The past two days has been irritating with Tredon pestering me. I just hope he won’t be doing it today, it’s tiring.
I am walking now on the hallway to my classroom. It’s 20 minutes before the 1st subject start, I happened to come early this time.
“Ms. Fern, may I have a word with you?” The principal asked in front of me. I didn’t see her a while ago, maybe because I wasn’t paying attention.
“Okay,” I replied, then she motioned me to follow her.
We arrived in an empty classroom. There were no students, only empty chairs.
“Is Tredon giving you a hard time?” she asked first. I was surprised. I thought she’s going to talk to me about my school performance. But I just keep my silence. I don’t know how to react.
“You know, I’ve never seen that boy so interested with a girl,” she smiled.
I don’t know why she’s talking like this.
“I can’t blame him though. Your such a beautiful girl, and I’m sure he sees that. He’s a good man, it takes time to see it, and I just hope you could give him a chance. I can see he’s very determined for you to notice him.”
Why is she telling me this? She seem to know Tredon very much.
“Are his mom?” I asked out of curiously but she laughed.
“No young lady, I am his aunt. I just wanted to tell you that, so I hope you’ll think about it,” she said and smiled again. I was so astounded that I didn’t notice her leave.
Great. What a way to start a day. I actually came early so that I could think. The house at home is filling me up with so much information so I decided I could clear my mind at school, but turns out, I was filled up with another information. The principal is Tredon’s aunt! And she’s telling me to give the boy a chance!
Damn this!
I still have 15 minutes to think. I continue walking to the classroom. The thoughts in my mind’s wrestling each other. I can’t put the pieces together. I still need information that could put the puzzle pieces together.
The classroom was quiet when I arrived. Good thing. I really need silence to clear my mind, to stop the train of thoughts running in my mind.
“Hey beauty. Didn’t catch a good sleep?” I heard somebody talked. I didn’t recognize it at first, but when I opened my eyes, I realized it was Charise. There were already few students sitting on their chairs.
“I dozed off,” I replied with a soft yawn.
“You’re lucky there were only few students,” she said.
“I was just thinking, I didn’t notice I fell asleep.”
“What were you thinking about? Is it Tredon?” she teased.
“About him, you didn’t tell me the principal is his aunt,” I said, dodging her question.
“I thought you know, they use the same last name.”
“Well, I just knew it today,” I sarcastically said but she just smiled at me.
“Damn, I still fell sleepy.”
“Do you want to skip the class? We could go somewhere” she offered but I shook my head.
It was lunch time, I wasn’t feeling hungry. Charise being herself stayed with her food while am at the library. I thought it was the best place to sleep. There were students reading, so I chose the table at the darker part of the library so nobody could notice me.
I was dozing off when a hand touched my chees. Quickly I caught the hand and twisted it. I was surprised to see its Tredon’s.
“What do you think you’re doing!” I whisper-yelled to him, still holding his hand.
“L-l-let go o-of my hands please,” he yelps. Slowly, I removed my grip from his hand.
“Damn that hurts,” he said, massaging his hand.
“Why are you here?” I asked him calmly, I don’t want to catch the librarians attention.
“I saw you were drowsy last morning. And then you were not at the tree, so I asked Charise and she told me you’re here,” he explained as the take a sit in front of me.
“That girl,” I mumbled.
“You know there’s a place where you could sleep,” he said.
I looked at his eyes with doubt, but he just smiled and handed me a bottle of water. I took it and drank from it. He’s looking at me happily. After drinking from it, he pulled me from my sit and led me to a room. It was still part of the library, but seems like a VIP style. Tredon pressed a button at the back of a large book and a door opened. We went inside.
“I used to come here when I want to sleep
You could comfortably sleep here,” he said as the door closes. The room is simple, but there weren’t any windows.
“Right, your aunt is the principal. I wonder why nobody told me that,” I said looking back at him.
“Yeah, I just don’t want to tell you that. You could get a wrong impression about me if you know.” He explained.
I walked to the bed and lay down, feeling the soft bed.
“You know tomorrow’s the ball. As much as I want to expect you could give me a chance, I don’t want to risk it. So I understand if you won’t,” he said with a sad tone. I even can see it in his face.
I remember what his aunt told me last morning. And he has been doing everything he can to make me agree. Right now, he is doing something I didn’t expect him to do.
“Are you giving up that easy? You could have a chance you know?” I told him as I sit up.
I saw his face lit up with a curve on his lips.
“Really?” he exclaimed.
“I have just been occupied with things, that I wasn’t able to appreciate your actions,” he was still looking at me wit his smile.
“It’s okay. I mean we don’t really know each other and we have things to do. Well, I’m gonna leave you on your own. Have a comfortable sleep, I’ll just check you after class.”
“Thank you for lending me this room. Does you aunt knows?” I asked.
“Yeah, I told her before I came to find you,” he said.
“Okay. And I’m skipping class today. Great,” I said and yawn. I lay again on the bed and close my eyes. I really want to sleep, I only slept 3 hours last morning before I wake up. I have been searching around the house last night.
“Well, I’ll go before the ring bells. If you want to go out, you could press that red button on the wall, the door will open up,” he said and went out, while I’m beginning to doze off.
