It had been over a week, nine days to be exact. Anna and Ellen had spent every waking moment together, working inside and out. They helped with the horses as much as anything and rode as much as possible.
Anna tried to teach Ellen the responsibility of having horses as much as enjoying them. Ellen had dived into every task eagerly and worked hard to please Anna.
She had pleased Anna very much and had not gone unnoticed by Steve or the rest of the hands. Anna felt a warmness inside of herself every time she looked at the girl, working or playing.
