My body trembles at his words, my knees growing weak. I hate the affect his words gave on me..those two stupid words. I hated even more that I actually wanted to be his.
James. James. James.
I tried to remind myself of James. I had real feelings for him. We were just starting out. I came over to fight for us, and here I was, swooning over Paul… Again.
"He's not coming back."
Paul's words echoed in my head. James wasn't coming back, at least not until Paul let him. Paul had a lot more power and influence than James. Sure, they came from the same family tree, but they were on different sides of the business. If James came back for me, Paul would surely kill him. And I didn't want that, I cared for him too much…
