  “Run, honey just runs until you find some help, or else go and find Aunt Tia. She will for sure be in her office, okay? “Said momma whispering to me as we were hiding in the study room as the stranger uncle was searching outside for us. I don’t know why momma is so scared of him. The sound of something smashing came from out of the room making us both flinch and gasp with fear. “Hone, go. Please, just run and ask for help. Okay? And, don’t come back home until you get someone for help. Here, this is Aunt Tia’s number ask someone big aunty or uncle to call this number to get her, okay?” she said writing down the number in my hand with the pen on the table we were hiding behind. “Ahh...” Almost a scream was about to leave my mouth as he started banging on the door if not for momma shutting my scream by keeping her hand on my mouth. “Momma, what if he-he will hu-hurt you?” I asked with tears rolling down my eyes. She wiped my tears and said, “No, honey. He can’t hurt me as my brave little girl will protect me by bringing someone’s help, right?” More tears started to slip out my eyes at her words as I was scared thinking about what if I fail. “No, you won’t. I believe you, my love. Just go… now.” she said and whisper yelled at last when I was not moving an inch from my spot but thinking of getting my momma safe with me I jump out of the window with her help and ran towards aunt Tia’s office which was on the other side of the road leaving some of the neighbors which would get me late to help momma. So, I ran to whoever came into my view and a boy was walking by the road though not someone big but was someone who I thought can help me. “Hey, listen,” I called him not knowing how to get his attention. “Please, wait, I need your help. Please.” I yelled crying scared at each passing second. “Hey, please wait, help.” I stopped running and took a deep breath collecting all my strength and shouted loudly calling him. And, finally, he stopped and turned around. Waving my hand, I once again shouted, “Help, please.” Running he came to me with a frown playing on his forehead and asked, “Hey little girl, what happened?” He asked softly kneeling to my level with concern visible in his beautiful hazel eyes. “M-my mom-ma...” My lower lip trembled due to crying and fear for my momma, I was not able to make a word to put it in front of him. “My mo-momma, she-she needs help. She is in our house with that bad stranger uncle, please help me. My daddy is also not here.” I said holding his hand tightly. “P-please...” “Where is your house, tell me? I will ask my dad to help your momma in shooing that bad man.” He asked looking around for my house. “There, that one is my house. Please, help me.” taking out his Ipad from his bag, he dialed someone and said, “Hello, dad I need your help.” He said to his dad and shared the location. “Come, let’s go.” Holding my hand he got up pulling me up along with him. “No. No, you can’t. He is very strong, you won’t be able to fight him.” Sobbing I said trying to control my crying. “My dad is coming and he will help us in saving your mommy. So, for him to know where your mommy is we must go there and think of something until then to distract that stranger so that doesn’t succeed in hurting your mommy. Okay?” Hearing him I nodded my head as he placed his palms on my cheeks, softly caressing and wiping my tears. “Come, let’s go.” Holding my hand, he turned around starting to walk towards my house. Going towards the house, my heartbeat was speeding with each passing second thinking about my mommy. Praying to god, I held the boy’s hand tightly taking deep breaths. “There, that’s my house.” Reaching the house, I showed him from where we were able to see that stranger man and my mommy facing each other. She was stepping back slowly whereas that bad uncle was saying something and stepping towards her. I turned towards the boy to ask him to save mommy but I then realized that I don’t know his name. “W-hat is your name?” Smiling at me he answered, “My name is Asher, and yours?” “H-Hazel,” I replied and looked back to find him hovering over mommy and yelling at her making her shake. “Please, please help my mommy, he will hurt her.” Holding his arm and clinging to him I requested not able to wait for his dad to arrive scared of him being late. “Dad must be coming soon, just wait here. Okay?” He said looking at his watch and then around must be looking for his dad but I was not able to stand there anymore and wait for him. Therefore, I decided to go inside the house alone. “Hey, where are you going?” Holding my wrist he stopped me. “To help my mommy, he is hurting her.” struggling to free my wrist from his hold I said seeing him pressing her against the wall and choking her. “You can’t Hazel, he will hurt you also. You won’t be able to save your mommy alone, let’s wait for my dad to arrive.” “No, we can’t. He will kill till your dad will arrive. Please, let me go.” Requesting him, I turned to look at mommy getting rid of him by smashing the vase on him. “Okay, I will let go of you but instead of you I will be going inside and you will wait here for my dad.” He said letting me off. “No, please let me also come with you...” Cutting me in between, “No you can’t, understood?” “I will go, please. You can’t stop me.” I said trying to make him convince but failed miserably as he replied, “No, and promise me you won’t even try to come inside, or else I will go away and ask my dad to not come here anymore.” Knowing very well, that if he will go away and ask his dad not to come