Chapter 1 : The Immortal Curse
Long ago, before the kingdoms of the present age had risen to power, there lived a sorcerer whose name was feared across the world.
His name was Keres.
Blessed with immortality, Keres possessed power beyond the imagination of ordinary men. With vast armies at his command and magic that could shatter cities, he conquered kingdom after kingdom, leaving ruin wherever he marched. Great kings who once believed themselves untouchable knelt before him in defeat, while entire nations vanished beneath the shadow of his ambition. For centuries, his name became synonymous with fear, and many believed that no force in the world could ever challenge him.
Yet immortality was not the gift Keres had once believed it to be.
As the years passed, the world changed around him. Friends grew old and died. Loyal followers turned to dust. Kingdoms rose, flourished, and collapsed into history while he remained unchanged. Generations came and went like passing seasons, and the faces he once knew were forgotten by time. Though he possessed everything a man could desire—power, wealth, and eternal life—he found himself trapped within an existence that had no end.
Slowly, the immortality he had once treasured became a curse.
What began as loneliness soon became obsession. Keres searched desperately for a way to free himself from his endless life. He traveled across distant lands seeking answers hidden within forgotten temples, ancient libraries, and sacred sanctuaries. Whenever he heard rumors of a sage, mystic, or saint who possessed knowledge beyond mortal understanding, he pursued them without hesitation.
Many refused to help him.
Many paid for that refusal with their lives.
As the centuries passed, Keres's search grew darker. He hunted those who possessed ancient wisdom, tortured mystics for f*******n secrets, and slew holy saints in the hope that one of them held the answer he sought. Fear spread across the world once more, and people began to realize that the immortal sorcerer had become far more dangerous than he had ever been as a conqueror.
His actions united enemies who would otherwise never have stood together.
The surviving saints gathered from every corner of the world. Some were healers, some warriors, and some scholars whose knowledge stretched back generations. Alone, none of them possessed the strength to defeat Keres. Together, however, they believed they could stop him.
Among them stood an ancient saint renowned for wisdom and foresight. It was he who devised the plan that would change the course of history.
Knowing that Keres would never abandon his search, the saints created a trap. They spread rumors of a holy man who possessed the secret to breaking immortality, knowing the sorcerer would come seeking answers. Just as they had predicted, Keres followed the trail without suspicion.
For the first time in centuries, the immortal conqueror allowed desperation to cloud his judgment.
When he finally arrived at the place prepared for him, the trap was sprung.
The saints opened a magical door forged from sacred power unlike anything the world had ever seen. Before Keres could escape, the door became a prison. Ancient seals bound the sorcerer within a realm beyond time itself, a place where neither life nor death held dominion.
Keres fought against the prison with all the power he possessed.
He failed.
The door closed.
The seals were completed.
And the most feared sorcerer in history vanished from the world.
The prison was neither life nor death. Trapped beyond the sacred door, Keres could not age, could not die, and could not escape. Time lost all meaning within that endless darkness. Years became decades. Decades became centuries. With nothing but his thoughts for company, the hatred within him grew stronger than ever before.
The world outside eventually moved on. New kingdoms rose. New rulers claimed their thrones. Stories became legends, and legends slowly faded into myth.
But behind the sealed door, Keres remained.
Waiting.
Watching.
Remembering.
And with every passing century, his desire for freedom grew stronger.
