Blurb

Amelia Winters has always been comfortable in her own skin, proud of her curves and confident in her ability to take on the world. But when brooding lawyer Dominic Gray enters her life, everything she thought she knew about love and self-worth is called into question. He’s tall, handsome, and haunted by a past he won’t share, and Amelia can’t help but feel drawn to him—though she’s certain someone like him could never fall for someone like her.Dominic has built walls around his heart, scars from an old love keeping him distant and guarded. But Amelia’s unapologetic confidence and infectious warmth break through his defenses in ways he never expected. As their undeniable chemistry ignites, they must both face their deepest insecurities, learning that love is more than just perfection—it’s about acceptance, healing, and trusting in something real.In Unspoken Desires, two people, both broken in their own ways, discover that the power of love lies in the courage to be vulnerable, and the strength to embrace each other’s imperfections.

An encounter
Amelia Winters wasn’t used to being invisible. In a world that seemed to worship the slim, the lithe, and the perfect, she had long since decided that being noticed wasn’t the kind of attention she needed. She’d learned how to carry herself with an air of self-assurance, her curves the armor that shielded her from the harsh whispers and glances. She was more than just the size of her body. She was a designer, a creator, a woman of ambition—and no one would take that away from her. But standing in the crowded café, her fingers trembling slightly as she adjusted her oversized scarf, Amelia felt a shift in the atmosphere. The usual hum of chatter, the clink of mugs, the quiet shuffle of feet—all of it seemed to fall away as the door swung open. Her breath caught. He walked in like he owned the place. Tall, broad-shouldered, the dark lines of his tailored suit sharply contrasting with the warm, earthy tones of the café. His hair was dark, slicked back in a way that spoke of both class and carelessness. But it was his eyes—dark, almost black, with a stormy depth to them—that held her. His gaze swept over the room in a quick, calculating manner, as though everything and everyone was beneath his scrutiny. And then, for a split second, their eyes locked. It wasn’t the kind of look she was used to. It wasn’t pity or judgment or even the usual dismissive glance that most men gave her. No, this was different. It was a gaze that pierced her soul, made her heart beat erratically, and sent a strange warmth flooding her chest. She quickly averted her eyes, unsure of what to do with the sudden flood of emotions. She should look away, pretend it never happened. After all, men like him didn’t look at women like her. Not with interest, not with anything that could lead to something real. But as she turned back to the counter to grab her coffee, she felt his presence behind her. His footsteps were steady, purposeful, and yet there was something almost… reluctant about his approach. She could feel his eyes on her again, like a physical weight, though she refused to look up this time. Amelia didn’t need to see him to know he was there. The air had thickened with an almost palpable tension. “Excuse me,” A deep, gravelly voice broke through the hum of the café. Amelia stiffened at the sound, the familiar feeling of nerves twisting in her stomach. She didn’t turn around. She didn’t need to. She knew he was speaking to her. She could feel it. “Are you alright?” He asked, his voice low, a mix of concern and something else—something deeper that she couldn’t quite place. Her heart pounded in her chest, her breath hitching. She wasn’t sure if she should respond, if she should even acknowledge the question. She wasn’t some fragile, helpless woman in need of saving. She wasn’t the type to cry for attention or play the victim. But the way he said it… the way he looked at her—it made her feel like maybe she wasn’t quite as impervious to the world as she’d once thought. “I’m fine,” She muttered, her voice far steadier than she felt. She grabbed her coffee with a slight shake of her hand, hoping the movement would calm her nerves. There was a long pause. Then, in a move that surprised her, he took a step closer. She could hear his breath now, steady and calm, and it sent a rush of heat up her neck. “Amelia Winters,” He said softly, his voice smooth and deliberate. She froze. Her name. How did he know her name? She turned to face him, her hand tightening around the cup as she glanced up at him. He was standing just inches away now, close enough for her to smell the faint trace of his cologne—a rich, masculine scent that sent her senses into overdrive. She stared at him, searching his face for any sign of recognition. There was none. He wasn’t someone she knew. “I… I’m sorry,” She stammered, fighting the urge to step back. “Do we know each other?” He smiled, but it wasn’t the kind of smile that reached his eyes. It was tight, almost forced, like there was something heavy on his mind. Something buried deep beneath the surface. “You don’t remember me?” His voice was tinged with amusement, but it was the kind of amusement that seemed more like a challenge than a joke. She shook her head slowly. “I don’t think so.” He studied her for a moment, his dark eyes never leaving hers. And then, just as she thought the encounter was about to end, his gaze softened, and he stepped back slightly. “I guess I’ll have to introduce myself then. Dominic Gray.” He said, extending a hand in a smooth, practiced motion. Amelia hesitated for a moment, staring at his hand as if it might burn her if she touched it. But despite the confusion swirling in her mind, she found herself reaching out and shaking his hand. The contact was brief, but it sent a shock of electricity through her, and she quickly pulled away. “I’ve heard a lot about you.” He continued, his voice quieter now, almost contemplative. “And I have to say… I’m intrigued.” Amelia wasn’t sure if she was intrigued by him—or terrified. There was something about him that unsettled her, something about the way he looked at her as if he could see through the walls she’d spent years building. She didn’t know what it was, but she knew it felt like danger. “I’m sure you’re mistaken.” She said, forcing her voice to sound more confident than she felt. “I’m just a graphic designer. Nothing special.” But as she said the words, she saw the flicker of something in his eyes—something that made her blood run cold. Was it pity? Was it judgment? Or was it something more… something darker? She couldn’t tell. He didn’t respond at first. Instead, he simply nodded, his jaw tightening as if he was wrestling with some unspoken thought. “Well, Amelia.” He said, his voice heavy with a strange sort of intensity. “I’m looking forward to getting to know you better.” Before she could answer, he turned and walked away, his presence still lingering in the air long after he had gone. Amelia stood there for a long moment, the weight of his words echoing in her mind. She felt shaken, but more than that—she felt… exposed. And as much as she hated to admit it, she knew this wasn’t the last time she would see Dominic Gray. Something had just begun.
