So to cheer her up, we decided to have a pizza night. It is also a celebration of her as the new member of our pack. Ms. Odette is teaching us the history of the popular weapons in the centuries. She also has some dummies for training purposes. But let’s be honest, I wasn’t even paying attention. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted when Ms. Odette called Danielle in front.

As Danielle went in front some our classmate starts talking about her. While us on the other hand, are trying very hard just to be calm.

"Ms. Everdyn, try hitting the dummies using this bow and arrow." Ms. Odette orders her. As she grab the bow and one arrow. Clayton, one of the students shouted. “Yeah, try hitting something. Oh wait! I forgot you're the one who almost got hit." Our entire classmate started to laugh, except for us.

We were angry that Clayton making fun of Danielle. Ms. Odette tries to stop the whole class from laughing but instead they laugh even harder.

Danielle looked at us, and I was referring to Xander, Sky, Shine, Me, Kyle, Trevor, and Jaden, and shaje her head. We didn't understand what she meant by that. But we saw Xander nodded. "She wants to handle this herself! Please trust her on this" he mind-link us.

When we all approve on her decision she smile back at us. Then Clayton insulted Danielle again. "Are going to hit or are you waiting someone to HIT you?" He shouted. This made the class laugh even harder.

Clayton kept on laughing until an arrow flew straight close to his cheeks. Everyone gasped in shocked including us and Ms. Odette. Because of what happen, Clayton is looking very pale. We all realize that Danielle was the one who shoot an arrow on him.

Everyone looked at Danielle, who has this glared. "What's the matter Clayton? It looks like you've seen a ghost or did you actually saw one?" Danielle smirked.

“Didn’t I tell you that Danielle is a champion when it comes to archery?” Xander asked through mind link. "Wow! That’s so cool!" I answered and the pack agrees.

“She is one bad ass girl.” Shine said. “Remind me to never get her mad.” Kyle said. “She maybe a human but she is scary” Trevor added. “That reminds me, we can burn all the bows and arrows we have?” Jaden mentioned. “Proud mate here.” Sky smirked.

Clayton gulped; we were able to see his Adam’s apple go down. “If I was you, I would be shutting my mouth so I don't get HIT by an arrow." she teased. Clayton was terrified; he just nodded and didn't say anything more. Ms. Odette was about to say something but lucky the bell rang.

It’s time to go home now.

Danielle' POV:

After I punch Gwen, I step out of the cafeteria and hide my face. I'm sure that it will be the talk of the school. But while I was hiding, I remember what Knight would always say "Stay Fierce and Stand High.” I'm not letting anyone step on me and instead, I will be the one stepping on them. So I fix myself and attend my class with my chin up.

After school Darylle volunteered to help me with some of my stuff. He also wanted to make sure that I’m fine. After what Gwen did at the cafeteria, I feel like I have no face to show but good thing Knight was there.

Darylle and I went to Xander's small cabin to get my stuff and as expected the cabin was still warm cozy and neat. "Do you want to come inside?" I offered Darylle but he refuse. He told me that he will wait outside so I guess I have to hurry up. I went straight to my room and pack my stuff as fast as I can.

As I close my suitcase I heard a growl. I thought it was only Darylle but when I turn around, I was shocked to find out that it wasn’t Darylle but a semi bald guy that I never seen in my life. "Who are you? How did you get in?" I asked.

I can tell that the guy knows that I'm scared at the very moment. He didn't say anything but he just took a step while I took a step back. He notice and gave me a smirked. “Oh! Is the princess scared?" he teased. Suddenly we both heard a growl and I as turn, Darylle pop out of nowhere and immediately pushed me behind him. He was already in attack form.

"Back off!" Darylle growled. The guy just smirked and snaps his fingers. Without seconds, there came seven person using there inhuman speed. "That's her!" a guy with medium brown hair said, pointing at me. Great! I just had a hard day and what will I get eight rogues that are looking for me.

The semi bald hair guy stared at me as his eyes turns into pitch black. I gulped; feeling the fear going down through my throat. "W..W...What do you want from me? I asked. Darylle noticed it and growled at them. "Stay away from her!"

"You stay away from this wolf. I'm only here for the girl." The semi guy said. He just keeps staring at me with so much anger and I didn't even know what I did. "What did you want from me?" I asked with a confused look.

