Chapter 7: She Is My Mate

{Drake PVO}

I awoke in Scarlet's room.

This chair was very comfortable and way better than being in my own room right next door to my brother and his new mate.

It did gross me out at times, but I was also a bit jealous as I have always known Scarlet to be my mate.

She made a noise to know that she was awake like she does every morning and took a sip of her tea.

I greeted her and told her I would see her at breakfast.

I left her room, closed the door behind me and headed off downstairs.

I was sleeping on her floor but, I saw she asked the Omega Sam to bring in a chair, pillow and blanket for me that was placed next to her bed.

It made her scent stronger, which made it easier for me to sleep.

At breakfast I could see Liam and Lana were putting her off her food, the two L's as she likes to call them, and before she could ask,

I said I would take her to school.

She said goodbye but I had the feeling they didn't even know we were even in the kitchen.

I put her school bag over my shoulder and led her to my Poche.

We drove to school.

I knew she was safe at school.

All the teachers and principal promised they would keep her safe and that a security detail was not needed.

I decided to trust them to keep my mate safe.

The closer it got to her eighteenth birthday, the stronger her scent got for me.

It was getting harder to stay away from her.

I wanted to spend every wanking moment with her.

"Goodbye Drake, I will see you after school."

She said, taking me out of my thoughts.

She did something I did not expect, but she kissed me on my cheek.

I am beginning to wonder if she knows I am her mate.

"Goodbye Scar, have a good day at school."

I watched her walk into school and left.

I watched her grow up in front of me.

I was everything to her.

Her brother, her friend and soon her mate.

The mate part she would find out in a month, but I wasn't sure what would happen if she accepted me as her mate.

There was so much going through my mind as Lycan's only accepted one mate in his or her lifetime.

I got back to the Pack house at the Red Moon Pack and walked in the door.

"Hello your Majesty."

I looked to see her dad, Michael, standing in the doorway of his office.

"I told you Alpha Mike, Drake is just fine. We will be family soon."

"Well, in that case, just Mike will do."

I walked towards him, started to laugh and shook his hand.

"Fancy a game of chess, Drake?"

I looked at him.

"And maybe some drinks?"

I started to laugh.

"Sure sounds fun and helps kill the time before I need to fetch Scarlet from school."

Just then, as we walked into his office, I had received a call on my phone.

It had been the school nurse.

I gave specific instructions to the school, if anything happened to Scarlet, that the school to contact me.

"Good Morning your Majesty, it is Miss Walker. There has been an incident with regards to Scarlet and I ask you to come down to school."

"I see, I will be on my way now."

Trying to maintain my composure, I hung up the phone.

"Excuss me Mike I will take that game of chess with you another time I need to go to school."

"Is everything alright with Scar?"

"I don't know but I am going to find out."

I answered as I turned towards the door.

"Please, let me know if it is serious, Drake. She is my daughter. Whatever it is, I will trust your judgement."

I looked at Mike.

"Of course I understand. If you will excuse me."

I didn't even bother with the car. I told James to meet us up at school, to take my car and that I would run there.

I am a Lycan and would be much faster than any car.

I went to the nurses' station angry, then I saw my mate.

Her top had been torn and the nurse had put a blanket around her.

I ran and kneeled in front of her.

"Who did this to you little one, Scar? Tell me, I have to tell your father, as it is he's pack only he can deal with the concerquences?"

She just continued to cry and I wiped the tears away from her checks.

Just then, I smelt my mate's scent on this young boy when he walked into the nurses' station.

I heard the nurse.

"Goodness child, who did this to you?"

"She did, Miss Walker. She just randomly attacked me with no reason, no reason at all."

I looked at the young boy how badly my mate had beat him up and served him right.

I let out a growl and grabbed the boy by the shirt.

I tried to remain calm but my Lycan Maddix wanted to rip his head off of his body.

"If I ever get you near my mate again."

I whispered in his ear.

Shock appaired on the boy's face and in a whisper back.

"She is your mate? She isn't even eighteen yet and you are claiming her to be your mate?!"

"There is a lot about Lycans you do not know, boy. Get out of here before I put you in the hospital."

I let go of the boy's shirt and watched the boy run out of the nurse's office still with a bit of a limb.

When we got out of school, James was already waiting for us with my car, of course.

He said he would run back to the Pack House and needed to let his wolf out a bit.

I opened the door for Scar and went over to the driver's side.

On the way back to the pack house I had a bit of a smirk on my face that my mate had not even got her wolf yet and she bet up a boy that had his wolf with hardly a scratch on her.

I trained her well, but yet again, she has always been a good student.

I parked the car and we entered the foyer.

The boy's parents were already there waiting for me.

"Go upstairs, Scar."

I watched her as she ran up the stairs straight into her room.

I saw Mike come out of his office.

"Don't worry Alpha, I have this one."

He nodded his head when coming out of the office, leaving it for me to handle the situation at hand.

This Derick's parents greet us.

"Good Morning Alpha and your Majesty."

They bowed towards me.

"Mr and Mrs Jacobs, please come into the office."

I heard Mike say as I followed in after him.

"Take a seat."

Again, Mike led the way.

As I say, it is his pack and for matters like these I have no say but, at least he will let me handle this one.

