Chapter 18

Much time had passed since Aiden had returned Randall to the academy with James. During this time there had been no further reports of any incidents involving Randall, however Aiden was not convinced this meant nothing had happened, more likely he had just not been caught or managed to keep it below the radar. The hope and trust were gone now, Aiden’s hopes and expectations had drastically changed since his meeting with the Elder, and he still battled with himself to what he had to decide regarding his son’s fate.

Aiden had watched Nile continue to thrive, he was an outstanding fighter and a natural leader. The entire pack respected him, and members would go to him for guidance before they brought their problems to Aiden most of the time now, this made Alpha life much easier and allowed Aiden time to focus on bigger pack issues, and business. He was certain Nile had actually thrown a fight against him that morning as he had him to a point of submission and let go stating he had got cramp in his leg, allowing Aiden to pin him so Nile submitted. He was certain he did it to save face and out of respect for his Father and Alpha. Nile was as big as Aiden now, but in Aiden’s opinion stronger and faster due to his young age. Nile was everything Randall was not, educated, strong, patient, empathetic, trustworthy, loyal and put the pack needs and traditions above his own. His relationship with Lily stood testament to this as he had respected tradition regarding her purity until he fully knew she was his mate. A tough thing to do for a loved up, hormone filled teenage wolf!

It was just four months off Niles 16th Birthday now, and today was the day that Randall would be returning to the pack. There were mixed feelings about this, and Aiden’s feelings were uneasy where as Angela was excited and had planned a welcome home party for him. Aiden hoped he would return to find his true mate and that he would then be able to put his past antics behind him, focusing on his other half and blessed with the love the goddess bestowed on him. He hoped with him finding his true mate he would become the wolf he prayed he would be, he had prayed to the Goddess every single day since that night he returned Randall to the academy. Aiden hoped, if Randall could become a better wolf, destiny would be kind and allow both sons to live in peace side by side and he would not need to choose who lived or died. Randall was almost 18 and had become of age whilst at the academy, with no mate there Aiden hoped she was here and his fresh start when he returned.

‘’Aiden… AIDEN!’’ Angela’s voice broke Aiden’s chain of thought.

‘’Sorry dear, I was miles away’’ he responded apologetically.

‘’Yes so I see.. what is playing on your mind my love, can I help?’’ she said with eyes filled with concern as she slowly walked around the desk and sat on his lap.

Aiden smiled and drew in her scent to calm him; a mates’ scent and touch had a magical power to calm their mates. Aiden felt his anxiety reduce instantly, but it didn’t leave entirely.

Angela pulled his face to hers gently and kissed him, she poured her love and need into his very soul with that kiss. They had not been very intimate since the troubles started and had felt it cause a distance between them as they both had their minds elsewhere. This single kiss had surfaced all the need, lust and love they have always instinctively shared.

Aiden held the back of Angela’s long slender neck to deepen this kiss as he let out a soft growl. Angela repositioned herself so she was straddled across Aiden and could feel his reaction to her intensify. Her core ignited at the sensation of his member through his trousers. Angela broke the kiss but continued to keep her eyes on Aiden as she unbuttoned her blouse, watching his hungry eyes take her in as he licked his lips wanting to devour her.

‘’You are so beautiful my Luna’’ Aiden said in a breathy sexy deep voice which made Angela smile seductively.

‘’Show me how beautiful you think I am Alpha...’’ she whispered softly to his ear her breath tickling his sensitive ear lobe with her lips grazing softly as she spoke.

Aiden stood lifting her with him as he crashed his needy moth on hers, he couldn’t remember the last time he had felt the passion they were feeling right now. He ran his arm over the desk, and everything crashed to the floor, he then placed Angela down softly lifting her skirt to her waist to expose her white silk French panties. He kissed his way up her inner thigh and she let out soft moans as she gripped his hair and shoulder. Aiden was about to rip her panties off and devour Angela with his mouth when the door knocked.

Aiden flopped his head on Angela’s thigh ‘’You got to be shitting me’’ his muffled voice said.

He looked up and saw her buttoning her blouse back up, and her puffy pink mouth smiling.

‘’Duty calls Alpha, but we will continue this when you have wrapped up the office for the day’’ and she leant to peck his forehead lovingly.

The door knocked again

‘’WHAT?!’’ he shouted, which made Angela laugh at her beloved mate’s frustration.

The door crept open to reveal a small, shaken Lily holding a tray with a plate filled of delicious food and some cakes along with a large coffee.

‘’I am sorry for intruding Alpha, but you missed lunch and didn’t eat much breakfast so I brought some food for you. I thought you might have been super busy and missed the lunch session and didn’t want you to be hungry… It was stupid of me; I should have called your office first’’ Lily spoke in almost a whisper

‘’Lily that is so very thoughtful of you sweetheart, you are right Alpha needs to keep his strength up after all’’ Angela stated as she stepped away from the desk winking at Aiden making him flush.

Lily gave a small smile to Angela, she liked her even though she felt there was double meaning to her statement she didn’t feel quite as much of an i***t for trying to be nice to the Alpha.

‘’I must apologise to you Lily; I shouldn’t have shouted when you knocked... I thought you were Beta James. I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness and looking after me. You have a heart fit for a Luna’’ Aiden smiled, he had also hoped that Lily and Nile would be mates in a few months, he loved how good she was for Nile.

Lily looked at Aiden in panic, it was then he realised what he had said and how she didn’t know he had new intentions of passing the title to Nile over Randall... she must be thinking I want her to be with Randall poor kid.

‘’Lily… I meant…’’

Lily quickly laid the tray on a near by table and bowed her head

‘’I must get back to help everyone in the kitchens prepare for the party, please excuse me’’ Lily’s voice trembled as she spoke and she bolted out of the office not waiting to be excused, leaving Aiden and a puzzled looking Angela.

‘’That was weird’’ Angela said to Aiden.

‘’No, it wasn’t really. I was insensitive, think about what I said baby’’ Aiden looked at Angela waiting for the penny to drop. She still looked puzzled as she said ‘’You were very sweet, you said she had the heart of a Luna, that’s a compliment!’’

‘’Yes darling, but now think who Lily thinks is going to be next Alpha…’’

‘’Oooh…. Yeah, now I get it.  Oh goddess, probably not the best thing to have said to the poor girl after all. You had good intentions though darling’’

Aiden rubbed his face frustrated.

‘’Eat this lovely food she went to the trouble of making for you, I am sure she will be fine. Get Nile to explain you only meant she had a kind heart; he is always with the girl these days.’’ Angela smiled knowingly, and Aiden’s face softened.

Aiden reached out to her and pulled her close ‘’No matter if there are 100 Lunas after our reign, non will be as wise, caring or beautiful as you are my love. Thank you’’ and he kissed her softly.
