Our Last Dance

Chapter 20

"If only my romeo could look like Dave." Amelia imagined.

"We may never have a Romeo." Kelly said.

"I'm coming can you excuse me ?" Maddie asked.

"Oh okay." Kelly replied.

"Where are you going ?" Amelia asked.

"To the restroom.

Maddie wanted to use the restroom, or as though she lied , she just wanted to get away from that place as soon as she could, for a very ugly reason, she was still filled with guilt. She was on her way to the restroom. And she hit someone by mistake.

"I'm so sorry." She said without even looking at the person's face.

"It's okay." The person said. The voice sounds familiar to Maddie, so she raised her head to check the face of the person and it turns out of be Dave.

"Oh s**t." She whispered out.

"Hey." He said softly.

"Hi." Maddie replied shyly.

"I've been trying to reach you since that day." He said.

"You were ?" Maddie asked pretending to not have seen his text messages.

"Yes, I was trying to check of you were okay." He said.

"Oh." She responded.

"So, are you okay ?" He asked out of concern.

"Yeah." She replied.

"Uhm, you know what, I'm very sorry about what happened that day, I don't know what got over me, but you don't have to pretend like you care about me or something, I don't want your girlfriend coming for me." She added.

"No I..." He was trying to say before Maddie cut him off.

"Bye." She said and left.

She could not even use the restroom anymore she just ran to meet her friends back.

"You're done ?" Kelly asked.

"Yeah, I am." She replied.

The speakers across the school started making sounds, the students around started groaning and complaining.

"Good morning students." Principal Penelope said over the speakers.

"F**k you." Some students shouted.

Most students don't like principal Penelope, she is very strict and not children friendly in anyway, it's as if she hates children.

"Everyone assemble at the hall now, I have a very important announcement." She said.

Everybody in the school started walking to the hall.

"Let's move girls." Maddie said.

Amelia and Kelly followed her.

They all assembled at the hall and they waited for the principal to arrive.

"Where is that ugly thing ?" A girl sitting at the back of maddie said.

"She always comes late." Another girl said.

In a few minutes, the school choir decided to sing the school anthem, they all stood up in respect to the anthem.

After a while, principal Penelope came in and went straight to the podium.

"Good morning students." She greeted.

"Good morning." Some students replied.

While the rest were just shouting and making noise.

"As you know in Bradford high, we take discipline very important, so please, be disciplined." She said with a very strict tone voice.

"Boo!!" Some students at the back started shouting.

"High school students, they are going to be the end of me." Maddie said as she laughed.

"Uhm, when I catch you, you are definitely going for suspension and heavy punishment." Principal Penelope said.

The whole hall got silent, because they know she is not joking. She gives student suspension like she is giving out gift cards.

"So, the inter house sports is coming soon, we are preparing for this beautiful event." She said and paused.

The whole hall started cheering, the inter house sports is the event of the year in highschool, all the colors of house the school, yellow, green, blue, white, red, get to compete with each other in different sports, and only one house can be crowned winner of this event every year.

The hall kept on cheering and people were talking about the event and what they are going to do.

"Thank you." She said as she tried to stop them from making noise.

But they continued making noise, so many side talks, shouting and laughing.

"I said thank you !!" She shouted and the whole hall became reticence with silence.

"Good." She said.

"So, as you all know, In Creek Top high school, our senior year students always get the opportunity to travel on a trip, to any country they we chose.

The senior students cheered and shouted with joy. Trip to any country, is the most exciting part of being in senior year, they get to travel to any country like Paris, Egypt, London or any country the school chooses for them. The students have fun and get to hang out at night and have more adventure. After this trip, they get to hear different his about the trip like who hooked up during the trip, who broke up, who started dating during the trip and so many crazy gists.

Since Maddie, Kelly and Amelia were in senior year, it means they were also going for this trip. Since they were in junior year, they have always planned and dreamed of this day, when they finally get to travel to a country and have fun. They have already planned a lot of things to do while they were on this trip.

"We finally get to go for the trip at last." Maddie said excitedly.

"I can't believe it." Kelly said.

"It's our time." Amelia added.

