Chapter 5

The next day Nile woke up, he washed and got himself ready to go to breakfast. He hoped Lily would be there and she would talk to him again today. He didn’t bother waiting for his family to go down this morning as they normally waited for one another on the Alpha suite landing. Nile tried to look casual as he took 2 steps at a time to get down as soon as he could, he tried to look unpanicked as he walked into the dining room and saw no Lily setting up, and he really really tried to look uninterested as he peered trough the kitchen door to see if she was helping in there. She wasn’t here, damn it he thought. He walked back into the dining room and grabbed a plate, as he walked slowly down the side of the buffet table choosing what to have he heard a gentle sound of someone quietly clearing their throat. He peered over the table and saw a small person.. he couldn’t see them clearly so lifted the table cloth. Lily almost jumped out her skin.

‘’Bloody hell, you frightened the life out of me Nile. What the earth are you doing’’ she squealed.

‘’Say the girl sitting on the floor hidden by a table cloth’’ he smiled

Lily stood with a hand full of cutlery and a white cloth.

‘’I was polishing this you i***t, but my legs were tired so I put myself on the floor’’ she smiled back at him a little awkwardly.

‘’Well that’s OK then, I was worried you were hiding from me.’’ He instantly blushed at his own words which then Lily tried to hide a smile and blushed too.

Just as the awkward silence almost killed them, Helen walked over with a basket filled with baguettes.

‘’Well aren’t you two cute as buttons’’ she giggled as she walked past and Lily’s face went from pink to bright red.

‘’Oh you are a real comedian Mom’’ she mumbled. As in hope to save her from further embarrassment Nile asked ‘’So were you busy yesterday with it being a rainy day, I had hoped you would have joined us. I mean you didn’t have to of course but um yeah I hoped you would have’’

He rubbed his neck, he looked as awkward as she felt.

‘’yes it was crazy busy yesterday, but you saw how busy it was as you were here for each service too’’ s**t she thought I pretty much just admitted I looked for him each service! She really wanted to hold her head in her hands or crawl back under the table from where he found her.

‘’Hey I get it, so um its my birthday next week. I have to have a stupid party. Would you come, I know you don’t normally attend but it would be great if you’d make an exception this year. He asked with a pleading look, he looked straight into her eyes.

Before she could think a single reason not to say yes she opened her mouth and said ‘’I would really love to be with you on your birthday’’ Niles smile went from ear to ear, and his eyes sparkled. Nile s eyes were hypnotising her but then she heard 8 words that would make her smile for the rest of the day ‘’ I would love to be with you everyday ’’ embarrassed and blushing Nile realised what he had said. ‘’Um, I am gonna go before I make this weird Lily, Goddess um, sorry Lily’’

Lily smiled and spoke while smiling a dazzling smile  ‘’I will see you at your party then’’ her heart was thumping, her knees felt weak. He likes me, he must really like me! She thought as Nile walked off and she noticed a figure out the corner of her eye… Randall stood still like a statue, staring at her expressionless.

Lily was socially awkward but how she felt at this very moment knocked her to the pit of her stomach. She felt as if he wanted to hurt her, she couldn’t explain it as he didn’t touch, talk or show any emotion, but his eyes were burning into her skin. She felt dirty, tainted and just wrong. She wanted to rush into the kitchen to go to her Mom, but she would have to walk past him, she didn’t want to do that. What if he grabbed her, she looked around for the other cooks, they had their backs to her and were near him. Panic started to rise within her, why is he staring at me like this. Just then the twins Kit and Billy walked over and started filling their plates. Kit looked at her and said ‘’Hey, are you OK? You look like you are going to pass out, Billy, grab a chair for this girl I don’t think she is very well.’’ Billy swiftly got a chair and Kit looked around the room to see where she was looking, he followed her eyes o see Randall, smirking the most evil grin he had seen. He looked around and saw Nile sat with his back to him and rushed to him while Billy stayed with Lily.

‘’ Nile, sort your brother out, look what he is doing to that poor girl over there! He is staring at her like he is possessed’’ Niles head span round to see Randall and followed his gaze to a pale Lily with tears filling her beautiful eyes.

‘’Go get her Mom Helen in the kitchen.. NOW’’ Nile shouted as he stood to rush to Randall. He launched himself at Randall breaking his wicked stare.

