Her Choice

Chapter 3

Cora POV

Slipping on the navy tight thigh length backless dress. I start to curl my long platinum blonde hair leaving it loose hanging down my back. I put on some light blush, eyeliner and mascara making my hazel green eyes pop. My porcelain white skin seems to be shining with my little bit of highlighter I placed on my cheeks on nose. I do my final touch and add my blood red non smudge matte lip stick. Taking a look at myself in my long mirror I have to say I love this dress. It fits me like a glove showing off my best assets my toned ass, small waist and perky breasts. I go to grab my nude pair of high heels that make my tones legs look longer. I do one more once over before I knock on my bathroom door.

“Miranda are you ready? It is time to leave.” I yell to her through the door.

“ I am ready” Miranda says as she opens the door.

“Dang girl my brother won’t be able to keep his hands off of you tonight.” I say giving her a big hug.

Miranda decided on a red dress that is strapless and goes to her mid thigh showing off her tan legs. She looks stunning. Her long black hair is in a slick back high ponytail showing on her long neck. Her beautiful thin figure on full display.

“Great! Because Robert is waiting for us at the dorm entrance.” I say grabbing my tiny wrist wallet. We start heading down the stairs and out to the main dorm entrance. Standing leaning on the wall is Robert. He is wearing black jeans and a tight v-neck shirt that shows off his sexy body. His crystal clear blue eyes shining in the night. He starts walking towards us his eyes never leaving mine.

“My sweets, you look amazing.” Robert says well licking his lips.

O god this is going to be a long night I think to myself.

“Huhmmmm…… I am here too” Miranda chuckles.

“O ya Miranda you are stunning as well. You ladies ready? My friend Alex is waiting for us at the car.” Robert reply’s as he starts to walk us to the parking lot.

Miranda and I hop into the back seat of the car and buckle up. Our new friends Becca and Taylor are meeting us at the bar. It will be nice to have more girls around. Specially because I am trying to avoid Robert and the awkward conversation we will be having about what happened this afternoon. Once we get to the car I take a deep breath. I am feeling nervous for some reason. Star won’t stop pacing in my head.

“What’s going on Star? Why are you so restless.” I say to her.

“Something is going to happen. I can feel it.” Star replies.

“Like what do you mean Star. Something bad?” I question her not knowing what to think of her weird behavior.

“Yes, I just have a feeling something bad is going to happen tonight.” Star replies.

“It is going to be okay Star we have Robert, Dylan and all our friends. Everything will be fine okay.” I say trying to calm my wolf.

“Okay Cora. You are right we will be okay.” Star sounding more like her self.

“Good lets go have some fun.” I say to Star as I follow Miranda into the bar. With Robert and his friend Alex right behind me.

Once we enter the bar I see my brother Dylan, Eric, Justin, Vince and the back of a stranger that I don’t recognize. Then it hits me the strong scent of clean mountain rain with pine. It is the most amazing scent I have ever smelt. It is coming from my bothers table. O god it is my mates scent. Wait I met all his friends except for the stranger that’s back is towards me. Right when I am about to walk towards the table the stranger turns around taking my breath away.

When Star yells in my head with such happiness “Mate.”

Ares POV

I am sitting with my boys having some beer celebrating my chosen mate Gina and our future pup. Life is good. Nothing can ruin this moment for me. To top if off my boy Dylan found his mate. I guess it was his little sister best friend. Everything is just coming together.

“Cheers to you Ares and Dylan! Congrats brothers.” Justin announces as we click our beer glasses together.

“I am happy for you guys.” Eric chirps in with a smile.

“Ya congrats!” Vince pipes in.

Thats a shocker. Vince isn’t big on the chosen mate thing but I know he is my boy and supports whatever I decide. Right when we were about to order another around of drinks I hear Dylan say.

“Yo the girls are here.” Dylan says as he gets up to head to the front door of the bar; and that’s when I smell it the sweet smell of Topical mist with coconut. The scent is consuming me. My wolf Carter is howling in happiness.

“Thats our mates scent! Mate..Mate…Mate” Carter keeps chirping with excitement.

