Chapter 59 Nick crouched against a large tree trunk surrounded by rocks. Ciaran and Tadgh did the same. Ciaran knew that Nick could see the dimensional gates and traps and could tell the difference between real and illusional objects in Xiilok. Ciaran and Tadgh shadowed his exact footsteps and actions. Nick directed their attention to two pointy stones that formed a small, arched doorway. “Those who live in Xiilok but are not one of us live in places marked by these stone doors.” “What do you mean ‘one of you’?” Tadgh asked. “If you drink the water in the well, you become one of the Xiiloks. We can see everything here as it really is. You outlanders can’t see much, so you tend to die by falling into traps and oblivion holes. That’s how being a Xiilok protects us. It’s a dangerous place
