A Journey

I sat at the edge of my bed as I undressed throwing my clothes over at the chair. After removing my shoes I stretched at the top of the bed and closed my eyes. It was not my intention to sleep, but to refresh my mind for the next steps I would be taking. I rose and went to fetch the travel bag that I last used during my tryst at the Banban hotel. The bag was never touched nor its contents removed from that time on, and when I opened it again the first time the thing that came to mind was the absence of the serrated dagger. Gardoza’s fellow investigators confiscated it as one of the several evidence gathered. I recalled I had a spare knife other than the one that was on top of the safe. It was a short knife, not a kitchen variety, that I had thrown somewhere but I could not remember where.
