Chapter 12 - Grandpa

1258 Words
Exiting the village Hori and Kenshin, and their group’s new member the little daughter of Kenshin guided the survivors of the wolves incident to another village close were they could settle in peace. After dispatching all the survivors they headed to the kingdom’s capital to finish their mission and rest at home, the ladies of the destroyed village were super kind and prepared food for the rest of their travel so they could go straight without stopping to hunt anything. “Huum, this bread is sooo good, but i should control myself, if i get too fat Kenshin won’t find me pretty anymore and won’t marry me!” WIth iron-clad determination Hori pushed the bread inside the sack it was in before and shut her mouth so she would stay fit. “Nah Hori, eat if you find it good, just don’t overeat or we will have to hunt, well, i can always hunt and prepare something so overeat if you want, just be happy, and about looking pretty to me you will always look pretty no matter if you’re thin or chubby but i doubt you could get chubby with the amount of training you do aand…” Kenshin was just carelessly speaking while feeding his little girl some goat milk, because he heard it was the best apart from breast milk for babies, but hearing everything he was saying Hori had puppy eyes and was falling in love even harder. “Aaand i won’t marry you anyways so no need to look pretty so i will marry you, we’re friends and i have no romantic desire for you.” Gah! Hori felt like a knife pierced through her heart, such cute and kind words just to end with friendzoning her, but she wouldn’t give up on seeking her love. “You’re too blunt Kenshin! Huh, but you will fall for me soon enough, changing subjects, did you ask for the little girl’s name?” Hori looked at the cute baby in Kenshin’s arms, she already could walk a bit but for a really long travel it was impossible, and also she wouldn’t be able to catch up with the two adults because they were walking above sound speed, only by isolating the space around themselves could they talk freely and the little girl not be literally smashed by air pressure. “Well, I did ask it, but none of the survivors knew, the old lady knew the parents but just from a few conversations, they weren’t really close and hadn’t talked about the baby.” Shrugging Kenshin answered Hori’s question and laughed seeing the little girl in his arms do the same. “So, you should name her, you’re the father now right? It will be easy for her to adapt to a new name, she’s still so small so those changes are pretty much ok.” Playing a bit with the kid’s hair Hori left her own hair undefended and it got grabbed by the tiny hands, thankfully she could easily take out the tiny hands from her hair in a moment. “What do you think about Kyoko? Kyoko Tanaka, looks like a good name for a cute little girl don’t you think Hori? What about you my baby, do you think Kyoko is a good name for you?” Little Kyoko gave them a loud burp after she finished her milk and smiled widely at Kenshin after she called her Kyoko, while Hori’s face got red and she started crying her eyes out and expressed a smile that could catch anyone’s heart, even more with the beautiful sun rising as a background, the orange and purple colors on the sky accentuated her beautiful red dress. “Haha, I think litle Kyoko really liked the name, or maybe she just liked burping, we will never know, but I bet she likes it. And with that smile of yours I can say big Kyoko liked it too.” In his arms little Kyoko was full of energy after eating and Hori in his front dashed towards them hugging both while her tears wet Kenshin’s clothes. “Hey Kenshin, why did you choose this name for her?” Kenshin gave her a warm smile while Kyoko in his hands really liked the hug. “Ooh, good question, I just thought it was a good name that would really describe a strong, beautiful and really good woman. I remember this woman named Kyoko by my side when we were just 3 and still living in the streets, it was a long time ago don’t you think?” Before Kenshin and Hori were adopted by two different families they were like siblings living in the streets, Kenshin, Hori and the second strongest master which was just a toddler in the time too, Kenshin protected the group from anyone and had amazing strength even as a kid. “Ky-Kyko!” The little Kyoko in their embrace excitedly shouted her name, not perfectly but the most accurate reproduction she could do, making Hori and Kenshin burst into laughter. “Go for it my little Kyoko, you’re almost there, soon it will be easy for you to speak anything!” Kenshin didn’t know how he should behave as a father, but he tried to encourage her and was surprised to see Kyoko trying to imitate his face. “Love you Kenshin, really love you.” Whispering softly while hugging him, Hori confessed her love yet again, but instead of avoiding it this time Kenshin just quietly hugged her back and nodded. After some crying and pooping from Kyoko, some whining from Kenshin and Hori to clean it, after lots of overeating from Hori and some hunts by the end proceeded by Kenshin showing his otherworldly cooking skills, loots of flirting by Hori that Kenshin blatantly ignored and Kyoko walking some steps from time to time persevering even after falling, they reached their destination, the royal capital of Blue Phoenix Empire. The city’s gates were as tall as a dragon and the imposing walls were covered in precious jewels but made from the hardest rocks. The drawings on the gates showed a beautiful phoenix with her mouth being the opening part of the gate. Reaching the gates the guards easily recognized them and bowed quickly, Hori was the most talented daughter of an influent family which had a long story remounting to ancient times even before Blue Phoenix Empire existed, being the most talented daughter that soon would be one of the 128 masters, and Kenshin didn’t even need a background to be so respected, just being himself would outshine almost anything with his position as one of the top 20 masters and the youngest master. “Prince Kenshin, Milady Kyoko, in the name of Blue Phoenix city guards i welcome you back, hope the mission went smoothly without any problems” The guard captain went to welcome then personally, if Kenshin would already have a strong identity without a background, being the younger brother of the emperor and son of the former emperor completed his status to almost a godly level. “May I ask you who this cute little girl is?” Kyoko understood she was mentioned and from her position on Kenshin’s left side she hugged the guard’s legs making Kenshin and the captain both laugh. “She’s my daughter, I adopted her after her parents were killed by wolves, hehe, the mission wasn’t perfect, but I can give you details later, tell me, is my father here?”
