“YOU CAN’T DRIVE, CAPTAIN. You’re much too sick. Let’s call Dawn and see if she’ll come in. She can drive you and I’ll take the horses with Dickie.”
The Captain sits down sharply and wipes his hand across his forehead. “Perhaps you’re right Meredith. Wouldn’t help anyone if I crashed the car. Give her a ring.”
Dawn is horrified at our news. This is what she’s been trained for, she says. She’ll be at the house as fast as she can. I tell the Captain and Higgins that she’ll be along shortly.
