Multiple Personality

Layla Whispercrest Still very much in Alpha Jaxon’s arms, I could feel electricity ooze through me. It made my body vibrate and I felt a smirk on his face. He lifted me in a bridal style suddenly taking me to the bed. I wriggled my brows at him wondering what else he was up to only for him to descend the bed too. “And what if I want to go back... to my pack?” I muttered. “Not possible.” he muttered, coming down to my forehead. He placed his lips firmly there, kissing me softly. “You’re mine, Layla, my prized possession. I won’t risk that if I were you.” Something told me that beneath that voice was threat, something far worse than this special treatment I seemed to be getting here. “Alpha Jaxon, I-“ “Not another word,” he cut me off taking my lips in his, pausing a bit, “Let’s enjoy this little moment,” My heart pounded rapidly the minute he said those words. I stared up at him. This time, I noticed his pupils weren’t dilated as before. It seemed... It was as if it was two different people talking. “Didn’t you say I wasn’t supposed to enjoy it?” I uttered staring at him with suspicion. “I never said you couldn’t.” he said with a brief smile. “B-but you said so the other day, you clearly said I wasn’t supposed to.” I said wondering why he couldn’t recall that. “I like my women, enjoying whatever pleasures I give them.” he said tracing his hands on my lower lip. My eyes widened that instant. At first I didn’t notice but it seemed like something was off. There was something split about him. About his personality. “Who am I?” I asked him. “Layla, you are my mate, Layla.” “Why did you abduct me from my pack the other day?” I asked once more. “I didn’t abduct you, that was Alexander.” At his reply I stared at him as if he was paranoid. “Alexander? Who is Alexander?” “Alexander is my wolf,” he uttered. “Far from being ordinary, treated like an outcast and scorned by our uncle all our life, he releases the darkest part of me.” “When does he come out?” I breathed out. “He comes out when I’m stressed, tense or don’t know what decision to make regarding a situation.” “You didn’t give me those rules, did you?” I blurted once more with startled eyes. “Nope.” “Then who gave me those rules. Was it perhaps Alexander?” I said startled at the turn of events. “Yeah,” he said nodding his head. Those words only meant one thing. Alexander was my problem not him. … “Summon me the pack doctor. I need you to do it discreetly.” I told Sophia. “Are you feeling unwell, my luna?” she said staring at me astonished. “I need something from him.” “Okay, I’ll do it as fast as possible” she let out. I watched her pat her auburn hair as she went out. Tapping my hands on my room’s table I waited patiently. “Luna, the pack doctor is here.” Sophia whispered discreetly. I went to the door replying, “He can come in.” An elderly man came in that instant. He gave the impression of an elderly man in his fifties from the hints of white hair that were at the sides of his hair. “Hello luna,” he said going to have a sit as I directed. “I invited you here today to ask you something important. I want you to be truthful to me, doctor.” “I’m all ears, and will serve you best, luna.” he muttered. “Is there anything like a split personality?” I asked curiously. “Yes luna. Also known as DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) or Multiple Personality Disorder, a split personality is a mental condition that is caused by trauma, or an event that led to the body being split into two. Sometimes, it might be more than one personality.” he said continuing, “But it is caused by emotional neglect. A split personality is usually because of something strenuous that led to the body being split into two or several parts to cope.”’ I widened my eyes bewildered at what the doctor had just said. Alpha Jaxon was in need of mental help? How...? “What can we do about this?” I said still in awe at what he had just said. “Treating the patient is the first step to getting rid of it. We need to merge the personalities so they function correctly.” “What if the patient is of a higher rank? Are you confident enough to treat him? Can I trust you, doctor?” I muttered thinking of all that had happened. “Is the patient the Alpha, luna?” he replied. Stunned at what he said I bolted my eyes. He knew something about it. “What do you know?” I asked. “That the Alpha won’t admit to his split personality. For the good of the pack, he’d rather risk his health.” he said. “Alpha Jaxon did that?” I muttered in response. “He insisted that no treatment should be made for him, and that he’d manage whatever disorder he had.” “B-But why?” I stammered this time asking. “I have no idea luna. But there was something I noticed.” “What was that?” “When the alpha said he wanted no treatment, he sounded more protective and violent. It was like a different personality.” “Alexander.” I muttered. “What??” “That is his alter ego, I think Alexander is his second personality.” Just as I said those words he brought out a note and pen. “Have you met this personality before?” he said. “Yes, a couple times, in fact Alexander is the one I have met in most of our interactions together.” “What did you notice about him?” “He was more controlling, bossy and wanted his way most of the times.” I said remembering everything. How Alexander made rules for me to follow each time. He was also the one who got me kidnapped. “Has he been violent with you?” the doctor asked. I searched for instances but found none. “No, I don’t remember him being like that. He only wants to be around me as my mate.” I said, in the mildest form possible. “When next he comes I want you to do something luna.” “What is that?” “I want you to ask him to merge with Alpha Jaxon. Ask him to reconcile with his other half for the sake of them both, can you do that?” I nodded my head, “I will try my best to.” “This lies in your hands luna, the fate of this pack,” he muttered looking at me with intense trust in his eyes. What if I wanted to go home?
