A nightly surprise

*Chance POV*

Max had his arms wrapped around Lola. I could tell that they truly cared for her even if they only knew her for a short time. I looked at Max. "She is resting now. She is strong, so I watch over her as I try to figure things out. Once again, use my account for anything. If you need to, my home is open to you," I said, as Max just nodded. They both entered the room and sat down on the couch. I walked away with a heavy heart. I needed to leave, so I could return to her side. Loki followed behind. Once we reached outside, I let out a big sigh and then breathed in. My heart was breaking so much was flowing through my head. I felt lost. Loki just simply placed his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him and nodded as we both walked to the car and got in. Loki drove as I began texting my parents, informing them that I would need to have a conference soon. We reached the pack house. As I entered, everyone who was there greeted me. I announced that we will be having a council meeting soon, so prepare for guests. I had Loki send out letters to all the packs. Its states.

-All Alphas, Lunas, and future Alphas and Lunas need to attend this meeting. We will be discussing the recent rogue attacks and updated information. Having a big gathering can become problematic. Yet things needed to be done as soon as possible. It will happen in three days. Be prepared to be here for a few days to get over things. There is plenty of room for everyone. Hopefully, that will give my little wolf time to relax since her ex-mate will be busy preparing to arrive here. The house was noisy as the pack members began to move things around. My mother and father never attend these meetings, but they will send Jackson their advisor to listen in on things. I began to inform the members about how things must be and what needs to be done. Everyone is busy. I felt lightheaded and sat down. As I leaned back on the couch, I felt a slight hand run along the side of my shoulder and then down my arm. "Alpha, you are so tense right now. Are you OK?" I heard Nicky say. Nicky is our pack healer. She was recently appointed. All healers are rare. We have them healing at a young age, but after the age of 35, they lose their abilities and become nurses or doctors. Nicky has always had a thing for me, yet I never gave her the time of day. "Yes, Nicky, I am fine. Can you please not touch me right now? I'm not in the mood for you today," I said. "Aww, but Alpha, I can feel how tense you are," she said as she began rubbing my neck. The feeling of her healing hands loosens up my muscles. Just as the pain in my upper shoulders was feeling better, I snapped out of the trance I was in and stood up fast. "Thank you, Nicky, but please, at this time, I do not need your services," I said as calmly as I could. "But Alpha," she said as I walked away. Being an unmated wolf and an alpha has its annoyances at times. Every unmated she-wolf wants me. Every chance they get, they throw themselves at me. When I was younger, I had my days, but as I became Alpha, I stopped all my lustful past. Now that I have a mate, I only want her. So I must only think of her at times like this. I needed time to sleep, so I went to my room and lay down. So many thoughts rushed through my head. I wanted to be with her so badly, but I needed to take care of things so she could get better. As I fell asleep, I began to dream. My wolves are running around her. She is sitting on top of a hill laughing as they speed past her. She calls them and they come to her. Mind you, they never like to be told what to do at all. Yet they are so playful with her. So gentle. They come to her. She whispers in their ears, and they look at me. I asked what was said, but before I could hear it. A giant bang happens, and I'm woken from my sleep. There she stood in front of me. She was in her gown just standing there, her eyes shut. I stood up on my bed and rushed to her. She then collapsed into my arms. How did she get here? I'm a light sleeper, so how did I not hear her enter my room or smell her? I was about to wake her, yet her head was lying on my chest, and her hand fell into mine. I couldn't help but just hold her. I don't know why, but I walked to my bed and laid her down, then got into bed with her. I was still in my pants but had my shirt taken off. Once I was in bed, I adjusted her to me. She seemed to be calm as she lay in my arms. I kissed her forehead, and then, in her angelic voice, she spoke, "I found you, Alpha, don't leave me again." The words hit me like bricks. She came all this way to be with me. I couldn't help but fall asleep holding her. When I awoke, she was still there sleeping. I could hear a mind-linked voice trying to wake me. "Yes, she is with me. I don't know how, but she is with me at the pack house. I will bring her back." Looks like my little wolf escaped from the hospital and scared everyone. As she slept. I showered and got dressed. She seems to sleep a lot, but it's because the drug will cause the body to sleep. I lifted her from the bed. She was light as can be, and yet the smell she gave off had me wanting her so bad, but it wasn't our time right now. As I exited my room, I could feel eyes staring at me as I walked down the hall and the stairs. Nicky's eyes burned into me as she saw me holding an unknown woman. I cleared my throat, and then everybody began to go back to what they were doing, all except Nicky, who began walking towards me. "Alpha, who is she, and why is...(she paused for a moment before speaking again) Why is she still asleep? Is she OK," Nicky said with annoyance in her voice. My wolves didn't like her tone, but I said, "Who she isn't of your concern at the moment, please get back to your duties as I need to get back to mine." I began to walk away from the pack house. Loki was there waiting for me in the car. He opened the door, and I adjusted myself into the car as she was able to stay in my arms the whole time. My little wolf's breathing was calm, and the slight squeaks she made, made her sound like a squeak toy. I smirked at her as Loki was getting into the driver's seat. He smiled as he looked in the review mirror. "Alpha, I have all the pack leaders attending the meeting soon. They all plan to arrive on schedule," Loki said. I nodded as I adjusted my body to relax onto the seat. Every once in a while she would make a squeaking noise, and then she would hold onto me tighter as if I was going to leave her at any moment. Her touch and everything she did drove my body crazy. My wolves were excited to just have her. They wanted so much to have her awake to hear her voice and ask how she knew of them. I was curious about that too. As we arrived at the hospital we were greeted by Lola, Max, Dr. Glenn, and a few nurses. The nurses blushed at how I carried her in my arms without even struggling. I could see in everyone's eyes what they were thinking. As everyone bowed their heads and greeted me, we began to walk back to the room. As we entered, I laid her down. began to cover her body with the warm blanket they just laid out for her. As my hand released from behind her, I felt her hand reach for mine. My heart pulled. I stayed there, allowing her to hold it. As the nurses reattached her to the machines. I could feel that she didn't like being hooked up to the machine. But it was necessary. Once they were done, they walked out, leaving the five of us alone to speak.
