Thirty-Three ‘You need to lie down,’ Justice said, wriggling around in the back of the vehicle to make space for Jackson. ‘I’m fine. I had a sleep in the back of Hanson’s truck. Remember?’ ‘That was before I stuck a needle in your arm and drained half your blood. You need to rest.’ ‘She’s right,’ Major Wallace said. ‘You look like s**t, which is the last thing you want when you come face to face with General Butcher.’ On one hand, Justice was pleased the major’s words made Jackson reconsider his stubbornness and lie down. On the other, she didn’t trust the warden who had been instrumental in spiriting the man she loved away from Harlington. He may have decided Jackson was innocent and that what General Butcher was up to was wrong, but he was still a warden, and he hadn’t told Jackson
