Undying Conversation

Nicole's POV.

I placed my bag at the table and throw myself in bed. Finally, after a long day of work, I can now shut my eyes and go to sleep.

"hey!" a sudden voice came right after the door was open which made my upper body get up

"Jesus! Can you please learn how to knock!?" I said looking so pissed

"Fine, I'm sorry" she said in a calm voice

"What the hell do you want?" I said with a hint of irritation

"I would just like to remind you that you left your phone in the kitchen being charge. I mean, you know very well that mom said she'll come back later tonight and I just don't want you to get scolded. Again" she explained emphasizing the word again

"Well, if you don't want me to get scolded, why don't you just bring my goddamned phone here!"

"I figured you would say that so, here it is" she said and throw my phone at my direction

"You should have just handed it to me right from the start rather than saying some bunch of useless things" I said with a hint of annoyance

"Can't I at least get a thank you? I may be just your half-sister but we're still connected by blood. You came from your mother's womb and so am I. So, girl, respect please?"

"Speaking of respect, why don't you get your hella feet out of my room and stop talking back at me for you probably know that I'm still older than you" I firmly said

"You know what? I really hate you!" she said and walk out

"Feelings mutual" I murmured and suddenly a message popped up in my phone

"Hey, what are you doing?" an anonymous said in the text

"Who is this please?" I replied

"Oh, it's Awi. Dawn gave me your number and said to text you to know if you get home safely"

"Oh right! Tell her thanks for the concern and don't worry, I was able to got home with a complete body"

"Then, can I call you?" she replied. It's funny how I can sense her double thinking just by reading her message.

I smile left my lips as I read it. I immediately reply "Sure, why not?" and after a few minutes I answered the call

"Hey sweetiee why do you wanna call me?" I asked teasing her

"Oh, come on stop that! Nothing, I just kinda need someone to talk to" she said sounding upset

"Sure, I'm always here to listen. But how about Dawn? I mean the two of you are best friends, right?" I asked

"Yeah sure. We were best friends since we were children but Dawn always says that we've been best friends ever since we are in our mother's womb"

"Mother's womb? What the hell does that even mean?" I asked and let out a laugh which I think made her relax for a bit

"I know right. But actually, it's just because our mothers were also best friends so I kinda agree to her sometimes" she explained and chuckle

"Then can I ask why a cute girl like you sound so upset?"

"Well, it's just that I can't really sleep. I keep thinking about this man who ghosted me and Dawn is already asleep. You know, she's such a sleepyhead" she said

"Okay then, let's talk" I said and smiled. Our conversation went on and on and on. It's already dawn when both of us decided to sleep.

Dawn's POV.

"Who are you texting?" I asked Awi and before she could even answer, I already snatched her phone from her hands

"Hey, what are you doing? Give me back my phone" I said with a hint of annoyance

"I'll give you back your phone after knowing who the hell make you smile other than me.." I said and looked at her phone "And ohhhh it's Nicole" I said and look at her

"Happy? Can I get my phone now?" she said and I immediately did what she said.

"You two seems pretty close now. I mean, it's not a bad thing but it's just so new of you being so close with a friend whom you knew just yesterday. Don't get me wrong, youre obviously not the type of person who got attached to someone so easily, considering also the fact that she's a lesbian" I said

"Yep, but she got attached with someone who ghosted her" a voice behind us said

"Hey Bryan! How you doing man?" I said and do a fist bump with him

"I'm just fine. Can I join you in this table? The school's cafeteria is packed up and I'm really dying to eat my lunch"

"Sure man, why not" I said and motioned him to seat next to me

"So, how's the girl who has been ghosted doing now?" Bryan asked looking at Awi

"Stop it moron" Awi said giving him a death glare

"You know what? I sometimes doubt that you're having a bible study every Saturday, judging from the words that come out from your own mouth" Bryan uttered

"Then why don't you stop provoking me and make me turn into a bad girl every damn minute?" Awi said trying to compose herself

"Relax girl, I just saw you smiling while looking at your phone so I thought you meet someone and finally moved on to some jerk you knew online" Bryan explained

"Yeah, Spill the tea Awi, what's going on between you and Nicole" I asked teasing her

"Come on Dawn, it's not like you don't know the person. Were basically just friends okay. Nothing more, nothing less" she explained

"Yep. And that's what you also said when we saw you smiling because of some text from that jerk who ghosted you weeks ago" Bryan answered

"Again. She's just a FRIEND okay" Awi said emphasizing the word Friend

"Yeah, and she's a lesbian" I added

"And so? Not because she's a lesbian doesn't mean I can't befriend her" Awi answered

Her words were music in my ears. I can't believe my best friend is saying such things. Normally, she always stands in her principles to not befriend a lesbian because of her past experiences.

"Hey, hey, hey, our little girl is now a grown up. The woman I know who hates lesbian is now a friend of one" Bryan said teasing her

"Dude, you should thank me. Now that you're a friend with a lesbian you'll understand some of them and not loathe them" I uttered

"I can't believe that you made her enter into a club of lesbians" Bryan chuckles

Actually, when all of the clubs were closed, I saw a chance to get rid of Awi's trauma and so I grab it. I was hesitant at first because it might worsen her condition but thankfully everything went fine, thanks to Nicole. I should really treat that girl into a nice dinner.

"You know what? I don't how the two of you became my friends in the first place" she said

"Relax, we just wanna make you smile" Bryan answered

"Yeah, like Nicole did" I teased

"Ugh! What is wrong with you people? I'm straight, she's a lesbian, so what? Are sexuality that important when you start a friendship?"

Her words literally made our jaw drop. We look at her with proud eyes and help ourselves contain our smiles

"What?" Awi asked, confused

"Dawn Eaverly Raught, I'm so proud of you for making our baby girl see the other side of the world" Bryan said patting my shoulder

"We're just happy that you're not talking bad things about lesbians now Awi. With all sincerity, our happiness for the both of you is genuine. I'm so glad, I gave you her number. Who knows, she might help you with your trauma" I said looking so proud at her

"Ugh! Geez! Please both of you, just. stop it" Awi said
