CHAPTER TWO A PERFECT EVENING

"A few days passed, I woke up feeling like a new person. The weight of my past relationships was gone, and I felt a sense of hope that I hadn't felt in a long time. I couldn't stop thinking about Nelson and the way he made me feel. I went about my day with a spring in my step, feeling grateful for the chance encounter with Nelson. I couldn't wait to see him again, to continue our conversation and get to know him better. As I went about my day, I realized that I had been living in a state of emotional numbness for far too long. I had been so focused on my career and my own personal struggles that I had forgotten what it was like to feel truly alive. "Some hours later, my phone rang, and my heart skipped a beat as I saw Nelson's number flashing on the screen. I answered, trying to sound calm, and he greeted me with his warm, deep voice.

We chatted for a few minutes, catching up on each other's days. Then, he asked me the question I had been hoping to hear.

'Sophia, would you like to join me for dinner again tonight? Just the two of us?'

My heart skipped a beat. I couldn't believe he was asking me out again, just the two of us this time.

'I'd love to,' I replied, trying to sound casual despite my excitement.

We made plans for him to pick me up at 7 pm, and I spent the rest of the day in a daze, thinking about our upcoming dinner date. I smiled, feeling my heart flutter. 'I know exactly what you mean,' I replied. 'I feel like I've found a kindred spirit in you.'

We sat there for a moment, hands entwined, looking into each other's eyes. I took a sip of my wine, feeling the warmth spread through my body. I knew that I was in trouble, but I didn't care. I was ready to take a chance on love, and I knew that Nelson was the man I wanted to take that chance with." He offered to drop me off at my place.

"As we stood outside my door, Nelson looked at me with a smile. 'I had a wonderful time tonight, Sophia,' he said. 'Would you like me to call you tomorrow?'

I nodded, feeling a flutter in my chest. 'I'd like that,' I replied.

He leaned in and kissed me again, his lips soft and gentle. 'I'll call you tomorrow, then,' he said. 'And maybe we can plan another dinner date soon?'

I smiled, feeling happy and content. 'I'd like that,' I said.

Nelson smiled back, his eyes shining with warmth. 'Goodnight, Sophia,' he said. 'Sweet dreams.'

I watched as he walked back to his car, feeling grateful for the chance encounter that had brought us together. As I went inside and got ready for bed, I couldn't help but feel excited for the future.I knew that I had found someone special in Nelson, someone who made me feel seen, heard, and loved.
