Ray's POV. 'What is he doing here? He is supposed to be undercover and not showing up like a regular visitor. Someone might recognize him,' I thought to myself while looking out the glass window at Jacob. If looks could kill, he would have been dead the minute I spotted him approaching the salon. We closed from school about two hours ago and I came with the girl I met in school; I've known her before school but she doesn't have to know that. She seemed to be the perfect girl for the job, so I decided to be friends with her. An opportunity came for me to make sure she gets close to the douchebag and that would lead us closer to our target. We just need to make Alexander notice her, then we get a lead to our investigations. I tried the goth look on her but she looked ridiculous, with her thick glasses and braces. I was thankful she didn't seem to go with the look, so I asked for help from the rest of the team, the twins, Mary and Michael who went by their fake names Candace and Jackson. We are an undercover agency that tracks down drug barons and human traffickers. We arrived town a few months ago after receiving information about a secret illegal trade going on in St. Rudolph. Mary and her twin posed as hairdressers, though Michael is attending school to get some information from some students in St Rudolph's High, I posed as a gay, which is tiring, with the heels, makeup and all that. Jacob posed as my grandmother, so I wondered what he was doing here without his disguise. Jacob seems to be the brain if the team, but I'm seriously doubting him now. How could he be so naive to appear in public like this? I was walking towards the salon with Missy when I spotted Michael intercepting Jacob and dragged him to the side of the salon, where he blocked Jacob from our view. When we entered, Mary, her usual cheery self came to say hi and I made a beeline for the tabloids. I picked one from the pile on the table and settled down on the couch to read, going through pictures of models and hot gossips. I was pretending to be engrossed in the magi before me that I didn't notice what was going on around me. "Ray, can you tell your friend to stop staring? It's creeping me out," I raised my head to look up in her direction and surely, she was staring at Mary, open mouthed. I don't blame her though, Mary is a pleasure to look at, with her soft but firm features. I had always wondered why I wasn't drawn to her, maybe I'm really gay. I brushed that thought off because I have had a few girlfriends, though it was always nothing serious. "Dace, this is Missy and she's weird," I offered in a way of an introduction. I received a whack on my arm from Missy. I just hoped she was distracted enough not to look out the window. She introduced herself and went for a handshake while I pretended to go back to the magazine, but my thoughts were unsettled. Why did Jacob come downtown? Why did he ditch the disguise? Different thoughts were running through myind until... "Jealous much?" Missy had seen me looking out the window at the two men conversing. She thought I had a crush on one of them, so I decided to play along. She thought I had a crush on Jacob but I denied it quickly. If I was going to crush on a guy like me, it's definitely not Jacob. She also thought Jacob was the twin until Candace said otherwise. I pretended to continue reading, turning from page to page until Michael came in obviously through with whatever conversation he was having with Jacob, who was no longer in sight. I noticed that Missy was drawn to him immediately he came in and I felt somehow. Is it jealousy? No. Why would I be jealous? It's not like I like her. She's just here for the job. Right? I brought my focus back to the present. Mary was just asking if she would want to go shopping for shoes while she looked pointedly at her feet. Right. She's wearing Crocs. And they are black.
