Chapter 60
“This way!” Nick called and waved and pointed to the right. Tadgh held Jo’s hand and went to the right. Ciaran jammed the door and followed.
“Duck,” Nick yelled, but not before Tadgh hit his head again.
“Damn it!” Tadgh cursed.
Ciaran charged forward. “Follow me,” he said. They ran after Nick as fast as they could. The fighters had broken out of the back door and pursued them.
Nick stopped and pointed. “If we cross this creek, they won’t follow us. On the other side, there’s a group of non-Xiiloks. I don’t know them, but I’m told they’re nasty pieces of s**t. If we kill them, this way becomes a shortcut to Daimon Gate.”
