Chapter 2

746 Words
High school was Meg's least favorite place on the planet. She could never fit in with other students in her previous school and she was sure this new school won't be an exception either. Meg had always been the girl whom no one bothered talking her so she kept to herself and always found herself sitting in the back of the class every period, sometimes it didn't bother her sometimes it did . Good grades were the only thing that was good about going to school. 'High school sucks' had been Meg's motto for a long time. Whereas, Ellen, on the other hand, had never faced such problems. Meg was sure as soon as she set her foot in the school she would start climbing the social ladder and by lunch, she will be among the school's most popular girls. Girls will be dying to befriend her and guys would be dying to go on a date with her. Meg had seen that happen in her previous school and this school was no exception. Ellen was just that good at socializing and making friends. Though Meg wasn't ever jealous of her sister she sincerely hoped someday her sister's mad social skills would rub off her. 'I'm socially challenged' In her entire life of seventeen years, Meg had managed to make a single friend, whom, she considered to be her best not that there were many to choose from but she was sure even if they were Lisa would be her best. But that was back when she was in second grade when they would both have lunch together, did homework together and watched cartoons together until, one day Lisa's parents headed off to a new town. Meg didn't remember the name of the town now after so many years but she remembered crying when her best friend went away. That was it her first and last friend. Though she had grown up a lot compared to the second-grade kid that she was, her social skills never grew. But if she possessed poor social skills with girls, she had nonexisting social skills when it came to the opposite gender and well, they were always too busy looking at the famous girls anyways who had no problem violating the school dress code in their cute mini-skirts and deep neck tops while Meg avoided wearing skirts as much as she could and mini-skit was something she had forbidden herself from because she was a t-shirt and pants kind of girl. Comfort over style. Standing beside her younger sister she compared her own reflection to Ellen's. Her sister was slim and delicate looking with a pretty face and fair as porcelain, blue eyes, pink lips and long blonde hair.....like a doll while Meg, on the other hand, had an athletic build, slim she was but not skinny she had curves. Ellen wished to have curves like her and Meg wished to have her sister's hair color. Typical sisterly thing. Ellen's hair color was a sharp contrast to Meg's black though she wasn't a fan of her own hair color because she found it to be boring she, however, was thankful they were smooth and silky. Meg had inherited her mother's face structure along with her full lips and big brown eyes .She knew she was easy on the eyes but judging by the climate here she was sure her tanned skin will make her stick out like a sore thumb. Ellen had gone downstairs by now for breakfast but Meg didn't move as she secretly kept hoping something would come up and their mom would let her stay behind. "Meghara Calve , come down right now !" It meant trouble when her mother called any of them by their full name . Sighing she scurried downstairs 'Seems like I will have to go to school after all' Half an hour later an unenthusiastic Meg was driving the car to school with an excited Ellen by her side. "I hope this school doesn't suck " Meg remarked "of course, it won't. I'm pretty sure we both will make amazing friends and I'm looking forward to..... " Meg tuned out her sister's lively chirping. Ellen had always been a very excitable and enthusiastic person who saw only the better things in life whereas, Meg thought of herself as a realist, and as one she was already sure Araville high school will be just like her previous school. Why will it not be?
