"Chance POV*
I heard a grunting sound and popped my head up to see my little wolf awake. She looked scared and I softly spoke to her. After I informed her who I was, she bowed her head. My heart aches because my Luna should never bow down to anyone, let alone me. As she informed me of who she was, I couldn't help but be angry over what she told me, but I had to embrace her. I felt everything as she pulled away. It broke mine and my wolf's spirit. Did she not feel the bond or the link? Yet before I could talk more to her, Lola and Max linked me, informing me they were on their way. I was also linked by Loki letting me know of the update of my little wolf. With that, I left her to rest. Yet the pain of seeing her in there made my blood boil. I wanted to kill every last one of the rogues and whoever had anything to do with the attack. As Lola and Max walked into the hospital, I notified them that my little wolf had woken up but was resting now. I also informed them that she couldn't feel the bond. They both looked at me with concern. "I am gonna talk to the doctor and see what is going on, but for now watch over her. She is the most precious person in my life. For now, do not tell her about our mate bond yet. I want to look more into why she can't feel it. If they release her, you are more than welcome to bring her to the pack's house. Once she is healed, she will become one of us, and we will also have you two become her legal guardian. I also want to give her the time she needs to heal from whatever mental harm was given to her physically," I said as I became angered by the thought of what my mate went through. Just as I was going to walk away, the head doctor walked towards us. "Alpha, Max, and Lola," he said, greeting us. "Let's go into my office to talk," Dr. Glenn said as we walked into his office and sat down. "Okay, I am going to go ahead and inform you. Stormy, has suffered greatly over the years. The lashing that has healed has wounds overlapping each other. The bruising on her body shows that she had been hit multiple times with different objects, whipped, and cut as well. She has many fractured bones that have healed over time. She has gained some weight back, but not enough as an 18-year-old female wolf should. She had no muscles, and from the wound in her head, thankfully, no internal bleeding or hemorrhaging. The issue I am seeing is her wolf has yet to appear even after a massive attack. She has mentioned that she has a mate who broke the bond. Yet, I feel that she hasn't broken the bond with him. Without the bond fully breaking, she would suffer more pain. Especially when the other person is mating. She will still feel it. I was also informed that the pack had also broken their bond with her. So, between two bonds breaking the massive abuse she suffered and the attack, she is going to need a great deal of medical help," he said with a straight-to-the-point voice. "Dr. Glenn, I would like you to do whatever you need to do to make her healthy again. Lola and Max will be her legal guardians for now. Since she has no family, I leave everything in their care. I will say this, if you need other resources, go ahead and place them on my account. I need her to be healthy. Even though she isn't, yet, fully a member of this pack, we treat her as such. She will be the most important person soon," I said as I stood up and walked out. Lola and Max shared glances and nodded before we all left the office. "One more thing, Alpha," Dr. Glenn said as we all stopped and turned around. "If her wolf doesn't appear soon, and her mate bond isn't broken soon, I'm afraid that she will not be able to handle another mating attack. If she makes it, her body will soon break down and her survival chances will soon drop," Dr. Glenn said in a serious tone. Hearing his words made my heart drop and darkness flood in. I can't lose her. "Lola, who is her mate," I asked with an Alpha tone. I could hear her voice crack as she said "I don't know Alpha". "f**k" I yelled out. Has she not already been through so much? I slammed my fist into the wall to release my anger. The wall cracked, leaving a massive hole in the bricks. "Alpha" I could hear Loki's voice call to me. I turned, looking at him in desperation. "Alpha, I got information about Stormy. Her mate is Jacob, the future Alpha of the Red Stone Pack. According to what was gathered, they said that Stormy was jealous of Jacob's and Lora's relationship. She found them mating and broke the bond, causing him pain before he even knew they were mates, causing her to be kicked out of the pack. The thing is, all information about who Stormy is has been destroyed. As if she was never there. When talking to others, everyone said she was a maid.," Loki said. Max said, "That doesn't make sense, why would all information about her be destroyed if she was just a maid?" "Loki send out someone to keep an eye on the Red Stone pack...." I said before hearing an alarm go off. Paging Dr. Gleen, Room 7 went over the intercom. All of our bodies jolted when we heard the room. My body couldn't move fast enough. We reached the room but weren't allowed to go in. Her screams echoed throughout the hall. They were trying to hold her down, but she thrashed around so much from the pain. I could hear Dr. Glenn called out for Wolfsbane. That drug, if used correctly, can calm a wolf down, but if used wrongfully, it can stop your wolf from helping out. If too much is given, it can kill the wolf completely. I could hear Lola choke on her cries as she watched from the window. Max had to pull her away. As they gave her the shot, her body calmed down. Once the medicine took effect, the nurses and doctor walked out. Dr. Glenn looked at me. "The process has already begun. We can only calm her body, but the bond that wasn't fully broken will start to take its toll on her. As the other mate keeps mating, she will suffer more of these. We can give her small doses of wolfsbane to help ease the pain. I don't know what else to do for her. Her bond needs to be broken." I tuned him out as I walked into the room. Her body was small and thin, she was sweating, and her breathing was slowly going down as the medicine took effect. I could see her eyes in pain. Her heart rate slowly dropped. I don't even know when I ended up right beside her, but there I held her hand. They put a breathing mask on her. One nurse walked in and wrote things down. I slowly bent down to kiss her forehead. "Don't leave me little wolf, I need you," I whispered into her ear. Then her heart sparked up a bit. Making the doctor question the nurse. I turned to him and mind-linked him. "I am her second chance mate, this here is your Luna." The expression on his face turned pale white as he knelt. "I will do everything in my power Alpha," Dr. Glenn said. The nurse stood back and forth, then nodded, not knowing what was being discussed, and left the room. It pained me to leave her there. Yet I had to. I had to go to the pack to find that disgusting, pathetic ex-mate of hers. Just as I was about to walk away, I felt her hand tug on my shirt. "Alpha," she said in a soft weak voice. "Yes little wolf, as I turned to her and got close". She smiled and said "Your wolves are big." I could see that she had fallen back to sleep. Yet I was in shock. How did she know of my wolves? My wolves were howling in happiness with hearing that she complimented them. Yet how did she know? She was knocked out when I attacked and killed the rogue. As I talked to the boys, neither of them knew how she knew about them. Who are you truly Stormy? How did you know my secret? I gently kissed her head and touched her face before walking away. Max and Lola were sitting outside the room.
