The next morning when Lane awoke, the shelter was quite cold. He got up, trying not to disturb Anna, and stirred the fire back to life. After he had a good flame going he heated water for Tea before looking out. It was wet and muddy looking but the sun was coming up and the sky was clear. It looked as if it might warm up again today or at least he hoped so. Looking down at Anna sleeping, he knew they had to move out today if she had any chance at all of making it. She was game that he knew, but could tell that her strength was leaving her fast, she had very little left.
