The detectives leaned over the body of the male victim. He was dead but of no apparent cause. Alan asks no one in particular. "Who or what could have done this?"
Barry asks the coroner, "Witnesses say that it's almost as if he just dropped dead, but that's impossible, isn't it?"
The coroner replies, "It could be a heart attack or an aneurysm of some kind, but I'd need to perform an autopsy to be sure."
As they are loading the body into the medical examiner's van, a woman walks up to the detectives.
"They aren't going to find anything," Aronja tells them.
Barry asks, "How could you know that? Are you a doctor?"
"Because if this guy has died due to a succubus or incubus overfeeding from him, it will just look like a heart attack, with maybe 1 or 2 anomalies." She says to them casually. " You think I don't know what comes back when 1 of my kind overfeeds? Nearly every one of us has the guilt of overfeeding at least once due to inexperience when we first start feeding. But we learn, and then there's the occasional rogue will overfeed on purpose for more power or they just lack the will to control how much they take during a feed. Based on the number of people being killed, I'd guess this is a rogue succubus, though possibly an incubus, that will depend on the s****l orientation of the victims. But whether it's due to being power-hungry or lacking the will to stop, I can't tell yet."
Alan asks, "How can you not tell yet if it's a rogue or an incubus/succubus just learning to feed? Surely you should be able to tell by now!"
"And I suppose when a serial killer starts killing, you know straight away that it's a serial killer?" Aronja asks sarcastically. "It's not an exact science to tell who and why the succubus or incubus is killing. And I understand you're frustrated, but it's extremely rare that a murder case can be solved in a day."
Alan walks over to where a couple of rookies are trying to figure out more of what happened from witness statements as one of the rookies is giving one of the witnesses a card saying, "Thank you for all your help, if there's anything else you remember you call the station or send us an email to the email address on this card."
