Talon The leftover feelings from my nightmare stuck to me like the cold air on a winter night. I sat up in my bed my heart pounding rapidly in my chest. The whispers of those dark shadows were slowly disappearing as the light of the real world started to come in. Moonlight filled the room with a soft silvery glow allowing me to see Alicia who was sleeping next to me. She looked so peaceful and happy completely unaware of the storm of emotions that was churning inside of me. As I sat on the edge of my bed I swung my legs over the side and let my feet touch the cold wooden floor beneath me. The chill of the floor connected me to the present moment reminding me that I was awake and aware. I took a moment to look over at Alicia who was still asleep. I felt a deep desire not to disturb her