Hell! I didn't know this guy yet he knows me. He kept on staring at me until a thirty year old guy, I think, hand him an arrow and not just any arrow, MY ARROWS! My eyes widen as I saw my arrows. I cover my mouth with my hand. "I found this in my brother's neck!" The guy said.

Using his bared hands he tightens his grip until the arrow broke into two. “You killed him. You killed my brother!" he yelled.

Tears are falling down and I can't say anything. I'm shocked! I kept on shaking my head as I can't believe I just killed his brother. When Knight was down, I forgot the three rogues that attack me. I forgot I killed a human. "They attacked her first. She was only protecting herself.” Darylle said, snapping me out from confusion.

"I'm sorry if killed your brother. I didn't intend to, he was the one who attacked me first. I was just defending myself." I shouted. With the look on their faces, they didn’t believe me. "Now, I'm going to kill you." he said. And with that said, I felt like I've seen a ghost.

Even though I can't see myself, I can feel that my skin turned pale the moment he said that. "Over my dead body." Darylle growled. He is still in an attack position ready to shift any moment.

The guy just smirked and snaps his bones "very well" he said. They were about to collide when a golden brown wolf came right through the window.Glass were scattered everywhere, my window is now broken. At least the wolf wasn’t hurt. The golden brown stared at me and I as I looked into his eye, it was just like “Knight" I whispered.

I guess I was right, the wolf just went beside Darylle and howled. Trevor, Jaden, Kyle and Sky, who looked really worried and really angry, came. "Darylle, jump through the window. Get Danielle away from here. Make sure she’s in a safe place." Sky said. Was it just me or he doesn't sound like Sky anymore. Darylle got my suitcase and hold my hands "Yes! Alpha" he said.

Using his inhuman speed, we jump through the window. I can hear the sound of clothes tearing apart as we approach the car. He throw my suitcase in the backseat and when he was about to close it, a wolf appeared and tackled him down.

"Darylle” I screamed. "Danielle run!" he shouted back as his throw some dirt on the wolf that made wolf step back. Darylle shifted into a red brown wolf. He looked at me and growl. I didn't know what he just said but I'm guessing he wants me to run. I run as fast as I can but to my bad luck, a wolf appeared out nowhere and tackle me down.

He was about to bite me when another wolf tackled him. This time, it was a beautiful light brown wolf. The light brown was so quick it pinned the rogue down and bit its neck.

I thank the wolf and it nodded. Then the light brown wolf turns its head into the wood. I'm guessing it wants me to run through the wood. I nodded at the wolf and started running. I run as fast as I can. I kept on running without looking back. I run like my life depend on it; actually it did, until I trip on something.

I stand up and dust myself but this time I didn't run. I looked at my surrounding and I just realized that I'm again in the middle of nowhere. I'm alone and there is no one was there to protect me. Trying to familiarize myself, I was hoping that I would find my way back but instead I'd go deeper in the woods. Crap! No signal! I don't like this anymore, I wanted to go home.

Suddenly, I heard a howl. I didn't know why but feet follow that howl. Minutes passed, I heard another howl. I hope it came from a Black Winter Pack but instead I found one platinum blonde wolf bleeding and tied up.

The wolf is with a hunter. He took the last arrow on the wolf's body which made the wolf howl in pain again. I have to save the wolf.

So, I quickly grab a rock a sneak upon the hunter. The hunter may have sense my approach so he turn around but as he turn around, I quickly smack his face with the rock. I quickly scan his body for anything useful. Just my luck, I saw two sharp sai weapons. I hid it behind my back for protection.

I grab his bow and arrow and untie the wolf. The wolf suddenly shifts into a girl, about our age. Her hair was platinum blonde, just like her fur and her eyes are icy blue. She’s really beautiful.

"You're the one who killed my brother!" she said as she steps back. I too, took a step back knowing she might attack me. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to kill your brother!" I said.

"It's not your fault. He was out of his mind. My pack is the White Valley Pack. We were kidnapped with some guys I never saw. They are all wearing some kind of cloak with a hood or whatever you called that. I'm only girl who got kidnapped so they let me witness everything." She said as she started to cry so I ran by her side to comfort her.

“It’s okay. You don't have to continue." I said wiping her tears. “No, you must know everything. I don’t want you blaming yourself for everything. I'm Xaria, by the way." she said. "I'm Danielle." I replied back. “And, I’m sorry.”

