What I was before
Another day is about to end and I guess my life is pretty much the same. My life is simple and boring, to say the least, and I like it that way. I wake up, go to school, go to one of my part- time jobs, and another part-time job, then go home to study and sleep. That is just about it. I guess, well, I kinda learn a few side things every now and then, like self- defense and judo. Well, I needed it because I kinda live on my own ever since I was born. You guessed it right, I'm an orphaned. Born somewhere out there on this earth, then raised all through her childhood in an orphanage. Luckily, I wasn't one of those children who had horrible experiences inside the orphanage. I grew up pretty well. The orphanage was OK, they fed me, took care of my basic needs and even sent me to public schools. At an early age, I learned how to survive. But it was not smooth sailing, of course. I still go to school, one of the TOP of my class. I do part-time jobs here and there, even study a few martial arts. Well, I kind of need it because, for one, I am a girl all by myself, two there are a ton of creeps lurking around in this time and age, and three, well it's kind of cool hahahaha... And this day is just about the same as most of the days I've experienced. By the time the bell rang signaling the time for us to finally go home and rest. Luckily for most of us, we get to at least go home and rest. You're even luckier if you get to hang out with friends and lovers. Don't get me wrong, I have friends.
"So Raven, Derek asked me to go to a food joint near town, wanna come with?" My so-called friend Dianna asked with those puppy forest green eyes.
Meet Dianna Peterson, red-haired, 5'2" tall , with a bubbly personality, and a hell of a fighter, and I mean it literally. We met at a Judo gym for teenagers who experienced being attacked by creeps. I was one of the young teachers there. When I met her, she was just shy and uncertain of what to do moving forward. Well, I kinda taught her the basic moves and we have been close friends ever since. She even changed schools just to be friends with me. Apparently, her previous school had a lot of bullies and to avoid them she took the liberty to change schools. Her parents, being both working adults, decided to let her do what she wanted for her to be able to cope with what had happened to her in the past. They don't like me enough though because of me being an orphaned and all, but I guess they trust me enough to let their daughter be friends with me.
"You know I gotta work, Dianna."I replied.
"Well, yeah, but can you just go with me this one time?" Dianna Whinned.
"Dianna, You know your parents aren't gonna like you hanging out with God knows who you, right?" I explained.
"OK, one we are going with Derek and some friends of his and two, that is why you are going with me, and three, you are going with me?" Dianna Whinning with her child like asking favors routine acting.
"Haha Gotta say your acting is improving, Ms. Peterson," I replied, grinning.
"Hey don't mock me Ms. all work and no play. Come on Raven! Come with us!" Dianna yelled pleadingly.
"Wait, which food joint did you say you're going to?" I asked.
"The Jenn'ys seafood grill, it's near the coastline."She answered.
"Well you'r in luck I work there, so, be a good girl and give me a ride, yes?" I said to her while putting my right arm over her shoulders.
"OMG you work there? Just how many work places do you have!" She was shocked whined.
I just shrugged. "OK, I'll just text Derek that we'll meet there instead." She said, grabbing her phone out of her bag. I swear that it is a pouch not a bag regardless of how small it is, but very surprisingly, it contains many and I mean many things. I mean what its that? A magic pouch like in the movies where it's so small but you can put a ton of things in there?
"and send... OK now let's Go!" She said excitedly.
We went inside her car and off we go...
Just around the coastline we can already see the seafood grill and we got there Derek and his friends are not yet to be seen so I Told Dianna to wait for them inside just to be safe and It's kinda chilly outside. I went in through the back entrance, logged in and put on my uniform, said a little prayer hoping to not get rude jerks of a costumers tonight. And now off to work.
