Girl Talk
I never thought that I was that bad looking for a woman. I am no sexy swimsuit model, but I am pretty good-looking for a short, middle-aged, heavy-set lady. I’m five feet, zero inches tall, weigh 175 pounds, and have light green eyes and long blond hair with red highlights.
I have a very outgoing personality, am humorous, love the outdoors, seldom drink, and am romantic at heart. So, I ask myself countless times. What is wrong with me?
Nothing, that’s just it. So why don’t guys like how I look on my profile on some dating websites? I have a lovely photo of myself sitting on a swing wearing a nice summer outfit and another picture of me standing next to a wooden fence wearing a casual dress. I am not showing any of my goodies in either of those photos. Maybe the guys are picky, or I am just overdoing it with how I think. I don’t know.
“Lizzi, Lizzi, girl, snap out of it. You’re thinking out loud again.” Lara says to Lizzi as she leans over from her desk.
“Sorry. I didn’t know I was thinking that loudly.” I said to Lara.
“Lizzi, girl, I can hear you over here in my cubicle,” Ashlynn shouted to Lizzi.
“Girl, you need a f**k buddy. someone that can bang all that worry out of you.” Lara said to me.
“Oh yeah, like I want some guy to bang the hell out of me daily,” I said while laughing.
Anthony listened to the conversation from his desk, leaned over, and smiled. “Hey! Lizzi, I would be happy to help you with that worrying problem.” Anthony said to me while smiling.
“Anthony, does the word wife mean anything to you? I am sure Monica wouldn’t be happy with you sowing seeds in another garden.” Ashlynn told Anthony.
“She wouldn’t be if she found out, and if she did, I would just tell her that I am cheering up a good friend,” Anthony said to Ashlynn while smiling at me.
I looked at Anthony with a sick look on my face. “Boy, go! You are not going to get me caught up with Monica.” I said harshly to Anthony.
“I am willing to help,” Anthony said to me.
“Anthony, go pound sand and play in traffic. In other words, get lost.” Lara told Anthony with a firm voice.
” Okay, okay, I’m leaving. Anthony said.
I watched Anthony get up from his desk and leave the office to go to lunch. I was looking at Lara and thinking about what she said. That doesn’t sound like a bad idea, having a f**k buddy or friend with benefits. At least it will be some kind of relationship.
It was time for lunch, and I didn’t want to spend an hour sitting in the lunchroom when it was nice and warm outside.
“I have an idea. Instead of eating in the lunchroom, let’s go to the park and have lunch there. I have a taste for a Chicago-style hot dog from one of the vendor carts.” I said to Lara and Ashlynn.
“That sounds like a good idea.” Said Lara.
“That sure does, and who knows, maybe we get the rest of the day off since it is a slow work day,” Ashlynn said, laughing.
“Only if we were so lucky to be told not to come back after lunch. Let’s get going.” I said to Lara and Ashlynn.
Lara, Ashlynn, and I gathered our things and left the office to have lunch in the park. Before we arrived at the elevator, Nia, our floor supervisor, walked over to us.
“Ladies, I heard your conversation, and seeing that it is Friday and most of our clients are traveling and taking care of other business arrangements. You are all free to have the rest of the day off. You’re right, Lizzi; it is a slow work day. Ladies, have a nice weekend. See you Monday morning.” Nia told us with a smile on her face.
We all smiled, said thank you, and left the office.
“Nice wishful thinking there, Lizzi. It was a wish come true. Since we have almost a three-day weekend, what should we do?” Ashlynn asked Lara and me.
“I don’t know. Maybe we can help someone get lucky for the weekend,” Lara laughed.
“Hey, now, I have my toy. Besides, I don’t want a one-night stand with a strange guy I will never see anymore.” I said to Lara as we were walking to the park.
“Who said it had to be a one-night stand? Get to know the guy; maybe it will not be a one-night stand.” Lara says to me.
“Okay! Let’s say I let both of you help me find someone. What club or hangout would we go to? I am not down with the girl’s club, so you two don’t get any ideas.”
We stopped in front of the vendor cart and told the guy what I wanted. “I’ll have three Chicago-style hot dogs, two colas, and a bottle of passion fruit water.”
I handed Lara and Ashlynn their hot dogs, sodas, and paid the vendor. “You two tried that before, and it didn’t end well. Don’t worry about paying him. It’s on me.” I told Lara and Ashlynn as we walked to a park bench to sit down and to eat.
“Well, there are a couple of places we can go to—Feathers On The River, Diamonds In The Sky, The Ark Deco, and Foxy. There is Park Lane if we want to go to West Park.” Said Lara.
“Foxy and Park Lane, we must dress in evening gowns or cocktail dresses, and I don’t have anything fancy in my closet. Feathers On The River is a classy, high-end place, but we don’t have to dress like we are going to a ballroom. The Ark Deco and Diamonds In The Sky have a door cover charge.” Ashlynn said to Lara and me.
“Well, we had better figure something out before it gets too late, or we are staying home on a Friday night. I am going to do some shopping. Give me a call later on so we can talk about what the plan for tonight is. Cya both later.” I told Lara and Ashlynn.
Getting the afternoon off from work was a wish come true, and we didn’t mind.
