“Oh, yes.” Gabriel delivers the line sooo well he sounds like someone who is a girl’s dad. That wins him more points in front of the two women.
“I'm glad you are getting on well with your classmates.” Miss Leyland continues, “Your principal has shared you are adjusting well.”
I nod. Gabriel is looking at me. Then I realised what she meant with everything she said about the way I looked - what?!