What that’s impossible there is no way. My mate is here this can’t be happening. My heart starts to beat faster and then I turn around and there she is. The most beautiful women I have ever seen walking towards us. She is wearing a tight navy blue dress that shows off the most amazing toned body I have ever seen. Her hair almost white like the moon is curled running down her back to her tiny waist. I can see her dress is backless and her porcelain skin is on full display looking so soft. My mouth just turned dry like the desert and can’t even think.

“Go to mate! We need to claim her. She is ours!! All these men are staring at our mate!” Carter is trying to take over getting more angry by the second. Seeing our mate surrounded by all these werewolves lustful eyes was putting him on edge.

“Carter you need to calm down! We can’t just mark her. We have Gina and a pup on the way.” I try to reason with him.

“I never wanted Gina!! You did this to us. Our mate is finally here and she is prefect. I won’t let you reject her.” Carter barks at me.

“I am not going to reject her okay. We just need to figure this thing out. I need time to think.” I say pushing Carter and blocking him out.

FUCK!! This is not good. Vince was right I am about to lose my mate the moon goddess chose for me. I do love Gina she is going to be having my pup and possibly the future Alpha of my pack. I don’t know what to think right now. All I know is I am screwed. What am I supposed to say to my mate.

“You alright man? You look pale.” Vince says to me giving me a confused look.

“Ya ya! It is just hot in here now that everyone is coming.” I reply trying to play it cool.

“Hey who is that girl with the navy blue dress?” I ask Vince, Eric and Justin.

“O Thats Cora Dylan’s little sister. You know the one we were talking about yesterday.” Eric replies.

“She is smoking hot right?” Justin says making my blood boil.

“Don’t let Dylan hear you say that. He is lose his s**t again.” Vince replies laughing at Justins comment.

Great! Not only did I find my mate but it is Dylan’s little sister. I am supposed to be the one person he didn’t have to worry about and now I am her mate. This night can’t get any worse. Dylan walked up to the table with a dark haired girl who I assume is his mate and Cora his sister my mate. Standing behind my mate is two male werewolves one has blonde her blue eye and the other is a red head with green eyes.

“Ares! This is my mate Miranda, my little sister Cora, our childhood friend Robert and his friend Alex.” Dylan says with the biggest smile on his face.

“Nice to meet you all.” I reply as my eyes land on Cora’s beautiful face. Her red lips and hazel green eyes stirring all kinds of emotions in me. I am about to ask her if she wants to get a drink when I see the man behind her I believe Robert is his name places his arm around her waist. Making Carter growl loud. Everyone looks my way giving me curious looks. I see Cora turn to the man behind her and whisper something in his ear. The man removes his arm from around her waist and gives me a look. I don’t know what she told him but he doesn’t seem happy. Is he her boyfriend feeling anger boiling inside me. I feel my jealously and rage consuming me.

“So when is Gina getting here?” Dylan asks. I shoot him a look not knowing what to say.

“Uhhhh she will be here soon.” I say well looking back at my mate.

“Great I can introduce her to Miranda and Cora” He smiles as he replies.

“Who is Gina? Miranda asks to Dylan.

“She is Ares chosen mate and future luna.” Dylan replies making my whole body stiff. I see my mate look at me seeing sadness in her beautiful hazel green eyes. f**k! This has gotten so much worse.

“Remember I was telling you guys this morning at breakfast.” Dylan says to Cora and Miranda.

I see Cora’s eyes widen is realization. Right when I am about to say something. I see my mate grab Roberts hand and walk away. I feel my heart in pain like someone just stabbed me. Carter is loosing his s**t and I need to talk to her. I really f****d this up. I know if Dylan finds out I will also lose one of my best friends. Plus he might just try and kill me. I need to talk with Gina when she gets here before this turns into a worse mess.

Cora POV

My heart is breaking. I feel like I am going to be sick. I thought finding my mate would be the best day of my life. Yet here I am taking another shot with Robert trying to drink my sorrows away. I don’t want to feel this pain. I couldn’t stay at that table watching and hearing that my mate has someone else. I haven’t told Robert the whole story yet. I just whispered to him that I wasn’t feeling well. He knows me to well to know something else is happening but he didn’t push me. I am starting to feel the alcohol after about seven shots.