I turned to the Omega in the office.

"Maria, please bring some tea for our guests here."

She nodded at me.

"Yes, your Majesty."

I watched her leave the office, closing the door behind her.

"I am going to leave Prince Drake to handle this as he knows already what the problem is and you don't need to explain it to me."

Mike looked at me as I could see he was struggling to have control over his wolf.

"Thank you Alpha."

I looked at him.

"Thank you your Majesty if you would excuse me."

I watched him leave and close the door behind him.

Maria returned with the tea and placed it on the desk in front of them.

"Thank you Maria."

"Your Majesty."

She bowed and left the room.

"Your Majesty, we apologize for the way Derick behaved. We understand the whole pack understands that Scarlet is meant only for her mate. He is a young boy. He made a mistake. Please don't hold it against him."

I looked at Mrs Jacobs as she was defending her son.

"Mrs Jacobs, I understand he is young. Both myself and my brother knew he had a crush on Scarlet. We thought it was a faze. We knew he found his mate, Clair Bennet, and thought he would be over it, but I see he is just waiting to see when she turns eighteen to see if Clair is really his mate."

"The mate bond, as we all know, is not something to play around with. He needs to accept that Clair Bennet is his mate and make a bond with her."

Mr Jacobs answers me.

I sat down and took a sip of my tea and faced both Mr and Mrs Jacobs.

"There will be no real consequences for his actions except I have already spoken to the school. He will have a week-long detention."

A breath of relief fell upon both parents.

"Thank you your Majesty."

"He is to mark his mate that the bond maybe stronger."

They nod and agree.

"I hope you speak to him with regards to this and how serious the bond is. If he rejects his mate, they could both die."

"Yes, your majesty, I will speak to him myself."

Mr Jacobs looks like a man that does not take any nonsense.

He looked stern and could see he physically worked hard to provide for his family.

"If he ever comes near Scarlet again, it will be his last."

My words echoed in their minds, eyes wide with fear.

"Yes, your Majesty."

This time they both spoke at the same time.

"Well, if there is nothing else you would like to bring to my attention?"

"No, nothing, your Majesty."

Mrs Jacobs was already out of her seat.

Mr Jacobs stood up as well and they bowed.

"Thank you your highness."

They both bowed and left the office.

I went up to Scarlet's room to find that she was sleeping.

This must be taking a lot out of her.

Her biological father found out where she was.

A boy who had a crush on her attacked her at school.

I wondered if she already knew that she was a mate to a Lycan Prince that would be King as soon as she married me.

That she would not only be a princess but a Queen.

I took the damaged clothes and closed the door.

I went back downstairs and found Liam alone.

"That is odd, Brother, you are normally at school watching your mate?"

Liam looked at me.

"I saw what happened. I didn't intervene as she could take care of herself. The moon goddess really outdone herself, choosing her to be your mate. The kingdom will be invincible with her by your side."

I looked at my brother.

"Indeed, she has. From an evil plan to destroy her pack, a beautiful and powerful Lycan."

We both chuckle.

"Well, brother, she had you to train her so I knew I wouldn't have to intervene."

Liam is now smacking me on my back.

"You give me too much credit, brother."

He laughed.

"What? It's true, you are the best warrior and your wolf, Maddix man, alive. he is huge."

At that sentiment I started laughing too.

"Lets go play a game of chess thanks to Mike, I have been wanting to play all morning but first, wanted to go burn this shit."

Scarlet did not come down for supper and I had already spoken to her parents informing them of the events of the day, leaving out a few details.

"Drake, it was a real blessing having you around when Grandpa Joe and Grandma Bella gave Scarlet to us. We did not know what we were doing. Being baron, she has been a real blessing in our lives from the moon goddess. I just wish my sister was here to see how beautiful she has become. She looks like my sister Scarlet."

Mike looked at me as he took a sip of his wiskey.

"We have decided on Beta's son to take over as Alpha when it is time for me to step down, so you do not need to worry about us."

He added.

I looked at this man who was made into a father at such a young age but, with the help of his mate, raised a beautiful and intelligent daughter.

Just then Rachel walked in and didn't notice I was sitting in Mike's office.

I like it because I always have the element of surprise.

"My love, I went to the doctor for a follow-up after the artificial insemination. It worked. I am pregnant!"

Mike spat out his whiskey, put the glass down and picked her up.

"That is wonderful news, my love."

" Congratulations you two. Seeing that you have forgotten I am in the room, I will take my leave."

"Thank you Drake."

"For what, Mike?"

"For the referral to the right doctor and we will have our bloodline in charge of the pack."

I just smiled and walked out the room.

I made my way upstairs to Scarlet's room, I noticed her door was open and that there was no guard in front of her door.

I couldn't even smell her scent, but when I walked into her room I saw the guard knocked out cold and that smell.

Liam!

He came out running towards Scarlet's room.

He walks in and turns towards me.

"Looks like we are going on a hunting trip."

Trust my brother to find the fun in this.

Here I am worried about my mate even though I know she can take care of herself.

"Seriously Brother, only you would find the fun in this."

I decided to laugh, no point in stressing too much about it.

I really feel sorry for whoever took her though.

" Of course, brother, because now I have to kill Eric."
