I am still trying to take everything Ioana has said, the good news is we don’t need to search for the emblem, but the bad news is that Sullivan Black knew we were coming, and now these people, my people, are in danger.
Explosions from outside can still be heard.
I look around the room at all the families.
They are huddled together, and the look on their faces is a look I know very well.
Thinking back to our walk to and through the castle, we saw no one. Is this all that’s left? I look at my friends, “do you notice anything when you look at these people?”
Jed gives me a sad smile. “They look like us eight months ago. They are devastated.” Nodding, I lean into Xavier, he grins and says, “Yes!”