‘’What the f**k do you think you are doing pup, I will rip you in half!’’ Randall boomed making the whole room drop to silence. Just as Nile raised his fist Alpha Aiden grabbed his arm and Luna Angela stepped between the two brothers. ‘’He is a f**king sicko, look at him’’ Nile shouted and a wicked grin crossed Randall’s face. ‘’Not bothered by her eh Brother’’ he whispered to which Nile roared.

Angela looked at her two sons in absolute shock and disbelief ‘’Get to your room Randall now’’ she demanded, and Randall calmly nodded and walked off, Aiden nodded at James and he followed Randall. Aiden leant into Niles ear and said ‘’we are going to calmly go to my office and you are going to tell me what the hell is going on’’ the three left, but Nile couldn’t resist to look back and see if Lily was ok, Billy and Kit were stood either side of the chair Lily sat on while Helen was knelt in front of Lily, she was sobbing into her hands which were covering her beautiful face. As if she felt his look, she lifted her head and saw him as he left and mouthed two words -Thank you.

Once in the Alpha office Aiden lost his calmness and boomed ‘’What the F**k was that Nile, why would you strike your Brother inside the house for one and two why were you both ready to rip each others throats out?!’’

Nile took a breath; Lily was safe and that’s all that mattered. Nile straightened himself and looked his father, his Alpha in the eye.

‘’Alpha, your son is a sick, twisted predator to female pack members and it is disgusting. He terrorises many unranked females and has now started doing this to a female I hold very dear and I snapped seeing her terrified, I apologise that I lost control and did not handle the situation well, but I feel very drawn to her and suspect she will turn out to be my true mate’’ When he finished his words he waited to see his father’s reaction, he didn’t mean to say the latter part but hey it was true, even if his gut was wrong, its what he felt at this moment.

His Father now let out a breath he Nile hadn’t noticed he had been holding in and his Mother had taken a seat in a close chair.

‘’You realise it is rare a wolf knows his mate before they shift at 16 Nile?’’ Aiden said calmly.

‘’With respect Dad, that is the least of the concerns I just stated, I am aware I may very well be wrong but I do feel a slight fuzz when I touch her, not sparks but a fuzzy static like sensation.’’

Aiden took a moment before he responded, as he took a seat and gestured to another chair for Nile to take he spoke ‘’Well, it stands a chance you may be right. But yes, you are right. Randall is future Alpha and should respect and protect all members of the pack, ranked or not. He should not be terrorising them. I will discuss this further with your Mother and Luna.’’

Nile nodded in respect dropping his eyes to his Fathers chest ‘’Thank you for hearing me out Alpha, I will respect your decision as always..’’ he turned to his mother who looked like she was close to tears ‘’Mother, I apologise for you being shamed by my actions and having to hear of this in this manner’’ he stood tall and rested his hands behind his back with his feet shoulder width apart, a signal that he had finished speaking and was awaiting his Alphas next instruction.

Aiden rubbed his face clear at war with the decision he was going to have to make further upsetting his mate.

‘’You know Nile, I often wish you were my first born. You have the makings of a great Alpha. Please keep away from Randall and the girl today.  Firstly, I don’t want my son’s having a fight and secondly, that girl needs to be away from you two.’’ Aiden nodded in dismissal and Nile nodded in response, turning and leaving the room, as he closed the door he quietly spoke, loud enough only a wolf would hear. ‘’I am truly sorry Mom’’

Aiden looked at Angela, and knew she wasn’t going to like what he was about to say but to his surprise she said ‘’He has to go Aiden’’ tears fell from her eyes ‘’ If he actually rapes a pack member, he will be put to death by law, even more so if she is under age. He needs to go, send him to the academy now, they might be able to sort him out’’

Aiden felt a rush of relief but hid it well ‘’That is what I was thinking but I wasn’t sure you would go with it my love’’ he walked around his desk and knelt before her, pulling her close while her heart broke at the realisation that the baby, her first born was in fact a monster.

Aiden mind linked James to bring Randall to his office in 10 minutes.

He stood and kissed Angela softly as she closed her eyes and large hot tears fell.

Aiden walked to his desk and picked up the phone.

‘’I am making the call baby’’ and then he dialled the academy and informed them of the situation and the need to send Randall 3 months early. The academy head agreed this was a sensible decision and stated Randall could be granted admission the next day.

Just as Aiden hung up the phone he got a mind link from James.

‘’ALPHA, HE IS GONE!’’
