Opening your bathroom cabinet, you stuck your arm into the dark abyss as you looked around for your makeup bag. A little nervous as to what you might be touching, you grinned as you felt your hand touch the velvety material of your black makeup bag. Reaching in further and pulling it out of the cupboard, you straightened up as you put it onto the counter to start your morning regime.
Opening the bag and starting the application progress, you lost yourself in the world of concealer, foundation and trying to get your liner on without ruining the rest of the work you had done. You were almost done when you saw something shift in the corner of your eye. Startled, you grabbed the nearest item and twisted to point it at the attacker. Your eyes widening, you looked up to see your boyfriend Daniel standing in the doorway. With a huge grin on his face, and one of his favourite hoodies covering his torso, he stood in the doorway with a lazy smile on his face.
He noticed the weapon in your hand, which ended up being a hairbrush and entered the bathroom to sit on the counter. With his head placed on his knee, he smiled as he watched you finish your makeup and start your hair. Grabbing your curling iron, you plugged it into the outlet, when you heard him exhale a deep sigh.
Confused, you turned around and raised your eyebrow in worry. He gave you a small smile and whispered almost inaudible.
"Hey, there's something I've been meaning to ask you?"
Your heart started palpitating, was this the end of you and your relationship? You felt tears starting to form in your eyes and Daniel finally administered the meaning of his words. Startled, he pulled you in close as he whispered in your ears.
"No, nothing like that- calm down."
You breathed in a sigh of relief and put your head on his heart, listening to the calm and soft breathing coming from under the fabric under his sweatshirt. Caught up in the sounds, you hadn't heard him ask the next question- looking up into his face, you raised your eyebrows in confusion. Which was a universal sign asking him to repeat what he'd just said. He smiled.
"I was wondering if it hurt?"
Even more lost than you were previously, you raised your eyebrows higher, trying to convey the shock and confusion taking over your mind. Daniel laughed, and repeated the question.
"I was wondering if it hurt?"
Annoyed, you rolled your eyes, and as sarcastically as you could possibly muster- uttered
"What? Did it hurt when I fell from heaven?"
Daniel smirked,
"Nope"
Nearing the brink of insanity, you turned up the sarcasm even further, as you breathed out an annoyed
"What?"
Daniel held in a laugh, as he quickly asked
"I mean, did it hurt when you fell for me?"
Seeing the annoyance in your eyes, Daniel quickly let you out of your arms, and let out a laugh as he ran out of the bathroom and into the hallway of your apartment. Unable to think logically, you ran after him- only catching him in you combined bedroom, standing on his side of the bed. Joining him there, you wrapped your arms around him, kissing him slowly- only after breathlessly whispering a tiny but still sarcastic no into his ears.