“Sweets I am going to the restroom. Will you be okay until I get back?” A look of concern is on Robert face as he runs his hand down my bare back trying to sooth me.

“Ya I will be fine Robert. Don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself.” I don’t know if I am saying that more to Robert or to myself.

“No more shots Cora. Look when I get back why don’t we dance okay.” Robert places a kiss on my forehead and he walks towards the bathroom.

I am sitting at the bar still trying to wave down the bartender to give me another shot.

“Hey Cora! I hear a familiar voice come from behind me. I turn to see Alpha Eric standing there in his dark blue jeans and back t-shirt that is so tight around his biceps it looks like the shirt could rip at any moment.

“Hey Alpha Eric!” I say trying not to slur my words.

“Cora what did I say about my name” Eric says giving me a big smile.

“Sorry Eric, it is a habit that’s hard to break.” I say

“Why are you hiding over here anyways? I had saved you a seat.” Eric says well leaning against the bar staring into my eyes.

“I…I… It was to crowded over there.” I finally say.

“I see. Well I told you I would buy you a drink and I never break my word.” Eric says giving me a smirk.

“So what do you want to drink love?” Eric asks me well waving to the bartender.

“I will have a shot of whiskey” I reply.

“So your a whiskey girl huh? Your a girl after my heart.” Eric says placing our order to the bartender.

“Yappp..“ I reply rolling my eyes at him. I know I shouldn’t take out my anger on Eric. It is Aries who I wanna punch in the face. Once we get our whiskey I waste no time in downing mine.

“Whoa that was fast.” Eric says. “Look is everything okay Cora? I know I just met you but you seem upset.” Eric gently grabs my chin pulling my face to look at him. I try to hold back my tears as my eyes start to water.

“Why don’t you tell me whats wrong? I am a good listener.” Eric says

Before I could say anything I hear someone clear their throat. I turn to see Robert standing there looking pissed off. Eric quickly moves his hand from my chin.

“Cora, wanna dance with me?” Robert asks me putting his hand out for me to take.

“Uh.. Ya sure!” Taking Robert’s hand I look back at Eric giving him a apologetic smile.

Robert and me head to the dance floor. I finally see Miranda and my brother dancing. I also see Becca dancing with Alex one of Robert’s friends and Taylor seems to be dancing with Vince. I look back to their table where I see Alpha Justin, Alpha Eric, and Alpha Aries at the table. Taking a deep breath I see a beautiful women sitting on Alpha Aries lap. Feeling Star whimpering in my head.

“Thats are mate! She has no right to be sitting on our mates lap. I am going to rip her apart.” Star yells with anger.

“Star I know you are hurting. So am I but we can’t do that. He chose her. He wants to be with her. He didn’t wait for us.” I say choking up my tears.

“We need to fight for our mate! He has to want us. The moon goddess made him for us.” She whimpering.

“Star I promise we will talk with our mate just not tonight. We both need time to think and make a decision on whats best for us. Okay, can you do this for me.” I tell her.

“Yes Cora,” As she blocks me.

“Sweets, What’s going on? And don’t lie to me. I know something is wrong.” Robert says as he wraps his big arms around my waist bringing me close as we start to dance to the music.

I look up into his big beautiful crystal blue eyes. Wanting to tell him everything. To have someone to talk to. Why couldn’t Robert be my mate. I can feel my heart breaking. Trying to not to break down. I whisper to him “Can we talk about this tomorrow. Can you just hold me.” I say placing my hands around his neck.

“Of course my Sweets. If you want we can leave. I can ask Alex if we can take his car and he can get a ride with Becca.” Robert whisper in my ear.

“Yes please. I am ready to go home.” As I take a deep breath to reply to him.

“Okay sweets, meet me at the front door. I am going to go let them know.” Robert says well he walks towards Alex and our little group.

