Power

That night I fell asleep on top of Mace. I woke with his arms wrapped around me. I felt safe and like nothing bad was going to happen. In that moment I had forgotten about my brother and his pack. However I had to get up, I had to meet my brother.

Springing out of bed minding Mace who was still fast asleep, I headed to the bathroom for a shower. When the cold water hit my skin it all came flooding back, the betrayal, the hurt, the lies. I sank to the floor pulling my knees to my chest. Hot tears began to fall rolling down my cheeks. A sob flew out my mouth. With that the bathroom door flew open and Mace strode in holding a towel.

‘Come on Val. Get up , get dresses, go for your walk with Benji. Then go and let out your frustration by beating the crap out of Theo infant of a crowd.’

I stood up, my legs wobbling and climbed out the shower. Mace carefully wrapped the cozy towel around my dripping wet body.

‘Come on beautiful lets get you dressed.’ He cooed sitting me on the bed.

A though crossed my mind. I didn't care that he had seen me naked, I trust Mace. I know I haven't known him long but I trust him. No one has ever seem me naked. Now he was rummaging through my underwear draw pulling out my good sports bra and a pair of pants, throwing them at me. Next he throws a pair of trainer socks, then a vest top, then a pair of shorts.

‘Get dressed Val. You will be late.’

‘Im not wearing shorts, its too cold.’ I moaned.

‘Wear the shorts, You will get hot.’

‘Im not wearing the shorts.’

‘If that is what you wish’ he mumbled as he threw a pair of joggers at me.

I got dressed whilst Mace wondered around my room, looking through my wardrobe and desk.

I was ready and heading down stairs to meet Benji at the front door Mace accompanied me the whole way there. He waited with me even offered me accompany me, on the walk with my brother, which I declined. I needed to sort things out with Benji on my own.

‘Don't worry Mace I wont be going far. I don't trust him. I know he is my brother but I will not hesitate to defend myself if he try anything.’ Trying to reassure both myself and Mace.

‘I will be near. All you have to do is say my name.’

Benji rounded the corner and eyed up Mace.

‘I will meet you after your walk, before you combat class. See you later.’ Mace called walking towards the kitchen. Probably to make himself breakfast.

‘Bye Mace, Catch you later!’

‘Shall we walk?’ Benji chimed.

We started walking we headed towards the lawn outside the house.

‘I don’t want to go into the woods.’ I mumbled looking down and the frosted grass as it crunched beneath my trainers.

‘You love the woods Val. Don't worry I'm with you. I will protect you.’ Benji tried to convince her.

‘What was that last night, Who was that man? Was he your alpha? Why does he want me?’ I blurted out without a second thought.

Silence filled our walk for the next 5 minutes. The awkwardness was starting to get unbearable when Benji finally spoke.

‘You aren't human Val. You are an angel, as am I. I was changed into a wolf because Viktor my alpha wants us on his team. I will be his second when his beta gets back on his trip I will challenge and beat him. He wants me to be an Alpha of my own pack. To create an empire that would be unstoppable. You see I am not like a normal wolf. I am stronger and quicker. Im stronger than the alpha, No one is stronger than me. I also have powers. I only found this out when a few days ago, when i was training with the pack. I could hear what they we're thinking, know the move they were going to make before they made it. I am telepathic. I can read minds, but only when I am in my wolf form. With more training I'm sure I can do more. No one knows about my powers Val. I think it is best if you get powers you don’t tell anyone. This is all I know at the moment about us being angels. I am trying to find out more but it is becoming a long process.’

He paused catching his breath.

‘We are angels? How is that possible?’

‘How is anything possible? How am I able to turn into a wolf? How is your friend Mace able to turn into a fox? I don’t know. Have you found that you have been able to do anything strange recently?’

‘No not that I know of.’ I admitted to him.

‘You will get abilities. Val, just you wait.’

‘Why is Viktor so insistent to make me his Luna?’

‘He wants a Luna to make the pack stronger. You are an angel Val, not that he knows that. You would be a different breed of wolf. Just like me. Superior to everyone even him. I don’t think he realises how dominant you are. You would be the alpha not him. He wouldn't stand a chance compared to you.’

‘I need some time to get my head around this. I need to be on my own.’ I said walking along the tree line.

‘Ok, I wont be far. Shout me if you need me.’ Benji said as he disappeared into the trees, giving me space.

I carried on walking along the tree line. Digesting the information that my brother just threw into my face. When a huge sleek black wolf came out from behind a tree in front of me. He had golden eyes that were looking at me like I was his next meal.

‘Benji’ I shouted, Hoping that he hadn't wondered too far.

A few seconds later, Benji came running out of the trees. He stood in front of me, shielding me from the wolf.

‘Vik, no not yet. She isn't ready.’

I cant out from behind my brother and stood in front of him and walked over to the wolf. I stood a few meters away from him. I turned to look at Benji, looked at me in horror. This was Vik the alpha who wants me as his. Not going to happen!

‘Val, what are you doing?’

‘I am taking control.’

At my answer the wolf growled. As if to laugh at me. I turned my head to the wolf. My eyes pouring into his. It felt like I was opening myself to him. Willing him to do as I wanted.

‘Change’ I commanded.

Without any hesitation the wolf began to change into a man. Cracking bones and contorted skin. He turned into a handsome man, with short black hair.

‘How did you do that?’ Vik questioned me the look of shock on his face.

‘Kneel’ I ordered.

With that the Alpha kneeled before me. I turned to look at my brother. Shock written across both their faces.

‘Change’ I ordered

And with that my brother changed. Bones cracked and skin contorted. I had figured out what my power was. Control. Just to double check I turned back to the alpha .

‘Change’ I ordered.

He did as I commanded.

‘Viktor, Go’ I decree. With that the Black wolf was gone, running off into the trees.

‘Change’ I ordered my brother. He changed back into his human form.

‘You know what your power is. Don’t you Val? Its control.’

I figured that already.

‘Yes, yes it is. I wonder if it can be used on any other species. I will need to test this. Right I have to go. I have to teach a class.’

‘Remember Val, you need to keep this a secret. Who knows what they will do if they find out!’ Benji warned as I strode off towards the house.
