The Reluctant Prince and His Substitute Bride

The diamonds sparkled on her neck as the royal dressers straightened her gown. In her entire life she had never wore anything as expensive and as shiny as the way she was dressed today. Her long dark raven locks held up to a large bun by strings of gold ribbons adorned in sappires. Her gown was made of the best velvet ,smooth and silky to touch it was almost as though it was a second skin on her. it was a sleeveless off shoulder gown which glittered as the light fell on it. It was so long that Alexis feared she might step on it or someone from behind might step on it and she would trip and make a mess of her self in front of everyone. Her heels were just on another level, it brought her little barely 5 foot structure taller. They were almost 6 inches with red bottom heels and transparent in color and were the best she had ever owned “Your Majesty is there anything else you need ?” the maid on her left asked “No, thank you I think that will be all” Alexis muttered “Nonsense Your Majesty, Diana ,could you try and give her makeup a little shine , we don't want the prince to marry a wife with a dull make-up” the head maid insisted as the maid Diana grabbed the makeup kit and began a fresh make up on Alexis's already shiny face. Great this is going take all day and the wedding is just in a few hours. Just at that moment the royal guard knocked and came in. “Message for the bride from the prince” he said as he handed to the chief maid a box and briefly walked out. “Wow your majesty it seems the prince is quite excited to make you his bride” She said as she unwrapped the box. The maids around let out in involuntary gasp as the Chief unwrapped the box leaving Alexis wondering what was in the box. The maid raised up the item in the box and for a moment Alexis was blinded by the light it reflected. “What the f**k is that ” she whispered to herself hoping that none of the maids her because it was not cultured for a Queen to be to curse. “its necklace made from the diamonds mined at Atlantis” the chief maid said as Alexis noticed just a glint of jealousy and greed in her eyes as they vanished immediately. “Wow” she said as they placed the necklace in her slim neck. It was quite heavy on her neck but fitted her beautifully. “You look georgous your Majesty” “Thank you Diana” Alexis smiled and turned to look at the full length mirror. Holy s**t who the hell is that staring back at me. She almost didn't recognize her self. If only her little sister Betty could see her ,she would call her a Disney princess “well since we are done here I think it's high time we get going ,let us not leave the prince waiting for His bride” As she stepped into the Royce Rolls they kept waiting for her she felt anxious and worried that this will not go as planned.The car cruised off the streets of the great Kingdom of Calliopis ,she noticed the streets were empty and mostly deserted. With that she figured that most of its citizens were going to be at Wedding venue. I mean for God's sake why won't they it was their only prince getting married With a six minutes drive the Finally arrived the venue and the car parked right in front of the great doors of St Peter's catedral were the wedding was meant to hold. In and out The chauffeur hqd the doors open for her and her so called father smiled at her and held her hands “ are you ready my Little pumpkin” he smiled at her “Ah... yeh let's do this ” she said nervously “dont worry I get it, you are nervous, when those doors open just look at the man in the suit waiting to receive you as his husband and try to imagine the great family you are going to raise with him. Think about it love , it going to be fun" it almost sounded as though he was talking to himself more than to her Alexis gave a sign and just couldn't wait for it all to be over. The giants doors creaked open revealing a crowd of almost 50,000 people fitted in the huge church. They all turned and stared at the veiled woman who was going to soon be their next Queen. Each step Alexis took sent her mind into a constant state of regret trouble and confusion. She kept asking if she was making the right decision ,but as she stared ahead a looked at the man waiting for her with the priest she took a deep breath and kept walking on. “I hope you are ready for this dear” Her father whispered to her “I am also hoping so ” Alexis said to her self When they reached the stage her father handed her over to the prince and and gave her an awkward wink and walked back getting lost in the crowd. She turned and stared at her husband to be. He looked quite handsome if he was going to remove the hard face expression. Right now he looked like a 7years boy who was forced to go to kindergarten school for the first. He looked really dashing in his royal suit which was the best she has ever seen on a guy. It was designed with milltary ranks with ribbons and a red stash. His soft blond hair was raised to a cute pony tail and he had this stony expression on his face that mad him look more badass If it wasn't for the situation I find my self in my Prince I would have f*****g married you really Alexis sign as they turned the priest who was in all smiles and cheers Although everyone was happy and in good mood for the couple, the couples themselves looked as though they were about to go into something they were about to regret After a few blah blah blah from