CHAPTER FIVE

STEFAN’s POV.

Three hours ago.

I walk out of the shower and I see Gemini holding my phone against her ear. She doesn’t normally take my calls unless it is important and seeing the look on her face, I can tell it’s important.

“Who is that?” I ask as I bend forward and press a kiss on her forehead.

“My sister,” she answers and rolls her eyes to the back of her head which makes me laugh.

Gemini and I have been together for three years now and it is safe to say it has been the best three years of my life. She doesn’t nag like Athena, she doesn’t bother me with stuff.. Sometimes, I wonder why the moon goddess made Athena my mate and not her. I love her and that’s the biggest truth of my life.

She is even carrying my child, something I had longed for six years. She took in before Athena even did.

“She will be fine,” I say as I pull her closer,”but you need to let me have a taste of you, my love”

I take the phone away from her and fling it across the bed before bringing my lips down to hers.

My hands were roaming over her entire body when she let out a loud yell and I immediately pull away from her, my forehead dipping.

“What happened?”

“My stomach hurts,” she cries out.

I don’t even think twice. I quickly throw on a shirt and in no time, we are on our way to the hospital.

What I did not expect is seeing Athena in the hospital and I later found out she almost lost the baby.

Part of me feels sorry for hearing that but that’s it. She means nothing to me and because I don’t, I cannot share her pain even if I tried.

I have been thinking of a way to tell her about the divorce proceedings and when I see how she behaves with Gemini, I don’t hesitate. She can hate me but doing anything to the woman I love is totally out of the equation.

“What’s wrong?” Gemini’s voice pulls me out of my reverie on our way back to the house. She is tired and I decide to take her home so she can rest. The entire squabble with Athena sure took a toil on her.

Before I can reply, my phone buzzes and my father’s name pops up.

I click on the receive button and his voice filters through.

“I hear your wife is in the hospital. Have you gone to see her?”

“Yes,” I reply, “I was there but I had to leave to bring Gemini home. She is also not feeling well,”

My parents know about Gemini and my affair. They wanted her for me as a wife but she was not of age when Athena manifested as my mate. The day I told them I was in a relationship with her, my mother was the happiest one. She hated Athena and loved her junior sister. I couldn’t blame her, I mean Gemini was gorgeous.

. I will have someone go check her in the hospital. Take Gemini home to rest, nothing should happen to my grandchild,”

“Yes, father”

After that, I end the call and let out a sign. Even if I am now the alpha of the pack, it still feels like my father runs it including hallow holdings and this is one of the many things I feel under the man I call father.

“Athena really bit herself in the foot this time,” Gemini says, “everyone has rejected her,”

“Only you are fit to stand beside me as my Luna and the lady of the hallow name, my love,”

I take her hand in mind and kiss it lightly. I love her and nothing is going to change that.

My mind wanders off to Athena again. In the six years of our marriage, I have never seen her break down the way she did today, the anger in her eyes. She was practically begging me to take back my words but how can I choose someone like her? Someone who does not even have any standing at all even in her family. Not many people know she is even my wife, only the pack members know we are related. It has always been Gemini, Athena was just too blind to see it.

She will be fine. That is sure. Athena knows how to be silent even in pain and this is no different. If she wants to remain a member of the moon pack, she will accept the divorce quietly and move on. I will settle her with a lot of alimony, she won’t even need to work for the rest of her life.

At least, that is my way of paying her back.

“We should head to the court to grab the divorce papers before going home,” Gemini suggests, “so Athena can sign them the moment she gets back,”

“Hmmm,” I nod as I swerve to another lane. The earlier, the better.
