Marry Me Not

THIRTEEN

It is been a wave of peace and wonderful two months for me and Athena. We bond so fast after the night at the farm. She is keeping her words and did try her best for us. Even sometimes she brought out my insecurity for this relationship. It is like she is hiding something from me. 

Today I have been working nonstop and it is almost midnight when I leave the office. Skipped lunch and dinner make my stomach growling like a hungry beast. There is only one perfect spot me where I can feed my beast at this hour. Joker Dine-In 24/7. 

The owner, Josh, is an old friend of mine. As usual, I order my meal and sit at the bar and decided to check on Athena.

I have not heard from her today after I texted her this morning telling her my schedules. But before I can text her, I heard her voice from behind me. She is laughing with a man who I notice is her, not a so-called boyfriend. She didn't see me sitting at the bar. They sit at the corner and having their sweet moments together. All the lip-locks and peals of laughter. I am the one who is betrothed to her, not him. 

"Hey, Josh, who is that for?" I ask Josh when he is walking out from the kitchen.

"Table 8. The couple at the corner" He said.

"Perfect. Give it to me. Let me take it to them" Josh didn't say anything but handing me out their order.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. Here is your order, Miss. One faithfull fiance, one betrayed fiance, one bullshit relationship and one so over marriage " I put their order at the table and when I looked at their face, they look like just seeing a ghost but I care nothing and just walk away.

Sometimes good things is just too good to be true.. for me!

I payed for my meal, walk out and drove home with the speed of the light. (no I am just kidding)

I don't know what I feel. Just feeling like... calm.. but tired.

First thing in the morning, I called off the weeding with no explanation. Athena's been calling me since last night. Leave a lot of messages telling me how much sorry she was. I read all those messages hoping I would angry for what I saw last night. But nothing. No anger at all.

I start my day like how it should. Have breakfast with my family and then go to work.

They have been curious why I called off the wedding but none of them dare to speak anything to me.

"The reason why called it off because Athena has someone else. A perfect man for her. I am not sad, not angry, even though I like her but the feeling are not enough for me to keep her and continue this engagement. I rather let her go" I answered their silence questions.

"Did you saw them together?" Anne asked me

"Yes. Last night and a night way before we can civilied to each other" I looked at my mom and gave her my best smile telling her I am okay.

"I better get going. Have a meeting with a new client. Don't wait for me. Love you guys!"

All of my clients will address me with "Sir" but this one.. this new client is quite different.

"I still remember when Harold said, Jordan Weldern is a perfect guy for this job. But from what I see he is a she or maybe my ear is having a hearing problem?" she got it right. Just play cool Jordan!

"Pleasure to meet you Ms.Orlov" 

"Arta. Just call me Arta. Orlov is my father's name and I am right about your gender" bulls-eye

"Just a little people can tell the difference. I was born with two genders."

"Nothing to shame. I was like you, before I choose the female side since the test showed my female reproductive is way more "stronger" than the male one"

"I see.. but I am not shamed,  just didn't share it with publics. Now  what can we help you?"

"Have a drink with me tonight. We can talk about what I need from YOU"

"Don't i have my right to reject to your offer,  Miss Arta?"

"I am afraid you don't 'cause i don't take no for an answer. See you tonight, Mr Weldern"

With that, she just leave.
