Lord Bartu was very fat, extremely fat, weighing over 300 pounds. When he walked, the fat on his body would jiggle.
However, Lord Bartu was very wealthy, at least in Xu Mo’s eyes. He owned a medium-sized department store at the intersection of streets, in a very prominent location. The store had two floors, and the top floor was his living quarters.
When Xu Mo and the others arrived, Lord Bartu had just opened the door. A drunkard, stumbling and swaying, approached, placing his hand on Bartu's shoulder and slurring, "Bartu, why are you opening the door so late today? Get me a few bottles of wine, and I'll pay you back later."
"Get lost, get lost…" Bartu pushed the drunkard away. Due to his massive size, his strength was considerable. The drunkard was shoved down the stairs and landed with a thud.
"If you don’t have money, go out and earn some. Always thinking about drinking, no wonder your wife ran off with someone else," Bartu sneered. The drunkard, somewhat sobered by the insult, pointed at Bartu and cursed, "None of your business."
"None of my business? You still haven’t paid your bill," Bartu glared at the drunkard. The sight of his 300-pound frame was enough to intimidate the drunkard, who staggered back a few steps, cursing under his breath as he walked away.
"Useless." Bartu muttered loudly, and the drunkard, face flushed, bumped into Mia, who was walking toward them. She quickly bowed and said, "Uncle Harlan, I’m sorry, my dad’s like that, please don’t mind him."
"I don’t know how that fat pig managed to have such a good daughter like Miss Mia. Maybe they should do a paternity test," the drunkard muttered under his breath as he left. Mia angrily walked up to Lord Bartu and said, "Dad, can’t you change your temper?"
"Change it, change it, but this useless guy not only drinks but gambles too, lost his wife, and now the kids at home are starving while he’s still running a tab for alcohol. How can I be nice to him?" Bartu grumbled, then turned to Xu Mo, who was standing behind Mia.
"Bartu, Lord Bartu," Xu Mo called out. The original owner was very afraid of Lord Bartu. In the original memories, Lord Bartu was hot-tempered, treacherous, and greedy but was afraid of his daughter. However, Xu Mo now believed that the original owner’s impression of him was not entirely accurate. At least there were clear mistakes in the original owner's judgment.
In fact, Xu Mo even suspected that the one who had been following him earlier might have been Bartu, because given the events that had occurred, he wouldn’t have trusted Mia to go alone. Besides, the department store had just opened when all this happened.
Furthermore, considering the original owner’s knowledge of the underground world, how could a useless man like Bartu run a department store in such a place?