"Enough!!" Principal Penelope shouted on top of her voice and the hall became silent.

"Thank you." She said quietly.

"You're not welcome." Kelly whispered to Maddie and Amelia and they all laughed.

"Just so you know, this is the last term of this session and every end of every session, we have our prom night, where everyone get to come as a couple to the event and have their special dance." Principal Penelope said.

The hall cheered loudly again. At this point principal Penelope was already fed up.

"Must you shout and cheer at everything !!" She said.

"I don't see anything exciting about what I said, you already know this, so it's not news to you, you were just waiting for me to come to the podium and say it, so you can shout." She continued.

"The fact that she is not wrong is what gets me." Amelia said.

"I know right." Maddie responded.

"So I guess that's all for today, oh and make sure you all go to classes and read your books, test stars in a few weeks." Principal Penelope said.

"You are all dismissed." She closed the house.

Everybody in the hall stood up and every where git rough with people trying to make their way to their classes, some to their sports while some to do only what God knows.

Maddie and the girls made their way out of the hallroom together.

"Great, we have a trip to prepare for bi**es" Maddie said.

"And we are going to slay." Kelly said.

"Uhm, Amelia are you not going to say anything?" Maddie asked Amelia after noticing her silence.

"I'm sorry, as much as I'd love to talk about this, I am late for swimming practice, so I've got to go now." Amelia said as she began to bring her swimming trunk out of her bag.

"You mean you are going to change your dress ?" Kelly asked sadly.

"Unfortunately, yes." Amelia replied.

"But I'm still gonna change back when I'm done with practice." She added.

"Bye." She said as she began to leave.

"Bye!" Kelly and Maddie waved to her.

She went to the locker room and changed to her swimming trunk. After she was done changing she went straight to the swimming pool for her practice.

She ran in there and already saw Kim waiting for her.

"Is this the time we agreed to meet ?" He asked.

"C'mon I'm only like ten minutes late." She said.

"Like ten minutes late ?" He asked.

"Do you know that time is precious? Do you know what you could have done within that ten minutes?" He asked sternly like he was an adult teacher.

"Uhm, Kim can you skip the part where you scold me and let's get straight to work." She asked.

"I'm your coach, you can't tell me what to do to you." He said.

"Seriously ?" She asked.

"Yes seriously!" He shouted.

"Ok, you didn't have to shout that loud." She said as she covered her her ears with her hands.

"Now jump into the water at the count of three." He commanded.

"Wait, are we not going to..."

"3!"

"Can you relax, I'm trying to..."

"2!"

"Oh, you are going to pay for this."

"1!"

Amelia jumped into the water to and fro.

After a while of swimming practice, Amelia sat down at the side of the pool, Kim stood beside her.

"I heard about how you helped me last night." Amelia said.

"Took you long enough." He said.

Amelia laughed and took a long pause.

"Thanks." She said.

"You're not welcome." He said.

"Must you turn every moment into a bad one." She laughed as she said.

"I know you saw what i saw yesterday." She said.

"Yeah." He responded.

"I wanted to tell you but.." he said.

"How long have you known ?" She asked.

"For a while now." He said.

"Most of here knows." He added.

"Okay."

"But it's not okay if I push you into the water." He said as he pushed her inside the pool. Amelia laughed and they had a fun time with the water.

The bell rang and most students were going to their classes.

The homeroom teacher of senior year students, Mrs chloe, wants to speak to them regarding the trip. She stood an waited for all the students to come in the class.

After all the students are in the class, she began to address them.

"Hello students." She said.

"Hi.!!" They replied.

"So you all heard about your trip that is coming in two weeks from now."

"Yes!!." They replied.

Mrs chloe is their favorite teacher, that's why they are ready to do anything she says.

"So, I trust most of already have your passports ready, cuz we are going to...." She tried to put them in suspense.

"Drumrolls please." She requested.

They all drummed in the table waiting for her to speak.

"Paris !!!" She shouted.

The whole class cheered and they were all happy. A trip to Paris is not one that would be boring.

"So students gets ready for your trip to Paris." She said before leaving the class.