She shook her head. “Don't be. When we got kidnapped we are wearing a blindfold so we didn't know where we are. But like I've said a while ago, I was the only one who witnesses everything. They injected something on my brothers that made them like that and the only cure is killed them." she said.

"Who are this people?" I asked. "I wished I knew.” She said. “We don’t have anyone in our mind. My brothers were the only family that I have. I can’t believe they did this to them. I love my brothers so much. I don't want to see them suffering that pain. I tried everything but I don't know my brothers anymore, the moment they got injected they've turn into monster. Please help- “but she was interrupt when someone shouted her name.

“XARIA!" shouted the voice. We both got up and turned and there I saw him. The semi-bald guy that wants me dead. "Marcus, please stop. You're out of your mind." Xaria yelled back.

He shifted into a wolf and uses his inhuman speed to get to us. But when he was about to attack me, Xaria push me so she was the one who got scratch and fell down. Her head bump into the nearest rock which made her unconscious.

Marcus looked at Xaria for a few second and then focused back on me. I took one sai out but Marcus was so fast he was able to tackle me down that causes me to lose the weapon.

I tried with all my might not to get scratch. Using my bare hands, I tried to cover Marcus mouth so he couldn't bite. Then I use my feet to kick his stomach that made him step back I quickly took my other sai from my back and stab his paw.

This made him fall and howl in pain. I suddenly shoot him with an arrow on his side. After that, I carefully walk beside him. Marcus is now in his human form. I was about to finish him off when Xaria covered Marcus.

I'll let a tear drop as I drop my bow. "I'm sorry Xaria." I said wiping my tears. "She weakly smiled at me then faces her brother. Marcus brushes her sister's hair "Xar... ia" he said catching his breath. "Marcus, don’t leave me." She said holding Marcus hand.

Marcus didn't say anything. he just wipe her tear and took the sai from his hand that I stab on him. He gave it to Xaria. "Do it while I still can control my body." Xaria shake her head indicating she doesn’t want to kill his brother. “You have no choice.” Marcus said. Even though Xaria doesn’t want to, she took the sai from Marcus. ”I love you so much. You and Ethan are everything to me. I will make sure that I'll get my revenge. They will pay for this." She said.

Marcus looked at me "Danielle right?" he asked. I nodded and he smiled at me. "I'm sorry about earlier. Please, take good care of my baby sister." he said. “I will! And, I'm sorry for killing your brother." I said.

Marcus looked at Xaria "Do it now." Xaria started to cry "I love you so much." she sob. “Our parents will be proud of you. We will always be right by your side." he said as he close his eyes. Xaria stab his brother until he was cover with his own blood.

"MARCUS! MARCUS!" she shouted. I walk towards her in order to help her stand. I took her to the nearest shed and comforted her. Minutes later, it started raining, Xaria then shift into a wolf and howl. Her howl is full of sadness and pain. She then quickly shifts back into a human.

I took a jacket from the hunter's bag and cover Xaria with it. Because of exhaustion, she fell asleep. On the other hand, I was wide awake making sure that we are safe.

My body is so tired and wanted to rest but I can't. I need to stay awake. Just then, I heard a familiar voice approaching our way. Xaria woke up from the noise “someone here." she said. We both slowly stood up but was relief when we saw Knight, Sky and, Trevor.

Knight rushes towards me, gave me a hug me and kiss my head. "Thank God! You’re safe. I thought I'd lost you." he whispered. I looked at him and thank them for finding us.

I looked at Xaria and smile. “We’re safe now. This is Xander my brother and bestfriend." I said. Knight nodded and thanked Xaria for everything. Before we left, she slowly looked at where she buried Marcus and smiled. I grabbed her hand and told her that I will kept my promise. Xaria smiled at and nodded.

Morning came, it was bright and a sunny day compare to yesterday. I went to Xaria's room to check on her. I open her door and I saw her wide awake. "Morning" I said weakly. She looked at me and gave me a fake smile. We both apologized at each other and started to get to know each other. Instantly, we just clicked at that very moment and became friends.

We had a painful day yesterday but today we were happy that we are friends. I again promise her that I will kept my promise and help her with her revenge. Just then someone bang her door and what a surprise Darylle just barged in, followed by Knight, Sky, Shine, Trevor, Jaden, and Kyle.

"Mate!" he growled.
