CHAPTER THREE

Atticus Ethan has the biggest company in the states, he owns a school, wine company, and car companies on his name, he also had lots more on his name, and he was well-known and famous.

Immediately he stepped out of his black Aura car, he had his corporate wear on, the first three buttons of his shirt undone, leaving his chest sexy chest to be seen. One of his hands was in his pocket and his cold face couldn't overshadow how handsome he looked.

Everyone admired him but dared not make it obvious

Even his workers loved how sexy he looked all the time. Everyone knew behind this handsome man was a demon hidden, a devil untouched, they bowed as he went into his office all saying "Good morning boss", he ignored the greeting as usual and went straight into his office.

Everyone remained calm and waited for him to enter his office, on the other side was Lucy waiting for him to tell him his schedule for the day. Lucy was his secretary, the only one who had access to his company. She smiled as she bowed and waited for him to join her and they continued walking.

"I have good news, sir," Lucy said but there was no response from him so she continued, "We have thirty companies, they all reached out to us for the contract proposal, the power is in your hands now" she added.

Immediately they got into Ethan's office, he sat and stared at all the files on his table, "What are all these?" He asked with his face squished "Oh those are the letters from those companies I told you about" "I brought it for you to choose one" Lucy added with a smile

"Take all these out of my table immediately," Ethan said with his face frowning and his hands hitting the table. Lucy quickly removed all the files "I am sorry sir" she added. "Make sure you choose the best from all the companies" he added, "The pleasure is mine" Lucy responded with a smile.

"What are my schedules for today" Ethan asked with a cold face "You have an appointment with the governor" "That's all for today" she added. "You may leave now, I'd call you when I need your help". Immediately Lucy left the office.

Avery was lost in thought once more, "My lady" Binta called, distracting Avery from her thoughts "Come in" Avery replied. Binta came in with some maids, "My lady please choose the one you would love to be your assistant" Binta said with a smile on her face. "I don't need an assistant" Avery added. "My lady, Mr Ethan ordered I brought you an assistant." After lots of consideration, she chose Emily, dark-skinned with blue eyes and average height, immediately the rest of the maids were dismissed. "You can go, if I need your assistance I will phone you," Avery said

Avery stared at herself in the mirror, admiring how beautiful she looked, "My lady" Emily called, "The door is opened" added Avery. "You look beautiful my lady," Emily said, "Thanks Emily," she said with a smile. "What is the problem" Avery added, "Lunch is ready" "I'll be with you shortly" Avery replied.

After lunch, Avery decided to take a walk to the library, as she walked she heard a sound of a cat

"There is a cat?" She asked no one in particular. The "meow" sound came again and she turned towards the direction to look for it, she found herself in a beautiful garden where the kitten was, a white furry kitten.

"Oh look at you" Avery smiled as she moved closer to the kitten, she squatted in front of it and patted its fur. The kitten leaned closer for more pats

"Oh you must be a loner like me" she mumbled and gently carried the kitten in her arms still patting it.

"It's a female, wow, cute, do you have a name?" she asked as if the cat could talk.

"Let me give you a name, how about lolly?" Meow the cat sounded and Avery smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Lolly, my name is Avery, twenty-three years old, forcefully married to Ethan." "How come I have not seen you around?" She added.

"Now I have someone to talk to each time I am down" she mumbled with a bright smile.

She got to the library where she spent time reading different novels, she had a bottle of milk with her which she fed Lolly. She finally was able to finish the novel she had been reading for days. Suddenly she heard sounds and she went to check what happened with Lolly still in her arms. "Oh, she is back here," she said to Lolly with a worn face while patting Lolly. "What is she here for again? She should let me enjoy this marriage for at least 3 days before showing up," she said with a bitter and broken heart. "Well, she was here before me" she added. "But does her give her the right to frequent her like she owns this place?"

It was getting dark already so she retired to her room, on her way she bumped into Dorcas once more "You are still here b***h?" Dorcas asked, "If I can recall well, you are nothing but his mistress, so if anyone was leaving we both know it would be you" Avery replied "Do not act daft, you would soon leave, I put it to you," Dorcas said again "And I put it to you, Dorcas, your days in his life are numbered" Avery added and left the scene to avoid further arguments.

"What guts" Dorcas said looking at Avery leave, "Does she know who she is dealing with?" "I see, so you can talk back" she mumbled "I would see whose days are numbered in his life." She added

"I promise to make here a living hell for you, this house would be too hot for you, I give you my word," Dorcas said as she went in to see Ethan.

Immediately she got into Ethan's room, Ethan slapped her, she held her cheeks in shock

"How dare you?" Ethan asked.