anymore, I alone won’t be able to save mommy. So, I nodded my head will a tear spilling out of my eyes. “Don’t cry, nothing will happen to your mommy.” Patting my head, he said. ”Promise?” raising my pinky finger, I asked. Smiling, intertwined his finger with mine and promised. “But, how will your dad know that I am the girl for whose help you called him here?” I asked as he turned around to go inside. “Oh, right,” he said thinking for some way and after few seconds he took out his ring from his right hand and handed it to me. “Keep this and show it to my dad when he will arrive. He will be here soon and he will be wearing a suit, okay? Will you be able to recognize him?” H asked looking into my eyes with care. “I-I’ll try,” I said as I was not sure if I will be able to or not. “Okay, no problem. Even if you won’t be able to he will recognize you. Just show him this ring when he’ll ask if you are the girl. Okay?” he said and turned around walking inside the house. And, at that moment nothing else came into my senses except praying to the Lord for him and my mommy. Tears again started escaping my eyes making it difficult for me to breathe and just then in few minutes the rushing of the car came from behind. Turning around, I saw a man stepping out of the car and walking straight to me. “Hey honey, are you the girl my son talked about helping?” he asked kneeling to my height. “A-are you A-Asher’s dad?” I asked him to which he nodded and responded making me happiest. “P-please help him and my mommy. They both are inside fighting with that bad uncle.  H-he was hurt-ing m-my mommy and to protect her A-Asher went inside.” I said struggling to speak due to crying. “Okay, I will but first you calm down and stop crying.” Wiping my tears he said, cooing me taking in a hug. “Don’t worry your mommy and Asher both will be okay.” Nodding my head I pulled myself from him to let him go inside and help them. I just stood there seeing his figure disappearing as he entered the house. Standing there I was bouncing back and forth waiting for them to come out but they didn’t and instead, I saw a glimpse of some wild animal from our window making me panic and scared. How come suddenly an animal entered my house? And suddenly the animal roared out loudly making me out of fear, fear for my momma and Asher and his dad. As one roar wasn’t enough, another came but this time it sounded like two animals roaring which came in my view. Not one but two big wolves were fighting with each other making me gasp at the unbelievable view in front of me. Coming out of the shock I tried to get the view of four of the humans inside but no one was there. Standing there frozen at my spot I was blank not knowing how to help them all. After few minutes of which the cops arrived and with the sound of their siren, the roaring and growling of those wolves also stopped as if they were not there anymore. Running inside the house they helped my momma out of the house. She was covered with injuries all over her body that were visible. Seeing her, I ran screaming out, “Mommaaaa” falling on my knees. I hugged her crying out trying to wake her up. I was scared with even a thought of her leaving me. “Honey, let the nurse help your mother.” Lady cop came and said with concern in her eyes. Looking at my momma, I nodded my head and stood up as she began to check her when only I realized that Asher and his dad were not out yet. So, I looked around and tried to walk inside the house to look for them but was stopped by the cop. “Child, you can’t go inside now.” She said softly with a smile on her face. “But, my friend and his dad are not out yet.” Looking between her and our house I said and asked her to look for me at least. “But, the child we have already inspected the whole house but no one is in there anymore.” Frowning I looked at her with doubt and said, “But, they were there inside.” “Might be, they escaped.” She said suggesting her answer but I don’t know why I still wasn’t able to believe that. “Or might be…” “Might be what?” I asked looking at her but before she got a chance to reply I heard momma’s voice. “Mommy, you okay?” I asked going to her smiling brightly. Nodding her head she replied but seemed too weak to reply anything.”Mrs. Walker, you should take a rest now. We will come tomorrow for investigation about today.” Said their head and goes a little away when his man asked him. “What happened?” He asked. “Sir, a wolf was seen running in the forest behind the area who was bigger than normal. And...” he replied but pausing in between. “And, what?” The head asked. “And, the man and his child that little girls asking about…. we think that the wolf killed them. There’s a lot of blood inside with the pieces of a man’s clothes. So, seeing that the nurses concluded that, the large wolf must have killed them.” Said his man making me gasp thinking about what I have done. Only if I wouldn’t have asked Asher to help me then they would have been alive now. Crying out I hugged my mommy venting out my sorrow. “Mrs. Walker, let’s go. If you have someone to whose place you can go for few days, it would be great as your house will be under us for some forensic test and proves.” The lady cop said making mommy nod her head and gave them information about Aunt Tia. “What about the kid?” I heard the head asking grabbing my attention. “They said, there is no sign of him but by observing everything they said that wolf must have killed him too.” Hearing that my sobbing became louder to which mommy started rubbing my back trying to calm me down.
