The older man was trying to act tough but you could see that some cracks were starting to show in his bravado. He took a moment to collect himself and then quickly regained his confidence.
With a firm tone he said “No! We will not lower ourselves and beg her for anything. We are united in this. Our group needs someone strong to lead us not a coward who hides behind someone who is weak like a girl.”
The words hurt me deeply sparking a strong feeling inside of me that I couldn't ignore. It created a powerful drive to find a solution or answer to what I was feeling.
I could feel my patience running out almost like an old rope that is starting to come apart at the ends. I said in a low growling voice “The things you say are as careless and reckless as the things you do.”
