Blurb

A pup was found near the smoking rubble of a werewolf territory; cold and afraid she had no hope of survival. Saved and raised by the Fae from a nearby village, they gave this poor pup a chance at life.

Willow
Willow POV Smoke filled the cool night, and the rain that fell did nothing to quench the fires that burned the nearby pack territory. Twigs cracked below Willows’s faerie feet as she walked around, just outside the space of the burning shifter territory. The wolves always intrigued her. They were beautiful and strong, but she found them violent. As she walked, creeping behind trees and brush, Willow hoped to find survivors. While they were violent, these wolves never bothered her nearby village. Homes burned, glass shattered, and the small territory burned to the ground. The attackers were long gone, and there were no longer signs of life. Willow decided to head home. As she crept, she heard a small cry nearby. “What could that be?” she whispered to herself. It sounded like a cat, or maybe an injured bird... no, it was a baby! Willow glanced around. She saw nothing but wet leaves and rocks on the forest floor. “This won’t work,” she muttered. With a quick flick of her wrist, Willow’s magic illuminated the living things around her in a sparkling purple light. Willow looked around before the magic wore off. Despite seeing a couple of forest creatures, none of them made that sound. Admitting defeat, she accepted the outcome. She wasn’t going to find anything. Then, she saw a small baby. It was only a few months old. The baby lay on the ground, wrapped in a purple blanket. A fallen log hid the baby, and she was soaking wet. “You poor thing!” Willow picked the baby up and held her close. “Are you a shifter? What are you doing out here?” Willow didn’t know what to do with a shifter baby. She leaned closer to sniff her. “You’re a wolf alright.” Wolves had their scents that other wolves could only smell, but to other magical creatures, they smelled like dogs. The baby smiled up at Willow with her chubby, wet face. Despite her hair covering her, she had the most beautiful pale green eyes. Willow smiled back. “Well, I can’t leave you here.” Willow looked towards her village and sighed. “Let’s hope my mother doesn’t get too angry.” With that, Willow carried the small shifter baby back to her home.
