Chapter 4

Hazel’s POV

“Okay, so you can now join your first class. If you need any help I am just a text away, okay?” Brian said whom the dean introduced me to him for any kind of guidance and help. Her words were strict but were filled with care and love which was visible in her eyes clearly. Avery Romano is her name and she is also the wife of the head of this town. Nodding my head, I smiled at him and he left for his own class.

Actually not town, they call it a pack, and the people living here are called pack members. And, the as Alpha and his wife as Luna. When I moved here I felt pretty strange by their unique ways but then my mom made me understand that everything here has been for decades which the generations have been following and will follow in the future too.

How my mom knows about these? By my dad, this place is where he spent his life and my mom came after marrying him. She always used to refer to how warm this place and the people living here are. How warmly they all welcomed her when for the first time she came here with dad. I still remember hearing her I used to ask her why to have once visited here again to which she always used to change the topic and I being the obedient daughter used to not ask again.

When mom informed me about coming to this place I was very excited to explore and know the place my dad belonged to. I always wanted to know about my dad in depth which mom used to tell me but she always had ended up sobbing which afterward made me stop asking her. I can understand she misses him very much but she never used to show me that and always stated dad as the bravest man on earth and she as the proudest wife. Even crying she used to do it alone after me going to sleep.

Opening the door, I peeked inside to find the professor already giving the students work to do. “Excuse me, can I come in?” I asked her politely with a smile. Turning his head, he stared at me for few seconds and questioned, “Oh, the new student?”

Nodding my head, “Yes, sir.” I said hesitating a little bit as there is some strong aura in this room that was giving chills to my body. “Come in, and introduce yourself to the class.” Keeping my smile maintained, I went standing beside him and turned towards the class to come face to face with my new classmates.

“Hello, everyone. I’m Hazel Walker, looking forward to getting along with you. Thank You.” I introduced myself ruining my first impression due to the strange aura or you can say someone’s gaze making me nervous. Though the vibe is a good one still it is making me anxious, “I hope every one of you can help her and cooperate with her.” Professor said to the class, “I am David, your art professor.”

I nodded my head yet again as he asked me to take a seat wherever I would like but as I took a step he stopped me and asked me to go and sit beside the guy sitting near the window who was staring at me strangely. “Uh...” I tried to object, “What? Do you have any objection?” He questioned to which I found him suddenly behaving very strictly.

Therefore, shaking my head I smiled and turned going to take my seat. Taking a deep breath, I sat down taking my book and notepad out. I tried to concentrate at the lecture but was not able to even after the guy stopped staring at me. The strong aura I said about is coming from him only I can say after sitting beside him for few minutes which is making me even more and more nervous making it difficult for me to concentrate.

“Are you all right?” And, making me yelp by the sudden question he was smiling and it was then when I noticed his features. His those deep forest-like green eyes, sharp blunt nose, chiseled chin with dimple. All his facial features are at the exact point of making him look more than attractive. Attractive would be not enough to describe his looks, “Hey, Hazel!”

My name from his lips were sounding like some sweet song that I ever liked more than this. It felt as if he keeps on calling my name and me sitting still and hearing him. “Hellooo…” he waved his hand in front of my face making me come out of my thoughts.

“Huh… hello.” I smiled at him awkwardly feeling embarrassed. “Are you all right? You have been seeming nervous and zoned out.” He asked with concern visible in his eyes but also with a smirk on his lips.

“Y-ye-ah, thank you,” I said looking at my book with head down feeling embarrassed.

“Thank You? For what?” He asked raising his brow. “Umm, you asked me if I am all right or not.” Making him know about it as his lips formed in “Oh” which was not audible.

“That was because you were zoned out even after everyone left.” I raised my head looking around and finding no one in the class except the two of us. “Oh, I’m so sorry.” I apologized for getting out of the bench giving him space to walk out.

“Sorry, for what?” Getting up from his seat he asked grabbing his bag.

“Y-you must be wanting to go but due to me you were stuck there,” I answered frowning at him as he grabbed my bag. “It was nothing, I enjoyed spending time with you.” Taking my bag, I felt his gaze upon me again which was giving me Goosebumps and for making the situation even more intense our hands touched which felt as if some current ran through our hand.

“Don’t you have any more classes?” Walking out of the class, he asked when I remembered about having my psychology class. “Oh no, I forgot. I am already late.” Taking quick I followed him out of the class when he asked, “Psychology class it is?”

“How do you know?” I asked getting confused about how he knows. “Umm.. mmm.. actually, I have the same class so just guessed it.” He shrugged his shoulder making me nod my head. “So, let's go?” Giving me his hand he asked making me stare at his hand. “Oh, sorry, let's go.” Taking back his hand he apologized as I looked between his face and hand.

“It’s okay.” I smiled and started walking with him towards the class as he started asking random questions about me and telling me about the university and himself which I didn’t ask for but still listening to him was a good feeling so I didn’t mind.