I head to the front door and decide to wait outside. I need some fresh air. I walk out the door and stand leaning against the wall. When a intoxicating sent hits my nose. Great my mate! I look up to see Aries beautiful grey eyes staring into mine. God he is gorgeous. His tight dark navy shirt clinging to all his muscles with is tan jeans tight around his ass. He has his sleeves pulled up showing his tattoos on his right arm. Which go all the way up by his neck. His dark black her combed perfectly showing his chiseled chin and cheek bones. His tanned kissed skin glowing in the moonlight.

“How can I help you Alpha Ares?” I say with such venom that I know he can feel my hate for him right now.

“Cora, I was wonderful if we can talk? I know you must hate me and I don’t blame you. But I do want to explain myself.” Ares deep smooth voice making me weak in the knees. Dam you mate bond.

“There is no need Alpha Ares. I totally understand you already have your luna and chosen mate. You can go ahead and reject us and move on with your happy life.” I say trying to sound strong so he doesn’t see how really broken I am. I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.

“Cora, Please hear me out. I don’t want to reject you. Things are just complicated. I never thought I was going to find you and now that I have I don’t know I just need time to think.” Ares replies to me shifting his gaze to the moon.

Is this f*****g asshole serious! He is asking me to wait for him well he plays house with another she wolf. Well I am supposed to watch and be okay with it.

“Do you love her?” I ask him readying myself for whats to come.

“Cora it’s complicated like I said….” Before he could finish his sentence I repeat my question again.

“DO.. YOU.. LOVE.. HER.. ARES!” I say in a stern solid voice showing no weakness. Taking myself by surprised.

“I….I…. I do but not in the way I love you.” He whispers

“I see! Well I will never be someone’s second choice. I know my worth Ares. I wish you all the happiness with your chosen mate and Luna. With that I Cora Marie Jameson warrior of the Silver Moon Pack herby reject you Alpha Ares Clinton as my mate.” I felt the worst pain I have ever felt break through my heart like it was tearing my soul apart. Tears streaming down my face I fall to the ground trying to catch my breath. I look up to see Ares fall to his knees his head hung to the floor he slow lifts his head seeing tears fall from his eyes.

“I don’t except your rejection Cora. You are my mate. You are MINE!!!” I can see Ares eyes go black as his wolf takes over.

“Pleaseeee mate don’t leave me” I hear his wolf speak in a deep rusty voice.

I raise my hand to cup his cheek. My tears streaming down my cheeks freely. Looking at his dark black eyes. Choking back my tears.

“He made his choice. But know my wolf Star and myself will always love you. May I ask what is your name?” I softly say.

“Carter my little mate” He replies. “Can I say goodbye to my mate” He whimpers as tears come down his face.

“Of course you can.” I say letting Star come forward.

“Mate” Star replies.

“I am sorry mate. Please forgive me.” Carter growls out to Star.

“I do.” She replies. “You will always be my mate” Star whimpers out. She moves us closer pressing our lips to Ares and Carter’s. Sending a strong electric feeling through our body.

“I will wait for you mate. I will make this right.” Carter growls out.

Star gives me back control feeling my wolf’s sadness. She blocks me out. I give one last kiss to Carter letting him know I also love him.

“It’s time to give back control to Ares” I say to Carter.

“Okay little mate” He replies as his eyes turn back to the most beautiful grey color.

“Cora I…” Before he could finish Robert walks up. Looking between us his eyes widen in realization. I see Robert’s fist fly into Ares jaw.

“YOU f*****g BASTARD!!!” I see Robert losing control of his wolf. As he keeps punching Ares in the face.

“You don’t deserve her! You piece of s**t!” Robert yells. I get up hardly able to stand and I slowly walk towards Robert placing my hands on his chest.

“Robert it is okay. Calm down.” I grab his chin and gently turn his face to look at me.

“Take me home” I say as my body starts to shut down and sleep is taking over. I feel two strong arms wrap around me picking me up bridal style.

“I got you my sweets. I will always catch you.” Robert whispers as he holds me close to his chest kissing my temple. As I feel sleep taking over my mind.

“Please don’t leave me tonight” I whisper.

“I won’t my sweets. Sleep okay I will be here when you wake up.” He says so softly. I feel him place me in the car and then darkness takes me.
