Love of the Lamb

(Sarah POV) The birthmark began to burn on her wrist. Sarah rolled over in bed and squeezed her wrist hoping the pain would go away. It had become more frequent lately. She gave up on wishing it away and sat up in her bed. Pale moonlight gave a pale light to her bedroom. Sarah pulled the covers over her body in a comforting shell. The pain soon ebbed away then reignited into an unbearable pain. Trying to fight the pain was useless as she passed out and slumped back into her bed. She felt herself fall into a dream of blood. Screams everywhere, her own body covered with blood, and her birthmark glowing. Sarah’s eyes shot open and she found her body covered with sweat. She went to grab her blanket but instead found a small white sheet. Confused, she looked around to see a small white-walled room. How did I get here? Where am I?  The door in the corner opened and Sarah felt her legs carry her to investigate. There was a fully stocked bathroom behind the door. She gravitated toward the shower and peeled off her sticky clothes. The warm water poured over her body and she let it wash away that bloody dream. After finding some soap she allowed herself to become fully clean. Finally, she turned off the shower and found a stack of fluffy white towels and a blue robe. Stepping out of the bathroom she saw there was a set of clothes on her bed with a little notecard by it. She stepped up to read it “Miss Hoyt we welcome you. Please wear these for supper tonight. Someone will come to get you shortly.”   (Kyle POV) Out of the five lambs he had the hardest to find. Finally, he had found her, but only because he could feel the mark’s power. He was standing under the balcony of her ramshackle apartment. He used his strength to launch himself up to her porch door. Quietly he forced it open. He saw her tucked in her blanket, obviously in pain. A wavelength hit him and he saw her wrist glow and she slumped over. He stepped over to her body. Never had he felt a wavelength so strong. He scooped up the girl’s body and left the small room. The girl began to get restless in her sleep. Her hand reached up and grasped his arm. A searing pain crept through him and a vision appeared in his head. A vision of blood and of the mark. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and ran toward the mansion. When he arrived he stepped into the reserved room and lay her on the bed. He got a good look at her and felt a foreign yearning arise deep in him. He grabbed the thin white sheet and covered her with it before walking out. “Tell Vizer I’m coming to see him. I have things to discuss about my charge.”  He told the guard outside the room. He paced down the hallway and into a burgundy room where a black-haired man was waiting for him. “Vizer, the power in her is running rampant. It might tear her apart before the ceremony” Vizer glanced back at him. “The stronger the power the better descendant she could become and if she becomes a Fallen we could just kill her. There is nothing to worry about. Now make preparations for supper with the lambs and the other coveters.” Seeing there was nothing further to talk about Kyle got up and left toward the kitchen to start preparations. He never knew the taste of food, only blood. He almost forgot that humans had to eat.  He had a few words with the cooks then excused himself to go pick up his Lamb.