the priest, they were told to read their vows which was the point that Alexis dreaded most. Sometimes his mouth curled up to a smirk as he laughed deep within him at the nonsense he found himself spewing “that little bastard” she thought as he paused for second to wipe off fake tears with his gloved hands and continued his vows “oh really he thinks he can act better than me on this huh .I gonna show him who does it better I mean for f**k sake his eyes are as dry as my throat right now, can't this. The whole crowd went silent and felt great pity and love for the new queen to be who they all felt was so deep in love with their Prince and would make a great Queen The Prince himself was quite shock at the outburst of tears and at first had a puzzled look on his face but when Alexis had wiped her tears and gave him a little smirk and wink, his heart raced a little and he felt like laughing as he understood her game. After the vows the priest went straight to the point “Do you Prince Ryder Maxworth the 3rd take Miss Veronica Duncan of the Duncan family to be you lawfully wedded wife ,in....” “Yes I do” he answered quickly and impatiently without waiting for the priest to finish,as he stared deep into her eyes through the veil that Alexis felt his eyes burning a hole through the veil just to let hers “Wow it looks as if our prince just can't wait to get married” the priest chuckled drawing a hearthly laugh from the crowd “And do you Miss Veronica Duncan of the Duncan family take Prince Ryder Maxworth the 3rd of the Royal family and the next king of the the kingdom of Calliopis to be your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health till death do you apart?” At that moment Alexis wasn't thinking about the vows her mind went to her heels which were hurting her in the glass shoes and just then her stomach rummbled God I just can't wait for the reception f**k am hungry she said licking her lips underneath the veil “Hey..”the priest whispered as the church fell silent waiting for here to give her reply “Oh forgive me . Alexis mind went into turmoil as the prince edged forward towards her and gently took her veil off “If you kiss me I swear I'll break those well arranged teeth of yours” she whispered to the prince when he was close enough to hear alone He froze for a moment staring at her the gave a nasty smirk at her red face and gently kissed her cheeks drawing disappointed groans from the crowds and the a loud cheers followed as the newly wedded waved the crowed as they interlocked hands “its seems you forget to whom you are married to woman” the prince growled through his smile as he waved on “does it f*****g matter” Alexis said with a cute smile as she too waved on. He felt stiff for a while wondering how he had just got himself married to a woman who cursed easily ...in a church for crying out loud! After the wedding they both got into the a Prince Royce Rolls and they all departed to the venue which the reception was going to hold. In the car they were both quiet and didn't speak a word to each other. He worn back in his stony expression and She went back to her bitchy look. When they got to the reception they were in all smiles as the Prince held her and they walked to the stage were they sat and watched as the reception went on. When it was time for them to have a couple dance , the prince led her to the dance floor “Can I have this dance ”he said aloud with a boring look in his eyes as he stretched his hand to her “Yeah sure” she said as she gave his hand a little pinch and held hit tight to avoid any reaction “You are going to pay for that dear wife of mine ”he growled as they danced slowly “Oh muscle up you little baby it was just a little pinch it's not like I stabbed you”she smiled. He gave a death stare as they went on dancing and the as she turned around while dancing ,he let her go and she lost her balance and fell. Oh s**t. The whole hall went silent as even one stopped what they were doing to watch what had happened “Oh my God are you alright” the prince said with a worried voice as he help her up “What happened” the king walked over in majestic strides towards them as he also helped her up “My hand got sweaty from excited Father and I didn't know went she slipped from my grip and fell” the Prince said with his head bow “Carefull next time soon. Trust me you will not want to cripple you bride before you first night” the king laughed with every one and all went on as though nothing had happened, except for a red ,angry Alexis. “Are you ok” the prince asked with a smirk on his face as he lead her back to the sit “Nice going d**k head, you played your cards real nice. but just know this I ain't fun of forgiveness”she said as she gave him a killer smile and walked to the bathroom to retouch her makeup At the bathroom as she stood in front of the mirror, someone from inside flushed the toilet and walked out . As the person washed her hands in front of the mirror too Alexis signed “You didn't sign me up for this ” “I don't know Alexis I mean you are doing great” “Oh really I just got married to a man who I know nothing of and he wants my head ,and you think am doing great ??” “If you will ask me yeah” “f**k this Veronica I mean this is suppose to your wedding”Alexis said. “Well it is my wedding except you are me” Veronica smiled as she stared at Alexis through the mirror. It was like starring at herself again and again.
